That’s not trivial to do since for vorpX the desktop viewer is largely just an application it hooks into, and settings are stored per application.

Yes of course i agree, but there are still games causing troubles with hooking or do not hook at all (Outriders for example or vulcan based games) and if i am (like at this moment) playing multiple titles like those, it would be a kewl feature being able to just load up my most favorite configurations for each title, even if it´s just about minor changes.

This is of course for more virtual-desktop/theater-screen enthusiasts rather than users being up for full-vr experiences only/mostly.

    Anyway, thx for your response!

Make sure to run games windowed or ‘borderless’

That´s where i had severl problems with a few DX12/Vulcan games, they were constantly causing troubles, switching to windowed or borderless mode didn´t do it, or at least caused troubles to the point where i got tired of trying and just ran them with bigscreen instead, where they as well were causing a few trobules here and there, but generally did its job.

One game tho, where i had success running it in vorpX windowed mode, is OUTRIDERS, which runs extremely well on vorpX desktop.

Now i was looking for a way to make different game-profile-save-slots for each game i am playing in vorpX-Desktop-Mode, similiar to how i can save each game-profile when hooking into each game, but didn´t found that option yet.

BigScreen is just a desktop capture app.

No clue what “bigscreen” you´re talkin about, but i clearly explained what it is.

BIGSCREEN is in fact nothing else but another virtual desktop, with several nice features, but you can´t run 2D games in 3D as it is possible in vorpX.

The only downside of bigscreen would be, it drawing more memory from your system than vorpX does (plus a few games causing trouble, they´re not causing with vorpX), so especially graphic intense games cause much stuttering on it (also depending on your rig!), while they run flawlessly on vorpX.

On the other side, i got certain games to run with bigscreen where vorpX falls on its ass…fatality, which is kinda funny when i think of vorpX being superior compared to bigscreen and failing so terribly when it comes to DX12 or games based on the vulcan engine, which are a walk in the park for bigscreen.

Edit: In my list of DX12/Vulcan supported games, which i am playing with bigscreen cause they refuse to work with vorpX, i meant ZOMBIE ARMY 4: DEAD WAR, not “Zombie Army 3”.

If you don´t care for a full VR experience, play the game with the BIGSCREEN app, that one may have its flaws but does a great job running games who are making troubles with vorpX, i am currently using it to play AVENGERS, ZOMBIE ARMY 3 and WOLFENSTEIN II, so DX12 and Vulcan games also run perfectly well there.

Is this because of Denuvo blocking also VorpX

No clue if DENUVO is really causing a conflict with vorpX (does it?) the same as i am not sure what actually is causing DENUVO to cause stuttering on certain games to begin with, but in case DENUVO is drawing too much power and this causing the stuttering, well…in that case you could expect it to run even worse in vr i guess.

The game is troubled with many stuttering-related problems (thanks to DENUVO) so i am not sure if it ain´t better to wait for them either to fix it or to scalp off that denuvo crap. Playing games over the vr device, no matter if vorpX, bigscreen or any other program, already draws more power so playing an already stuttering-troubled game could cause even more trouble.

Thanks for your advice Lawrence1962, I’ll try it. 3D isn’t important for me, the most important is Full VR because I feel inside the game.

With those shitty ps3 graphics? Well to each his own.

Thanks, it’s a shame, I do like the 3rd person immersive or cinema mode in many games more than full VR.

If you don´t care for 3D-Effects, try it with BIGSCREEN.

That program may have its flaws while stuttering (may occur with certain games), drawing more power from CPU and several crashes with certain games can happen, but on the other hand i got dx12 and vulcan games runnin there without problems at all or without too significant problems.

On a sidenote, i am also one of those guys who has more fun with playing in cinema-immersive mode rather than all full-vr.

    R u guys talkin full-vr mode???

Playing games on an emulator using vorpX´s virtual desktop (playing them on a theater-wide screen that way), shouldn´t be a problem but i figure out you guys know that already.

Edit: Ah, guess you´re talkin more of 3D than full-vr, well in that case i am also in for this.

Personally, after indepth research, i think that Doom Eternal is worse than Doom 2016, and not worth it. But YMMV, as always. []-)

WTF?! You rate a game based on an indepth research? Seriously?

I miss the good ole times where users actually rated things based on their own friggin expieriences with it.

Since i play almost all of my games with vorpx or bigscreen (except those games where you mostly see statistics and text, like certain tycoon or management games) i tried a few on my regular monitor again, to see and remember how it feels there, well….LOL…it was almost like an “awful” experience.

While certain games don´t feel as awful on my monitor, a game like JUST CAUSE 3 loses all of its “theaterscreen-glory”, falling back to a more “mediocre” experience, almost “shallow” and “boring”.

So hopefully VR doesn´t die like regular 3D is dying (Most of all 3D-TVs, not sure how it looks with 3D-Blu-Rays, especially since you can watch 3D-Movies in virtual theaters now thx to VR!) would really hate getting used to play games the old-fashioned monitor-way again….yuck.

I never really got hooked into VR gaming (not too many great games in my opinion) and i almost sold my oculus before i found out that playing regular non-vr games using my oculus and those huge theater screens/virtual desktops is so much better that i actually never played any game on my monitor again, in fact i use my oculus on a daily basis now, sometimes several hours with short breaks only.

I even play pixel sidescrollers that way. Gaming on my “small” 31inch screen just isn´t doing it for me anymore.

Actually bought vorpX only because there are several troubles with certain games running on free virtual desktop software while they run far better with vorpX while vorpX doesn´t draw as much power from my rig as for example bigscreen does.

Funny thing is now that i use my oculus on a daily basis, i got in the mood to actually play VR titles again and i also enjoy them, unlike when i had that (bad) start over a year ago.

I actually only use vorpX´s 3D and full-vr mode for games that i already finished in their original non-vr/non-3d mode but not on the first run.

    Big Screen VR?

Am i actually the only one having serious issues with certain games runnin on that godforsaken crap app?

I am currently having problems with WOLFENSTEIN II beyond imagination, while i just thought i finally got rid of all kind of bugs, the fu**ing app again keeps crashing and throwing me back to the VR-Oculus Menu. Weird thing is this already happened a few times but then it went stright for a few days without any troubles, now it seems to be back and only god knows what is causing this.

Big Screen once was a fine app, but problems with certain games are getting even worse with every update and games not working alright are as well increasing, with a few retro-pixel-graphic shooters stuttering, who wouldn´t even stutter on a friggin intel pentium II processor.

I am gettin so damn frustrated with this crappy shit that i think am sadly gonna abandon this CRAP APP for once and for all, while being even more thankful to have vorpX, more than ever.
