KarlorParticipant
I noticed that when I connected my controller after I had GTA V running the game didn’t pick it up. This could be good for people if they have an Xbox controller. You could use a program to map keyboard keys to your Xbox controller then start your game, then turn on your controller. Not sure if it will work. Also try messing with the dead zone settings in game. I got some of the stutter effect to be more manageable with that.
KarlorParticipantJust got GTA V installed and vorpX hooked no problem. I haven’t messed with any FOV tricks yet but I just squashed it a some with the 2d FOV and zoomed out. It has a letter box effect like this but it gives you an idea of what it would be like after tuning it in with hacks/mods. Great job on getting a profile up so soon!
This game should work perfect after some tuning in and optimizing from Rockstar(increased FOV, turn off controller option, unlock camera during certain things). They also need to optimize it better for PC. I had everything on recommended and it stuttered around a lot. Then I maxed out everything and it actually ran better(better but not great).
As far as vorpx goes though it works great so far!
KarlorParticipantHmmm.. the only other things I could think of would be to double check and make sure you have the rift set to Extend desktop to hmd, make sure the resolution is set in system settings and make sure everything is up to date. Hope you can get it figured out.
KarlorParticipantNo kidding its slow lol Installing this game reminded me of the old days when it would take longer to get the game running then you even had interest in playing it. I hope GTA 5 was worth the wait and head aches lol I’ll know in about another hour and half.
KarlorParticipantNo prob, under “general” settings, up near the top left of the general page you can find some output settings. Not in game vorpx(del) but the vorpX config.
KarlorParticipantOne time this happened to me and all I had to do was go into vorpX config and set the output to Oculus Rift. Worth a shot anyway.
KarlorParticipantNot sure if this will work with GTA 5 but mite be worth a try. If you have a playstation controller and you use motion joy you set the controller up as direct input. that way the game mite not pick it up as an xbox controller. then you can use joy 2 key to map keyboard and mouse to the controller. this trick has worked for me in the past. I’m still installing so I don’t know if it works yet.
KarlorParticipantJust wanted to say I have been messing around with the new Crouch/Jump set up. It’s pretty cool! I still need to do some fine tuning to the settings but so so good. Its pretty slick.
I was wondering in edge peek mode would it be possible to have the ambiance effect to the outside instead of black? Just an idea. Anyway great new feature.
KarlorParticipantI changed settings in data\menus\prefabs\DUIF3Setting.xml
Maybe an important note: screenshots and settings are from Fallout 3.
Almost forgot – this is the only HUD mod I’ve tried so far.OK I’ll check that out moving those would be great. I noticed it was Moriarty’s after looking closer :) I think a lot of the mods I listed probably have a Fallout 3 equivalent. You got a lot of adjustment from just editing the file. In NV you can use the mod menu to move them around with arrow keys. The only thing is that it doesn’t have all the HUD, like item/text boxes.
This mod is a life saver too. It lets you adjust the FOV of Iron sights. I set my in game FOV to 120 with the FOV slider mod. Then in this mod you set the iron sights all to 120 FOV. Now when you raise up it doesn’t zoom or anything your just on your own with your wits and your sights. I love it, Its challenging in all the good ways.

The 2 I like a lot are the FOV slider and Pipboy Menu Tab. The FOV slider saves your FOV settings up to 160 with the need for console every time. It also lets you change Pipboy FOV and Terminal FOV. Pipboy tabbing is a life saver as it lets you navigate the Pipboy menus with whatever you use for your movement keys. No more trying to click stuff in VR you can just navigate around.KarlorParticipantOk I gave it a shot setting them both to 1 and still the same pipboy screen location. VorpX 8 must of changed it some, it was floating before. It was still a bit of a pain then but the it was easier. Any way I’ll keep trying settings just to see if I can get it to change.
KarlorParticipantJust send your info again, they’ll fix you up. you don’t need to buy again don’t worry.
KarlorParticipantyou could do a rough fit outside the rift then use vorpx edge peak to help tune it in.
KarlorParticipantTry the camera mod out with vorpX? It should technically “work” but might need adjusting. There is a cool Skyrim mod that lets you change all the HUD around in a lot of ways. Less intrusive HUD 2 I think, something like that.
KarlorParticipantI also tried a bit more permanent solution: Darnified UI allows to setup all HUD elements manually,
I set up most of my HUD with a few mods and It’s now a lot better. The only thing is there are still some HUD elements that you can’t move. Have you found a mod that lets you adjust where the activate(talk/pickup) text appears and things like that? Also being able to adjust the size of the HUD element would be great. Found any that do that? There is a great mod for Skyrim that lets you adjust basically everything(size, location, angle) its crazy. Would be great to have one that does all that for Fallout.
ok,I have information here, possibly useful…
I will try out this tweak thanks
