Am I doing something wrong? I installed Vorpx VR for Cyberpunk and selected middle option for Quest 3 in Configure CyberpunkVR. My Quest 3 is connected through link, Oculus app is running and shows headset and controller as connected. When I run CP2077 I get a message

No Oculus/Meta headset found. vorpX will not work correctly. If you have a Quest headset, make sure Quest Link is enabled on your Quest
If you don’t have an Oculus/Meta headset, please select the right headset type in the vorpX config app.

I’ll try the OpenXR, but this appropriate version doesn’t seem to work?

Not only is this game ‘Not that good’, its f-ing terrible. I dunno how the devs could have screwed up a winning formula so bad. X1,2,3 and 4 are all decent… this one is just difficult for no reason in particular. IMO it feels similar to Wing Commander Privateer 2, but WWWAAAAAYY more difficult. It took me a couple hours of searching to find out that you need to contract out someone to move your goods and get a trade agent on a station… who the heck thought that would be a good idea?!?!

I bought Elite Dangerous recently and I have to say, its 1000x better than Rebirth and I’m a huge X fan. In my twenties I clocked 100’s of hours into X and X2. I just wish they added some story or purpose to ED instead of just flying around making money. There is PVP so that’s cool but otherwise there isn’t much to do. I really enjoyed the story behind X even if it kind of fell apart in 3. Anyway Ralf, I really hope you can add VorpX to some other space trading games if possible. Star Control Origins or well anything else on steam?

Sorry, buddy, bur I disagree. Out of all the X games, I really enjoyed the Rebirth and even more X4:F. Have hundreds of hours into both (300+ in XR and probably 700 in X4, most of them obviously station running in AFK making money).

With X4, I have several restarts, modded and vanilla. There are issues, especially in Vanilla, but I overall like what they did. X4 is more superior technologically, improves on the other games. A lot of people love X3 the most. I can’t say otherwise, but the X4 was a good step forward. It just always takes them a long time to polish the games, release expansion, content, ships, etc. So when expansions are out hopefully by the end of this year 1st DLC should be out, I may give X4 another go, or wait until the last DLC. I started really playing XR 3 years after release and it was a completely different game.

What about custom resolution, or should I just go with 4K – 3200×2400?

It seems that you haven’t played long enough to produce a viable result in comparison with VorpX engaged. Play without VorpX for about 2 hours, see if problem comes back. As I understand it, when you use VorpX, you render the game differently, which requires additional resources. Also, make sure you don’t overclock your CPU and GPU because overclocking produces all kinds of artifacts after a while and decreases the life span of your hardware.

Can’t wait, Ralf! Should I say “please make it a priority”, or it’s obvious? :) Thank you for all you do!!!

Finally got my OTouch few days ago, tried it, its awesome. Immersion is amazing to the point that when I took the Headset off, it felt as if my real hands were virtual… Weird weird feeling… waiting on amazing Ralf to integrate it into VorpX, woohoo!

@ reanor: At some point in the future there will be a paid upgrade, but Touch support will be part of the current free vorpX update cycle.

Thanks, Ralf! Has anyone told you yet how awesome you are?! :) I mean, without your enthusiasm, the VR world today would be so much less fun…

Would be really awesome to adventure in Skyrim with Oculus touch. Will that be a separate module we need to purchase from you, Ralf (don’t mind at all, if I do), or part of Vorpx?

Mvanderlans, how is Primax? Does it really have 4K resolution per eye? I hear that this VR headset uses LCD screens and all kinds of complaints for image quality… If you have any other headset (CV1, HTC, PSVR) can you compare the experience? Also. does Primax have head tracking, or in general, how different is it from Oculus CV1? Is the picture quality really 4K? Also, don’t you need to have super duper GPU, like 4 Pascal Titans, considering that you’d need to render 4K image twice and even 1080 in SLI can’t do it…

I have oculus 1.10 and used the new hotfix.
I must say I notice no difference or performance improvement with ASW. Everything seems exactly the same for me as before. Does anyone else notice any kind of improvement?
Do you have to enable or activate ASW or is it automatically active?
I am running Windows 7 and the oculus home page lists Windows 8 or newer as a requirement. Is it possible that ASW is not working in Windws7 or maybe the benefit is just very subtle and not easily noticeable?

I think you need Windows 8/ Windows 10 for ASW to work properly. Also, considering that development platform for VorpX is windows 10, I recommend to upgrade your Windows, or much better – Install a fresh Windows 10.

I play Skyrim and before ASW, playing in Geometry mode (full 3D) was almost impossible (GTX 1080). Now, I can actually play Skyrim SE in Geometry mode, thanks to ASW and lowering down a few settings here and there. It’s not perfect, but I don’t mind and my brain doesn’t seem to object, I don’t get nauseous at all.

Took me like 20 minutes to redownload the installer 44MB… With 100Mbps internet… Ralf needs better ISP. :P

Gotcha, thanks! That eliminates the SDK and SteamVR config headaches. There was another thread, however, where even after increasing the in-game resolutions, using SDK override added additional sharpness/clarity to the game image even with already increased resolutions, but I guess it’s all a question of how much your PC can handle.
