ParticipantNot really a solution, and not possible for Z3D (i think). I suppose that the screen is meant to be centered vertically, so that you have the most realistic 3D effect.

ParticipantThe solution for the grainy camera control at low speeds was simple. (Different DPI settings for the mouse didn’t have any effect, btw.)
In the vorpX menu, i discovered thumbstick sensitivity settings for the gamepad and set the right stick very high (1.00), while setting the mouse sensitivity in-game very low (0.15). Now super slow camera movements are very smooth, and i can take my time when enjoying the diverse beauty of the Witcher world. :)

ParticipantCan only speak from my personal experience: When i tried Witcher 2 three years ago, the Z3D mode didn’t work either, it had almost no depth, and i was forced to use G3D (with the only downside that some of the dynamic shadows were a bit glitchy). So, not sure if it was ever functional to begin with.

ParticipantWould be nice to have some info on this. I played DL2 on flatscreen last year, and at first i thought that it’s not as good as the first one. Then i replayed DL1 and clearly my memory was better of it than it was in reality.
What i’m saying is that it’s a great game with much future potential. If it gets the same treatment from Techland as the DL1, DL2 could even surpass it in the end.
I’ll definitely would love to replay it with vorpX sometime later this year.

ParticipantYes, that worked! I didn’t realize that the start/menu buttons on the gamepad are better contenders. And if i want to switch between motion controllers to gamepad every other game session, it’s seems to be best practice to either use the controllers, or just leave them off and only turn on the gamepad. VorpX does adapt to the current config. And one of the advantages of WMR is that it can be used with an xBox controller. :)
The only thing that i still need to figure out is that at low stick deviations (= slow camera), the camera starts to feel jerky (“ruckeln”). It seems that the data is not interpolated at very slow speeds. Hmm, maybe i could try to raise the DPI of my mouse driver, and lower the sensitivity in game… Not sure if it will make a difference.

ParticipantAh, got it, thank you! And it seems to work. The right stick changes the button prompts to keyboard, but i guess this is needed for the headtracking to work.
One last question, because this is giving me problems. The gamepad shortcut for vorpX menu is “press left stick”. Unfortunately this breaks the Witcher 3 shortcut for “call horse” (“double press left stick”).
Is it possible to change the vorpX menu shortcut to “long press left stick”? It would be more logical as well, because when i need the vorpX menu, i’m never in a hurry.
If this is not possible, what’s the workaround here, besides completely disabling the menu shortcut? Obviously TW3 cannot sacrifice any of the gamepad keys (it needs them all), and the “edge peek” shortcut is too important to disable.

ParticipantBTW, when i tried starting TW3 without switching-on the WMR controllers – the xBox controller worked, but the right stick (camera) did not. I made sure to disable all software that could interfere (reWASD and STEAM were *not* running).
In essence i want to play TW3 in vorpX with xBox controller, so that i have the analog movement and some other advantages over the WMR controllers. That’s the reason i’m trying to solve this issue.

ParticipantI’m using the regular version of vorpX (with Reverb G2).
Unfortunately, i still haven’t found a “disable motion controllers” option. There are two pages in the in-game menu that relate to controls (sorry for the blurry screenshots, TTL is difficult):
Is that option missing in my setup?
MarcDwonn
ParticipantThanks, Ralf. For now i’ve downgraded to the regular version of vorpX and TW3. I will miss some of the game- or HUD-related changes of v4.0. But the devs changed the colors of some weathers as well (the results are not convincing IMO), so in the end i’m not sad about staying with the classic version.
It runs great in Z3D on RTX3080 + Reverb G2, and looks almost as good as G3D.

Participantredundant, pls delete

ParticipantOne of the reasons why i never play games that can’t be played offline. Imagine not being able to play Deus Ex, Half-Life, Dishonored anymore, because the publisher shuts down the servers! Never invest in something that you don’t have control over.
I feel your frustration though. Lone Echo is one of the very few native VR games that reach flat game quality level, and the MP part probably is super fun.

ParticipantThx, Ralf. Does v4 work only with AF3D, or can it run in Z3D as well? Is it for DX11 or DX12?
MarcDwonn
ParticipantI agree, it’s annoying to get Stück. :)
But seriously, i tried v4 DX11 in Z-Normal and had the same experience – no 3D. I catched a quick glimpse of a vorpX message, similar to “this version is incompatible”. I guess that there’s no profile for v4 yet.
MarcDwonn
ParticipantI read in another post that DX12 will probably not be an option (plus, Witcher 3 uses DX11>DX12 layer by MS, which means it probably will never run well with RT). Oh well, since i’ve got the feeling that v4 DX11 looks worse than v1.31/32 i may roll back and stay with the classic release. It feels like they changed weather and postprocessing for the worse in v4 (except *Blood And Wine*, which looks much better in the new version :)
MarcDwonn
ParticipantOh, BTW, does the DX12 renderer of v4 (Next Gen Update) have a vorpX profile yet?
