@Fabio – Maybe you could explain a what you mean a little better. First of all how do you have Dev Kit2 when it’s not shipped untill July? Also, what do you mean by turn the desktop the right way round? Another thing how are you using it as a stand alone when you cannot see your deskptop in stand alone? You are hardly able to see the desktop when looking at it through a Rift.

    got it running!

Set your screen mode to Standalone. Just only use the rift, turn the desktop the right way round and vorpX will run on DK2, aswell.

I just purchased software for $3 and had my game minutes later. Now, for my $39.99 purchase, I’m waiting for an email from a flesh & blood human being like I’m stuck in the movie “Brazil”.

Question:What do Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, and vorpX have in common?
Answer:They all used meat-robots to authenticate-the-purchase &/or regulate-the-distribution of intellectual property secured with ineffectual DRM technologies.

You can lose money selling lightsabers if you use business processes from the 1990s.

If I had just downloaded “alternative” drivers I would be $40 richer and already playing the game!

I bet this entire process could be automated with an Excel Macro + hotmail account & you wouldn’t even have to modify your source code to use an authentication server!

    Hi,
i´ve have some nasty Problems after my Os Reinstall with Vorp-X.

First of all, i didn´t have any of these Problems bevore i had to reinstall my OS. I´m using Win8.1 64bit which is full updated to the latest Date. Graphic and Hardware Drivers are also on the newest Version.

I´m having 2 Users on my System, one as a Admin and my Gaming Persona ;)
My Admin is Password protected , my Gaming-self not.

I installed Vorp-x with my Admin, which worked with no Problems, Vorp-x Started and play all Steam/Origin Games. So fine so good.

When i switch to my Gaming-self, or reboot to my Gaming-self which is my Standard ID, Vorp-x doesn´t show up. Ok,so i get the Programm from my installed Dir, make a Link and try to start it from Desktop. This makes a error (critical error…bla, bla cannot do its magic). When i start now my link with Admin Rights. Vorp-x starts….buuuuuuut doesn´t work with any Game. Hmm, so i quit Steam, started it with Admin Rights and… it worked.

so i guess, that a lot of the cannot-start-Game-X-with-Vorp-x encountered the Same Problem as me now. Vorp-x doesn´t work with multiple Accounts on one PC. Because when i install a Programm on a fresh PC, the System asks me for the Admin password, and after the install Vorp-x is unusable. Maybe there are some Registry settings missing or the installer only install for Admins only.

This is something that should really fixed, i installed my Gamer User because my Adminuser on my last System got corrupted and make my system unuseable.

Not sure whether I understand your issue correctly.

Does the config app crash when you start it? In that case please rename/delete the following folder: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Oculus. This will most likely solve the issue.

The AppData directory may be hidden, you have to enable ‘Show hidden files’ in Windows Explorer to see it.

If you have similar problems launching multiple games, there is a high probability that something on your PC interferes with vorpX. Unfortunately there are a whole bunch of possibly offending programs, not all of them might seem obvious.

This might be a virus scanner, anything that can show content over games (for example chat programs like Skype, Mumble, X-Fire, Evolve etc.), or a special display driver. Please disable all such programs temporarily.

In cases were vorpX worked fine before (which I think is true for you), you should also try whether going back to an earlier system restore point in Windows helps. Maybe something has changed on your machine that causes this issue now.

If you checked for anything you can think of in this regard, please write a mail to support |at| vorpx com for some individual trouble shooting, containing basic system specs and a list of the games you have problems with.

Skyrim: In case you use any mods, please try a fresh and modless (vanilla) install first, and install your mods again one by one afterwards. The vast majority of mods will work fine with vorpX, but there are so many of them that it is impossible to tell whether some might cause issues. Mods that use the Skyrim Script Extender or ‘ENB mods’ are likely candidates for causing trouble.

For Far Cry 3 the following things might be worth to check:

    1. Disable the in-game overlay in Uplay, otherwise you might get a black screen on startup.
    2. Switch from DX9 to DX11 or vice versa. Maybe one works better for you.
    3. The game sometimes seems to require several tries until vorpX hooks correctly unfortunately. Starting the game multiple times should suffice, you probably do not have to restart vorpX.

Generally please check for the following things (some of that you might have done already):

    1. Just in case: make sure that you run vorpX Control, not vorpX Config. It shows a tray icon in the taskbar when it is running.

    2. If you use more than one monitor, check whether disconnecting the additional monitor(s) helps.

    3. Make sure to set Windows display config to clone mode and vorpX monitor config to ‘Use system settings’ (which is the default).

    4. If still nothing works after verifying that, there is a high probability that something on your PC interferes with vorpX. This might be a virus scanner, anything that can show content over games (for example chat programs like Skype, Mumble, X-Fire, Evolve etc.), or a special display driver. Please disable all such programs temporarily.

    5. If you didn’t do that already, please take a look at the trouble shooting sticky above.

If you still have similar issues with multiple games afterwards, please write a mail to support |at| vorpx com for some individual trouble shooting, including basic system specs and the games you tried.

I’ve tried with HL2, farcry3 and Skyrim and I can’t get VorpX to do anything. it acts just like vorpx isn’t there.
I’ve check for the problematic DLL files, made sure the control program is running, checked all the hardware is connected as it should be, and tried creating VorpX desktop shortcuts; as other threads have suggested but with no luck.
Can I get some support on this?

    Hello vivid,

You have to start ‘vorpX Control’ not ‘vorpX Config’. It displays a tray icon in your taskbar when it is running.

The config GUI isn’t that important currently. Almost all settings can be changed ingame after pressing [DEL].

However, there also is a potential solution for the config crash: Please delete/rename the following folder C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Oculus. This will most likely resolve the issue. The AppData directory might be hidden, you have to enable “Show hidden files” in Windows Explorer to see it.

    Hello everyone.

Just recently got VorpX and it’s pretty good all round. The only problem I’ve had so far is in BF4. The driver enables fine and everything works, but when I press DEL to bring up the driver menu, there is no text in the boxes. I only really need to alter the headtracking sensitivity at the moment because it’s crazy sensitive but I’m having trouble getting to the right option because I can’t see it lol.

Also making a shortcut to BF4 seems to do nothing, as in the shortcut doesn’t even load any process in task manager, but that’s a different issue I don’t really care about

    Thanks

I Launched skyrim with SKSE and it worked fine for the most part. Even though I read in some documentation that it’s not supposed to work very well. I suggest downloading nexus mod manager even if you don’t want to mod it, it bypasses the launcher app.

The behaviour you expeience when clicking TESV.exe directly seems to be normal, it’s the same here. Looks like Steam detects that and then starts the launcher app rgardless what you clicked.

Regarding your original issue: did you check your Skyrim folder for a d3d9.dll (from an ENB mod for example)? While that is present vorpX will not work correctly. In case you use mods it might make sense in general to try a mod-less install first and then reinstall mods one by one. Most mods shouldn’t be a problem, but there might be some (especially when using the ‘Skyrim Script Extender’) that interfere with vorpX.

@ l3eerme: It seems Ralf did not understand what you were asking.
When you Open vorpX it tells you that you need to send an email to register |at| vorpx com with your request code in it. This is not done through vorpX, it is done through your email (gmail, yahoo, msn) account.
After you do this you will receive a key in some hours at your email address.
Once you have the key sent from vorpX you need to open vorpX and copy/paste the key there.

And for the record, I’m also waiting for my key. Yes I know it takes a while.

    Hello,

    Having a problem with Skyrim.

Every other game I’ve tried works fine, including other Steam games. I’ve made a vorpX desktop shortcut for TESV. The game launches, but in regular mode.

Resolution for both the monitor and the game is set to 1280×800, and it’s a new game install. I’ve tried having both the OR and monitor as the clone source.

The only thing I can think of that’s strange is that clicking both TESV and SkyrimLauncher bring up the launcher display… in other words, clicking TESV doesn’t immediately launch the game, like I thought it should. I’m stumped.

    Hi Alex

Just to be sure: Please double check that ‘vorpX Control’ is running. It shows a tray icon in your taskbar when it runs.

If you verified that vorpX Control is running and you still have issues with everything you try, it is very likely that something on your PC interferes with vorpX. There a are lot of programs that hook into games similar to vorpX and may cause problems.

First and foremost double and triple check for really everything that can show content over games. Chat programs like Skype, X-Fire, Evolve etc. and video recording software of all kind are hot candidates, and also anti-virus programs of course.

    Hello,

I have a Durovis Dive VR headset and Moga Pro game controller. The Android & PC app Kainy already lets me stream PC games to my Samsung Galaxy S3 but I would very much like to stream VorpX enabled SBS 3D content, as a low-cost wireless 3D gaming solution.

Unfortunately there is no demo version of VorpX to test this so I’m asking users and especially VorpX developers whether it will work via Kainy. I already understand there are precautions against use of VorpX and Splashtop but Kainy appears to capture screen data at a later state in the video chain so I’m not looking for the standard canned response.

Can someone confirm if VorpX been tested and works or does not work with Kainy? If the latter is true then getting it to work, or even better, adding native VorpX streaming and smartphone accelerometer support would represent a massive increase in customer base; as the cost of entry becomes only a PC, smartphone, and Durovis/vrAse adapter.
