any setting I can change so when i move my head my gun stays in the same position,i have enabled head tracking on the main page of vorpx but when i move my head in game the gun moves too and I aim with my head

I don’t think that decoupled aim/movement will be possible?

Please use the original Bioshock (in DX9 mode). A profile for the remaster exists in the currrent dev build, but isn’t available yet.

The remaster doesn’t make much sense BTW. since the original Bioshock performs a lot better with vorpX while looking almost identical. Unless you stand directly in front of a wall you will hardly notice any difference. Absolutely not worth it considering the performance drop compared to the original.

Thanks, I was just trying to get this working last night after having such great results with Infinite. I guess I’ll try to find a copy of the original game instead, it’s just easier to find the remaster these days…

    Skyrim SE???
Not sure if you set it already but if not try it with 1920×1440 resolution set manually in Skyrim.prefs and set the Fov 110 110 in game using the console.

This was the main reason to buy it and works really good.

I have adjusted the size of everything a little 😛

Also, do you see any performance loss while playing more than…let´s say an hour?

I’m also impressed with the head tracking with the new DirectVR implementation. My only problem is that the FOV scan always fails, and when I try to set a FOV of 110 in the console the view initially changes, but when I close the console the FOV goes back to what it was before…

So far it’s a huge improvement though, this, FAllout 4 and Bioshock Infinite are a joy to play in VR now. Just not sure why I can’t get the original Bioshock Remastered edition working…

I got the same problem…you need to use the webinstaller.

    That worked, thanks!

Well at least it’s not just me!

I also noticed that i’m getting a Chrome error dialogue box popping up after the download completes and the update is trying to install?

Was hoping to check out the fixes for the windows 10 anniversary choppy performance issues…

    EDIT:

I just tried again and after the download completes I get a Vorpx window saying “Closing Applications” followed by “Rolling Back Changes”. Then the window closes. If I look in the system tray i see the vorpx icon, but then it just disappears.

Trying to run Vorpx again just starts the update download process again…

This is related to the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Will work again with the next vorpX version.

Direct Head Tracking will also be enhanced a lot with the next update in various other ways. It’s now called Direct VR and depending on the game can also handle FOV and positional tracking. FO4 will be one of the games with full support for all three.

Great news! I had noticed some odd behaviour after updating to Windows 10 Anniversary, but didn’t know that the update was the casue of the problems. Looking forward to the update!

It’s because with vorpx running, the controller is emulating the keyboard, and autorun is not enabled by default. Just hit whatever key you have mapped to autorun, I think it’s caps lock.

Figured it was something simple, thanks!

    Back to Tamriel!

    Looks great, thanks!

My only other question now is, why is my movement so slow when using a gamepad/ left thumbstick? I guess I need to somehow map the ‘run’ option to the pad using the Vorpx mapping function?

movement with WASD is normally fast, but I’d prefer to play standing up and turning my head/body to change direction.

Sweet, and I’ve got the day off to play with it :)

Thanks for addressing the special edition even though the original might work better. I just got sick of dealing with all of the mods to get the original looking decent, so the special edition is nice for offering improved visuals without all of the hassle :)

Is there anyway to get nvidia 3D vision games to display in a virtual 3D desktop mode on the Rift?

What about games such as Trine 3 that even seems to offer native stereoscopic 3D options, including SBS? But which I can’t seem to get working in 3D using virutal desktop, bigscreen, envelop, or any of the others…

I’ve had nvidia 3D vision for years, but there didn’t seem to be anyway to get the games working on the Rift, which is what led me here. Unfortunately as pointed out here, many games require specific fixes to even work in desktop 3D mode…

I was hoping that the Rift would be a perfect display for all of my 3D vision games, but that dream was dashed very early… It’s just a pain to turn on the 3D projector, close all the curtains, and put on my 3D glasses just to play a game for a couple minutes…

Thanks, looks like my ini file had been set to ‘read only’…

    EDIT:

Thanks again, got it dialed in pretty well now, very cool. Just have to figure out the best combination of look sensitivity and HT sensitivity to make the head movement feel natural. Oh, and I’ll need a 1080ti asap! lol

Where will we find the custom profile if it gets posted? Will it be posted in this thread, or is there a section of the website that I’m missing that curates all of the updated profiles?

    Thanks!

Guess then I wasted my money by buying this app, as there is no refund possible I have read.

I bought it just for two games, star citizen and witcher 3. I know star citizen is not officially supported, so that’s ok if it does not work well (I do not like the way it looks with vorpx), but if I can’t even play the witcher with it…

I think I might have just made the same mistake. After months of consideration I finally bought VorPX yesterday and have had nothing but problems with it… For a $50 application you would at least expect some support. This should really be freeware at this point…

It’s NOT woking ! I’m trying now for hours and hours to change the FOV setting and it still not working at all, game is ultra zoomed.

” Set the game FOV directly in the game if it provides to dial in an FOV of 120°. ”

=> Impossible on fallout 4, metro 2033 redux, metro last light redux

Set the game FOV directly with the vorpX Game Settings Optimizer (vorpX config app) for games that support it.

    => the same ! ” optimize setting ” for FOV = 120, then ” setting applied ” then ” apply ” then…. NO CHANGE in game !

All my games are original, on steam, and not modified. I paid 35 euros for something that is not working, you have no video of tutorial on your website… great !!

Has this question been addressed? I’m having the same issue. The Optimization settings in in VorPX for FAllout 4 are set to resolution fo 1280×1024 and FOV of 110 and the boxes are checked, however when I launch fallout I still get the Vorpx warning that my resoltion is set to the monitor default of 1680×1050…

Any tips? I tried using a third party config tool but when that was running fallout wouldn’t launch on the headset…

If you have a mouse wheel you can try to adjust the zoom for 1st/3rd person with it. The default is set so you can.

Thanks! I managed to figure that out, but was worried that I was somehow getting a ‘zoomed in first person view’ as my melee weapon was barely visible on the side of the screen when zoomed all the way in.

Next question, what is the best way to force a 1280×1024 resolution, and force the recommended FOV? I looked at the ‘optimization settings’ and the resolution and FOV settings are correct and checked, however when I launch fallout it gives me the Vorpx warning that the resolution is still set to my montior default (1680×1050)…

I tried using a third party graphic configurator to override the fallout in game settings, but when I had that running the game wouldn’t launch on the headset with Vorpx..
