I am pretty much sure the guy wasnt asking about FOV. A 360 degree FIELD OF VIEW would not make sense at all and confuse the eye completely.
i wanna just look left\right WITHOUT touching mouselook by VR headset.
can you tell us exactly what you meant by that ?
Is it possible to set up vorpx to a 360 degree view?
Yes, it’s emulate mouse look, but i wanna just look left\right WITHOUT touching mouselook by VR headset.
Is it possible or not?
What is the option in the game menu of vorbX where I can only play with the gamepad? I rarely use the Rift Touch Controller.
How can I keep my controller settings with vorbX, for example when I played GTA V, Balltlefront 2 with gamepad or keyboard, I do not want the vorbX to dictate its occupancy, I rarely use the Oculus Touch Controller.
vorbX is slowly fun but constantly new problems, not suitable for a beginner
I also wonder why vorbX must be so complicated, that is a reason that many vorbX hate and talk bad, without this forum it looks much worse.
Hi,
Is it possible to make compatible Oculus Touch & Index controllers for World of Warcraft ?
Play this game in VR is a dream really but VorpX is useless for game if it’s for play with the keyboard and the mouse.
I’m not talking of full 100% compatible but just for the buttons & joysticks of controllers.
Thank you if you have the information
Hello v2VR.
It is quite strange, I have been considering buying an Oculus Rift for £200 off gumtree this past few days and I decided to hop on this forum to see how good the software supports different games etc.
GTA IV is my favourite game of ALL TIME.
Could you please keep in touch with me, I would be interested in getting this game working over all others, I just love the worldscape R* created with their version of NYC in this game.
I have tried to mod this game in the past (ENBs etc) but gave up because of the weird conditions you need to do like downgrading your game (and even then there are disputes as to which version to use etc). Did you have to downgrade?
Update: It wasn’t freezing after all, just needed to hit alt tab… but inside the game I can’t turn my head. View is fixed on what’s right in front of me. And right thumb stick will not rotate on the touch controller, but the buttons work. Tried a direct VR scan but it keeps failing. Any ideas? I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both Vorpx and fallout. No mods. Using the Vorpx cloud profile.
I answer as much as I can:
You shouldn’t have to do anything besides running the DirectVR scanner once you entered the game world (not in the menu).
Use the official profile with default settings. If you already tinkered with settings, restore the profile in the config app (trouble shooting page) or do a full factory reset.
I would recommend to set the Skyrim SE graphics details to medium for a decent performance/quality ratio.
For custom resolutions please check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the help. Ideally add all resolutions listed there (except the wide ones for Pimax headsets).
You can restart the headset in the Oculus app: Settings > Beta. Your issues aren’t normal though, so you might also want to check for potentially interfering background programs. The trouble shooting guide in the help lists typical candidates.
Touch controllers work either as mouse/keyboard or as gamepad, no force feedback.
I just got Rift S, and was before playing Skyrim SE. Don’t feel like buying the SkyrimVR and messing with mods again. I’ve been looking through forum posts and can’t seem to find any “all-in-one” post that would show how to get Skyrim SE working through VorpX. I did get VorpX installed and it seems to be injecting, but the game only shows on my monitor screen with VorpX logo on the bottom and nothing in the Rift S headset.
I use 4K monitor. RTX 2080, 32GB RAM and a good i7 8000 series CPU, SSD M.2.
Oculus works fine. When VorpX tries to inject (all latest versions), it sometimes crashes the driver, and even Oculus interface stops showing in the Headset. I have to restart PC to resolve that. I believe before you could reset the headset in the Oculus settings, but I cant see that setting now.
Can someone please point me to a good thread/link, that explains
1. how to properly inject Vorpx into Skyrim SE? Seems to be obvious, but it doesn’t seem to be injecting. I know I need to disable GeForce Experience and probably switch to a single monitor. I can do that. Anything else?
2. what custom resolution should I set on my monitor that would be good for my PC specs and provide smooth gamplay
3. what VorpX settings are preferred for Skyrim SE, I tried one profile, but something wasn’t right.
4. are there any VR specific mods I need to get for Skyrim SE to make the game more enjoyable through VorpX. I currently have about 200 mods, but they are not VR related.
5. Will the Oculus touch controllers work in VorpX, or do I have to download a mod
6. Will the force feedback work for controllers, or do I need a mod. I know there are some heptic mods for controllers, but those mods are for SkyrimVR
7. Any other recommendations, I would greatly appreciate.
I’ll do some more forum browsing, as much as work will allow me, but I’d definitely appreciate some guidance on the above.
Much thanks in advance!
Also, I am really glad that Ralf keeps pushing the envelope further. Bought VorpX in 2016, so big kudos for constantly improving the VorpX.
btw I’m not able to use touch controllers because of quadriplegia … so twice as happy – vorpX helpining me a lot – thanks
ok,the thing is that asw introduce no ghosting effect but stutter every couple of seconds, any idea why only on vorpx?Could be related to gamepad input?I use dual shock 4 with ds4windows only in vorpx,in native vr games i use the ocolus touch controllers…Anyway thanks
I still have shader authoring of official profiles on the list, I hear you guys. It has to be foolproof though (i.e. easily revertible) and that’s where things get messy. I have to touch parts of the profile database system that I haven’t touched in three years and would rather leave alone forever, as it involves changes in the core app, the config app and the online database code.
I haven’t forgotten about it, but doing this right will cost time I don’t really have ATM. Far more than I imagined myself when I carelessly announced to do this. Eventually it will happen, I just can’t really say when.
Oh, i failed to mention that i’m using the Oculus Touch controllers, sorry. And this is The Witcher 2 BTW.
But on the Oculus Touch page there are only 6 settings, and none of them controls the sensitivity of the thumbsticks. I just found out that here i can switch to from Gamepad to Kbd, and then i can adjust the sensitivity of the sticks. The issue is that in this case i’m losing the different moving speeds on the left stick, because i’m in Kbd mode, and this is binary (run or stop).
Is there a way around this? Any way to adjust the stick sensitivity of Touch controllers in gamepad mode?
Is it equally difficult for you to trigger the right grip action or is it just the left one?
I raised the grip action threshold on Touch to 0.85 or 0.9 (can’t remember currently) due to complaints every once in a while that it was too easy to trigger the grip action accidentally e.g. during an intense fight.
The full range coming in from the Oculus runtime is 0.0-1.0, so even considering some deviations between controllers every device that is halfway in order should easily reach 0.9 one would think. Worked fine with both sets (1 original, 1 Rift S) of Touch controllers I have here at least.
When using the gamepad emulation, I can’t get map-shift working even though the option is enabled and the controller visualization shows map-shift where the grip-button is on the left touchpad controller…also when I turn off swap B and Y, the B button does not work on the right touchpad controller, I have to turn on swap B and Y and then B only works with the left touchpad controller. I tried saving the settings and restarting vorpx and even rebooting…still having these problems.
