Hope you are right, although I somehow have a feeling that if Meta fails, others will also pull out eventually.

The only real drawback of using an AMD card is that you can’t easily add custom resolutions higher than your monitor res like nVidia allows. Always strikes me as fairly odd that AMD doesn’t have a similar function in their dirvers.

Not really an issue with a 4K monitor, but if you happen to have a 1080p monitor that’s a bit annoying. In that case you are limited to a handful of predefined 16:9 custom resolutions (‘Virtual Super Resolution’) that are always available.

Minor correction: motion controllers can be used as either gamepad or fully configurable mouse/keyboard substitute. Including an intuitive ingame visualization that always displays the current mapping directly on the controllers ingame.

And, quite a while overdue, soon there also will be configurable controller gestures.

Try to switch to the ‚3D-Reconstruction‘ option in the mod menu to ‚Z-Normal‘.

Sounds as if the default alternate frame 3d method is not for you. Z3D doesn‘t look as natural at clos distance, but on the other hand doesn‘t come with any of uncomfortable issues introduced by rendering both eyes at different points in time.

Keep in mind that in contrast to the prices on Steam the vorpX price has been stable for more than nine years. If it had been raised during the last nine years like prices increased in general during that period, you’d pay more with a discount than you actually do currently without.

That sounds decisively wrong. Displaying the game on the screen doesn’t make a difference normally. Airlink should work, but if in doubt try wired.

If you have other mods installed, try without.

Also try to reset as much stuff to default as you can. The resolution in the Oculus app as well as the mod settings. Easisest way to do the latter is reinstalling the mod. With your rig you should be able to get decent performance at roughly medium settings in the game’s graphics options and the resolution in the mod menu one or two notches above default.

Last but not least check whether you maybe have any tools running that also hook into games. If in doubt disable *evrything* running in the background.

The mod actually uses CET itself. You may have to temporarily disable the mod though if you want to use the CET menu, for which there rarely should be any reason, if at all.

Can’t replicate this with the latest Defender definitions (1.379.867.0) from today. Neither on Windows 10 nor on 11. Please try a manual Windows update check in the Windows settings app, that should download the latest Defender definition files.

If the issue still occurs afterwards, let me know.

To circumvent the issue it should suffice to exclude the vorpX program folder from Defender. Typically that would be C:\Program Files(x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX.

    No.

And that are only the officially supported games. There are literally hundreds of user profiles for many, many other games. Not much can be done though in cases where games actively prevent other programs from hooking into them.

PUBG uses a anticheat software that prevents other programs to hook into the game.

You can circumvent that by playing in borderless fullscreen mode with the vorpX desktop viewer instead. Obviously a relatively poor substitute for what vorpX can do if hooked into a game, but better than nothing.

Try switching to Z3D in the mod’s menu (‘3D-Reconstruction’). Alternatively/additionally reduce the game’s graphics details.

Keep your fingers crossed that Meta won’t crash the whole VR bubble at some point.

Might not be the most common/widespread opinion, but I think VR as a whole would have been better off without the billions poured into it by Facebook/Meta every year. As things stand, pretty much everything hinges on Meta finding a way to actually make money with VR instead of burning it as if there was no tomorrow. With every billion spent for their unrealistic VR-as-a-social-medium-for-everyone-vision that becomes less and less likely. If Meta shareholders at some point get too annoyed, things may be over fast.

A danger that wouldn’t exist to that extent in a certainly smaller, yet more diverse and sustainable VR market.

Z3D still may make sense depending on your GPU and how sensitive you are to issues introduced by the default alternate frame 3D, meaning each eye only gets updated every other frame.

That not only causes some weird and potentially uncomfortable glitches with fast motion because of the time difference between both eyes, it also (obviously) cuts the effective framerate in half. So while an FPS counter may display 60fps, in truth each eye only runs with 30fps. The mod tricks away some of the issues related to this method via frame interpolation, but not everything can be tricked away.

Z3D may not look as natural at close distance, but on the other hand doesn’t come with any timing related glitches. Also 60fps truly are 60fps with Z3D.

You can temporarily disable the mod by moving [CP2077]\bin\x64\plugins\vpxCP2077.asi to your desktop (and back to re-enable it).
