How did you manage to convert from a DX8 title to VR ? May be you talk to Ralf about this secret ! (Thinking of the recent DGvoodoo discussion).
RJK_ParticipantIn the reddit forums i read the following.
I’ve used Virtual Desktop on Win7, and it’s fine. It doesn’t have good performance for more esoteric stuff like looking at Ansel images, or 3D video playback, because Win7 doesn’t support the latest desktop imaging APIs. For normal use as a launcher and modest web browsing, it works well,
Could the vorpX Desktop Viewer at least be used for “For normal use as a launcher and modest web browsing” under WIN7 ? (May be inofficial ? Or would that make no sense at all ?
RJK_ParticipantOh i understand. I was not updating yet to WIN 8 because i am afraid of many “older” games possibly not working anymore on that system.
So i am guessing there wouldnt be any other tool which can do that on WIn7.
RJK_ParticipantHey that was fast. Thanks for the hint. I read about that earlier in the forum but i didnt know what you were talking about. – Sadly i only have WIN7. Is there a reason that only Win8/10 is supported ?
RJK_ParticipantI must correct my lst posting. Some savers have a nice 3D effect, try Skyrocket , Lattice for example in the largest possible screensize or fullVR. Dont run “plasma” when youve been drinking
PS: above i meant “… or a newer version of vorpx now allows while a saver is running pressing DEL and mousemoves while the ingame menu is active “
RJK_ParticipantEither i must go to see the doctor or a newer version of vorpx now allows pressing DEL and mousemoves while the ingame menu is open on (at least openGL) Screensavers.
I was playing around with these free openGL savers http://www.reallyslick.com/screensavers/ and they look quite neat on the vive. No 3D effect but nice colours spinning around .
RJK_ParticipantRJK_ParticipantInteresting i had exactly the same issue, just in the oppsite way. The game was too jittery, when lowering the settings i was able to even out the headtracking but then it was too low.

RJK_ParticipantYou now me by now
so those who have some basic knowledge about 3d graphics and want to invest some time will also be able to get access to more powerful authoring features on request. Becoming a profile author will unlock almost everything that previously was only available in internal authoring builds.
Can we still have hope on this ?
Feb 22, 2018 at 12:15am in reply to: Is there any way to play SBS ps2 games on vorpx using pcsx2? #171130RJK_ParticipantI saw an emulator thread somewhere in this forum, you may check those out.
RJK_ParticipantToday i was playing with the settings i mentioned above. Wasnt still not much satisfied with it and tweaked up and down all day.
In this game headtracking can be tweaked but it takes a very long time to find good settings. So i thought in vorpx something like “headtracking speed” or “headtracking gain” or a “headtracking shift value” could help finding the right scale beetween where headtracking takes effect and the max. turning angle. In this game you must turn mouse sensitivity way down plus headtracking sensitivity to reach a smooth headtracking, on the other hand the angle you can turn your head is very low. – Turning values back, very easy bring back shaking into the headtracking.
I am not shure if i understand “head tracking latency” right, this setting doesnt seem to have any effect in this game, does this value prevent from headtracking taking effect “too early” or what does it do ?
Just an idea , i would guess other games behave like this one too. This one is using the UN3 engine.
RJK_Participantnot 90% of all games out there.
RJK_ParticipantBecause i have most of these games THAT was definately a great info !!!
RJK_ParticipantThank you very much !
RJK_ParticipantIf you come across this post searching for a solution for headtracking jittering or a messed up headtracking with Hunted, try the folllowing:
Lower down X and Y Axis sensitivity to 0, then find the file “DFInput.ini” under user/hunted somewhere and change this: MouseSensitivity=10.000000.
If you are not satisfied with the result in or decrease that value.
Lower values make headtracking smoother. -
