jjenssonParticipantDoes Black Mesa support G3D without issues with the shadows?
I’m almost done with Witcher 3 (after over 180 hours :) and would like to replay all HL games before i dive into HL:Alyx. So Black Mesa is already installed. []-)

jjenssonParticipantHmmm, seems i gotta try it out again. Thx.

jjenssonParticipantI’ll take this chance to ask about a related topic. Is it possible to turn off the monitor once i’m in a game in VorpX? I remember i tried at the beginning and had some massive problems (freezes requiring a PC reboot etc), but maybe the problems were caused by something else…
So what’s the suggestion: is it OK to turn my monitor off, to save some electricity, or is it not recommended?
jjenssonParticipantI wonder as well, what happened to the site? I often link to the VorpX compatible games list in forums (Reddit mostly), and lately it redirects to the VorpX forum…
jjenssonParticipantDo you mean the Imaginarium ENB from PhoenixFabricio?
jjenssonParticipantGood to know, thanks!
jjenssonParticipantBut does ReShade work with VorpX though?
jjenssonParticipantI don’t think there is any way to test it beforehand, sadly. I wish Ralf would release a test version with limited functionality – it would boost the popularity of this brilliant tool.
The fact that it is the best at what it does (turning a huge list of PC games into semiVR) and the completely new and much better way to play them – it should be a no-brainer to pay even double or triple the current price without second thought.
AFAIK, the program is tied to your hardware/installation, so you can’t just give it to someone else. IMO this is the most negative thing about VorpX – as soon as you have a new install/system, you need to register online again and get a new key. That means that if VorpX is discontiued (like with TriDef) you lose it as soon as you change to a new computer, or even reinstall Windows. :-(
jjenssonParticipantAh, wonderful news, Ralf. While i’m not a fan of OpenGL, there are some games from the past 20 years that i wouldn’t want to miss in VorpX. :)
BTW, would this benefit old Unreal Engine games running on an OpenGL renderer as well?
jjenssonParticipantIn the past it was not advisable to try to use ENB and VorpX at the same time. But since i am myself a big fan of ENB, i’d always be interested in ways to get it to work 100%.
So, i’m watching this space for replies. :)
jjenssonParticipantFor what it’s worth, i’m a big opponent of forced updates, so if there is an option to postpone an update in VorpX or roll-back, i would gladly know about it.
As a freelancer artist i know better than update a software mid-project, and the same goes for VorpX or the game itself – as long as it works, i’d rather not change *anything* until i finish the game.
jjenssonParticipantAnd, it works! Finally i can use Edge Peek again. :)
jjenssonParticipantAh, interesting workaround. I’ll try that tonight. Unfortunately my own workaround was using the cinema mode, and i dearly miss Edge Peek. :)
Thanks!
jjenssonParticipantYeah, i agree – such a classic like Max Payne 1/2 should be in the VorpX library sooner or later (even if dgVoodoo2 is needed).
jjenssonParticipantWonderful! Thanks for looking into it so quickly.
