I had a similar problem today. The game was jumpimg may be 50 px in the X-Y-Z direction when i slightly moved my head. After doing some debugging i came to the result that because headtracking is mousebound in (some) games, the X and Y sensitivity of the game can be too high. I my case i lowered the mouse sensitivity way under the minimun setting of the game (ini-tweak) the headtracking now works smooooother then ever !

GTA 5 is G3D, yes thats what the list says. Where did you read that ?

PS: this is a “FANs” list and has nothing official to do with vorpX.

The whole Direct VR part as well as positional tracking has almost no meaning for all platformers/adventures/strategy games (and many third person games) that are obviously played best on the cinema screen. Your list insinuates that such games are barely working while in fact the exact opposite is true,

i would agree with that. Since most games can be played with vorpx anyway, i think a list would only make sense if you can overlook if a game supports G3D or not, (which i think) is the most important feature of all.

BTW: Concerning this i freshed up my Engine List a bit, so someone can quickly ckeck if a game runs in G3D or not. Not more or less.

Comments on this list are welcome.

I just phoned my dealer. He said faster ram then 2400-2600 wouldnt make sense because theres no cpu that can provide this. ( with overclocking – yes of coarse).

We were talking about my setup which is an ASUS B150-Pro with DDR4-2133Mhz and an I7-6700k. He said even that uptodate cpu can only provide 2133 mhz ram speed at max. (not-overclocked). So i guess you must do some heavy overclocking to reach 3000Mhz and above.

Anyway thanks for that hint with steamVR, ill try that tonight.

PS: pricing for fast GPus has exploded because of “bitcoin mining” the dealer said , when i asked him about the nvidia rumors, he comfirmed something beeing in the pipeline.

Yes, but what does that mean 1.5 or times faster. Does it provide 67.5 or 90 instead of 45 FPS ?

    I am guessing you own a 1080 , right ?

How high can you go in resolution until you dont see no more change in quality ?

I am trying to find out under what conditions it would make sense to buy a 1080 and how far i can raise the resolution at all to still improve quality .

    Thanks Ralf,

will get shorter and shorter with every new release.

Beating the 3D Vision List one day would be something ;-)

and, yes i know what you mean. Thats the same thing as when the users dont read the terms befor signing into a website. They just dont read it. Then a huge amount of users buy something, try it, leave it alone, this is how it goes with many products in main. On the other hand there are useres like me who want to get absolute control over something like your great software. (Thats why i suggested a preset editor or something likely before, so intense users can dig more deeply in their 2000+ game “VR” collection ;-)

Ill see if anyone will respond to this. In the main i am trying to write this wiki for myself for a better use of VorpX, so why not sharing it.

Hope some guys will help me .

I know Ralf and a i wanted to use them as a base of a small wiki, but for that i would need some sceenshots first.

May be i should have asked you before. If you have any doubts on this of coarse i will withdraw my intention. Would you mind ?

    With today i am starting a User-Wiki : http://megalist.interkohl.com/vorpX

Fist step is to collect screenshots of the VorpX ingame menu. From this will start writing a wiki for each setting. I have no idea how to take them. :-/

Please note: my knowledge of vorpX is still relatively poor so any imaginable help will be appreciated.

please use this email for submissions VorpX Wiki submissions

Changes will be made immideately after a new submission has arrived

A good manual might prevent from all these questions ;-)

Ralf i have tried both. No Change. I think we put this little “problem” aside since the game is not an officially supported game. Fact is, (and because you write above Under normal circumstances ), setting this to OFF made this particular game playable in a good resolution without one glitch.

So PLEASE dont remove that setting !!!

When i finish this game i will try one which is officially supported and report back then if this behave persists.

So far, thanks for you kind response and i will add the new games to my engine list tomorrow to spread the word :-)

I hope i am not ruining your day, but what could possibly cause a flickering when in G3G Mode and Dir.Mode.async.Render = ON with Framerates around 60/60 ? (Alt+F) The hole screen including the VorpX Menu is flickering man :-(

Funny, here is just the opposite happening what you describe in an older post..

    Rolf said:

BTW: Disabling async rendering is not recommended unless a game safely runs at 90fps. Disabling it can cause severe judder/flicker in situations with really low framerates (below 30fps), so leaving it on is usually better to be on the safe side in that regard.

    It flickers when ON.

Thanks for answering so quick and please apologize my bad report. I hope i am not raising the impression of beeing a complainer :-/

    Thank you RJ

    Thanks for your hard work.

Unfortunately I have a similar to amlost same question. The new version seems to provide rather less framerates then the previos version. I also note a flickering vorpX menu and the game (i am playing Hunted:the demons forge a Beshesda Game, which ran extremely well before / in Geomentry Mode) now flickers (looks like framedrops every few seconds) even though ALT+F shows framerates of 45 or above. The only way to get rid of this but no higher FPS then 45 is to turn OFF Dir.Mode.Asnc.Render.

With the privious version i had framerates up to 80/90, this version doesnt come over 50 to 60. (18.1 neither)

Is it possible to roll back to 17.2 or so ? If not could you make this possible somehow. May be some PCs are different and might work better with an older version. I know i should have made a copy of vorpX befor updating, but that goes all so fast when mistakely going online and i have no idea how to fix this :-(

i would almost beg for a rollback option.

PS: Lowering resolution does not help with the flickering, there must be wrong something else.

Here i have some values which were much higher before:
    Dir.Mode.async.Render ON – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync ON 45/58
    Dir.Mode.async.Render ON – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync OFF 45/59
    Dir.Mode.async.Render OFF – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync OFF 45/45

You may tray a Skyrim profile for G3D or any profile which supports “The Devision”, You also could try a profile which works with Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Far Cry 3, Just Dance Nowany or any other 3D ubisoft game past 2014 (not guaranteed). The all use the same engine as far i was able to discover.
