RalfKeymasterThe game does not allow gamepad and mouse input (emulated by vorpX for head tracking) at the same time, hence I had to enable vorpX’s built in gamepad to mouse/kb mapper. Otherwise gamepads wouldn’t be usable at all together with head tracking.
I set up the key bindings to mimic the game’s native gamepad mapping, but you can change the button mappings to anything you like in the vorpX menu on the input page.
BTW: You might find using your VR controllers instead more convenient. They are also freely configurable in mouse/kb mode. For VR controllers vorpX displays the current mapping on the ingame controllers, so that’s more convenient to use than having to remember the gamepad mappings.
RalfKeymasterThe timestamps are displayed as server time, not your local time, regardless whether you are logged in or not. Due to the newly introduced static page cache displaying local times instead would require the same client side JavaScript workaround I mentioned above. Possible, but almost certainly not something I will spend time for.
Do you have an example post that shows the video issue? Would like to look into that, but didn’t encounter the issue myself so far.
RalfKeymasterSounds as if you may have enabled a function in the Windows options that requires you to manually give apps/programs access to your documents folder. Please either disable that or allow vorpConfig.exe to access your documents folder. Caveat: you will also have to do that for every game that you want to use the environments with.
RalfKeymasterDirectVR resolution is not available in this game, so you set the resolution in the game options like you would normally for playing on your monitor.
Please don’t use 4:3 resolutions for this game, stick to 16:9 for the reason mentioned in my last reply. You should also see a message about that in the top left corner of the game window. To avoid unnecessary trial and error, please always check any messages vorpX displays in the game window or in the headset.
RalfKeymasterI meant factory reset on purpose since that clears the DirectVR scanner cache. Alternatively try to delete the C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX\Cache folder.
Caveat: The ProgramData folder is hidden by Windows. If you can’t see it, enable ‘Show hidden files’ in the Windows Explorer options.
RalfKeymasterIn FullVR mode you should make sure that games run at least with half the headset refresh rate. Technically vorpX does work with lower framerates, but if you are prone to motion sickness, things may start to feel uncomfortable below that. If at 2560×1440 the framerate is too low, try to reduce some graphics details in the game options.
Alternatively consider switching the ‘Play Style’ option to ‘Immersive Screen’. In this mode you can get away with lower framerates without things starting to feel uncomfortable.
BTW: Don’t use 4:3 aspect ratios for this game. While usually that makes sense for FullVR mode to avoid rendering stuff that never is shown in the headset, in this particular it messes up the FOV since the game doesn’t really support 4:3 and instead shows a letterboxed 16:9 image. You should see a message about that in the top/left corner of the game window.

Normally vorpX keeps the cursor inside the game window. If that doesn’t work in this case, your best bet is probably disabling your second monitor temporarily.

You can ignore the mouse acceleration setting in the vorpX menu for newer games. It’s only relevant for older games that use the default Windows mouse input pipeline. It’s safe to assume that almost all games newer than five years or so use the so called ‘raw input’ pipeline, which is not affected by the Windows mouse acceleration.
RalfKeymasterThe head tracking is calibrated for the default mouse sensitivity in the game options, so the easiest way to get things right is using the default sensivities in both the game and vorpX.
That’s true for all (or at least the vast majority) of official profiles BTW. Stuff like that is always dialed in to work right with the default game settings.
RalfKeymasterPlease just follow the FOV mod instructions shown in the top/left corner of the game window: leave the aspect at default (1:1), set the zoom to 1.0 and dial in 127 as FOV in the mod. These values ensure that the game FOV precisely matches the headset FOV.
For better clarity run the game at a higher resolution, e.g. 2560×1440. If your PC does not support this resolution, check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the vorpX help. It has a step-by-step guide that explains how to add resolutions that your PC does not support per default.
Gamepad buttons can be remapped in the vorpX menu on the input page. The default mapping mimics the the game’s native mapping though, so normally you shouldn’t have to change anything there either, at least for an X-Box gamepad, not 100% sure for a PS4 gamepad. Unfortunately the game does not allow native gamepad and mouse emulation head tracking at the same time, so I had to enable vorpX’s built in gamepad to kb/mouse mapper.
BTW: You might find using your VR controllers more comfortable than using a gamepad. vorpX displays the current mapping on the ingame controller rendering, so that’s more convenient to use.
RalfKeymasterAfter starting the game vorpX should display a message in the top/left corner of the game window with brief instructions regarding field of view. Following these instructions will do the trick.
On a general note: if you haven’t read it already, the “Essential Hints Guide” in the vorpX help is worth a look too. Should answer the most important questions you may have while you are new to vorpX. You can access the help from the config app.
RalfKeymasterThanks for the heads-up. I uploaded a hotfix for the hotfix. ;)
RalfKeymasterYou don’t have to download any profile. It’s actually not even in the cloud currently. The profile comes automatically with today’s vorpX hotfix release.

vorpX 21.2.0.3 has been released. This is a small in-between releases hotfix with the below changes:
- Fixed: Low framerate with the Resident Evil Village release version
- Fixed: Some buttons in the vorpX menu didn’t work via keyboard/gamepad anymore
- New Profile: Resident Evil Village: Full VR, scalable HUD
RalfKeymasterThe update is ready. You should get it when you launch vorpX next time.
Works out of the box for both FullVR and immersive screen mode. For an enhanced FullVR experience make sure to check the instructions in the top/left corner of the game window.
RalfKeymasterThanks for checking that out. If it doesn’t clash with D3D11 hooking, I’ll enable D3D12 for the official profile shortly, incl. DirectVR and scalable HUD.
