Hey Ralf :D Today is a very important day to me and a lot of other people, today is the day they finally release the remaster of Diablo II after 21 years. And here I am thinking to myself, “I’ve had so much fun playing other non FPP games using the immersive screen mode, I bet ‘Diablo II: Resurrected’ would look sweet in 3D!” So here I am, hoping maybe you could make us a kickass profile to play this game with. I’m afraid I don’t have much insight into what engine they might be using other then VicariousVisions has used Unreal engines for their previous remasters ie the recent Tony Hawk remaster. I also heard from another source that they used their own custom engine for the remaster. Anyways, thanks in advance! I know for sure this game would be EPIC in 3D!!

Anyone got any clue to get this working? Can’t hook it.. And from my research it seems this is Unreal Engine(compared to their other games like Theif Simulator which is Unity, but that has its own VR version), so why can’t it be hooked?

Uh yeah, just realized this modifier isn’t exposed to the authoring menu. Sorry for the confusion. I’ll put that on my to-do-list. No promises though, I’m swamped with stuff ATM.

BTW: Also just realized that the game is an Unreal Engine 4 game. The option would be useless in that case anyway, BUT: Normally it should be no problem to find a shader that affects just the HUD and nothing else, at least I never came across any UE4 game so far where defining a HUD shader wasn’t possible.

Hey rjk do you mind providing your email or anywhere I could send you game request that should be fixable , I do a lot of game hunting and have found a lot that use the unity and unreal engine but I know sometimes I have trouble fixing it on my own so I figured why not send them to you to try

sorry for my mistake, I remembered it was developed with unity, instead it uses unreal engine 4. on the cloud I uploaded the profile, starting from a copy of Observer.

It seems to be an Unreal 4 engine game. I tried the demo and had mixed results. I’ll write about it later when I have time. I started with a copy from Mordhau profile, but I can’t remember what more I did.

You’ll need to run the game in dx11 mode though, buy adding the -d3d11 launch option in steam properties.

There are a variety of shadow modifying options to choose from in the shader authoring UI. With some luck the ‘Invert’ option can fix certain types of shadows entirely. Games use a plethora of different shadow algorithms though, so that just works for some games.

For DX9 games you can also program your own replacement shaders by exporting disassembled shaders and modifying their code. If you have some shader programming knowledge, that enables you to fix all kinds of shadows perfectly. Currently DX9 only.

Best practice without programming knowledge: first and foremost leave the 3D-Strength at realistic levels, i.e. no exaggerated ‘dollhouse’ 3D. That’s not what VR (and thus vorpX) is about. In reality stereo 3D is a fairly subtle effect except for things quite close to your eyes. Without unrealistically exeggarated 3D the ‘No 3D’/’No Tranform’ shadow modifier can often be enough to bring down shadow glitches to acceptable levels. Not perfect, but easy to do.

I really thanks for your kindness again
I want to fix my Unreal Engine 4 game now.
The base profile provided by vorpx is that one of Conan Exiles. After copying from this,
then added exe file on it,I succeeded in implementing g3d in a few other games . For example, Ace Combat7 is that one.
But the problem is the depth of the hud.
    Basically it has zero value
But in game of the conan exiles , as you said, when I moving the 3 vorpx HUD sliders then it changes the depth and size of the hud. That means hud working at 3d
But in the ace combat7 game which I want to fix when I move the slider but it doesn’t make any changes at all.
    How can i solve this?

try halo masterchief collection profile, Z3D works great.

create a profile based on this one. and tweak to your liking.

and dont forget to use unreal engine unlocker tool to get higher fov.

edit : i just shared my profile on the cloud.

If i my give a comment on this. Its a shame how bad some newer game engines perform. My personal recommendation, most games with the Unreal 3 engine have awsome graphics and you can play most of them even on an I3 Cpu with a GTX 970 with VorpX and medium settings.

Hard to say if an upgrade will bring you that much. Some newer games just eat up too much on resources. I personally play older games in max resolutions and swap over to newer games when better hardware is available to give a proper performance. (I am a fan of image quality too and i couldnt stand playing a game on 1080p or so).

Something you could do right away to boost perfomance though was using cinema screens, they perform better then Full VR.You can even lower resolutions while doing so without loosing visible quality.

Trying to get Psychonauts 2 to run in VR with VorpX. The game uses Unreal Engine 4. Anyone get the game working with Vorpx?

@ DADDY: I tested more tonight in both OpenXR and SteamVR and things are behaving as normal. If by chance your are using an oculus hmd, try setting vorpX in SteamVR mode and see if that works.

@ luka: in some Unreal 4 games it is common to have a slight black tint on some surfaces when viewed at certain angles, which appears a different shade for each eye in stereo. I’m not sure if it can be solved, but it should not be always prominent. Switching between G3D/Z3D on the fly can sometimes cause similar effects, so avoid that.

I tested some more with shadows, and you should be safe to choose whichever Shadow Quality setting you prefer from medium to ultra. Contact Shadows should be set to off however, as I failed to mention above. Now things look better in sunlight.

Also, the AMD FSR setting seams to work fine for a little performance boost. You can experiment with that in the game’s Advanced Graphics settings. It works on my nvidia card, and for me Ultra Quality seemed a good compromise for 1440p.

    Hello ,
Just wanted to report that The Isle with the Beta Evrima is not running with my Ark Profile.

But thanks to “Dellrifter22″ his tip with the latest Unreal 4 Profile from …”Medieval Dynasty” in G3D!
The crocodile looks fantastic in 3D VR !!

All servers can be reached, so Anticheat does not prevent Vorpx from hocking itself.

    Regards
    Thomas3D
