zahncistenParticipant
Are you aware that VorpX is meant to be used with HMDs not necessarily 3D monitors? I’m not sure there are suggestions for you 🤔 sorry
zahncistenParticipantLol, I agree. I’m currently playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. Great job on the profile Ralf. I am excited about the next version, but all I can think is: I’m so busy with these games right now! Lol, you do what you need to Ralf. Thanks for everything! 😃
zahncistenParticipantIt should be. It makes more sense as a joke 😜
zahncistenParticipantIn VorpX config, in the General settings, bottom right checkbox, it says “G3D Shader Authoring”. It only works with unofficial profiles though, for obvious reasons. The official profiles are tweaked just right (thanks Ralf!), but there are numerous other user profiles to try your hand at for the shader tool. Have fun! (Btw, like the config window says, after enabling the Shader Tool, when in-game, just press CTRL+END and a new window will appear)
zahncistenParticipantYeah, it’s playable. Some of the visual artifacts in G3D I thought were a little distracting, and it looks pretty good in Z-Normal, so I went with that. The G3D works alright, though.
I think the “big” problem is that the profile hasn’t determined all the “z” depth in the environment. In that sense, I don’t think its a true G3D profile. Some elements are G3D, like character models, but the environment itself doesn’t look like it has actual depth like some of the better profiles, though. Nothing against the Sleeping Dogs, Definitive Edition profile–its great, just not perfect. I don’t really know about making a real profile, but I tried improving the profile to see if I could get more geometry and depth out of it, but I failed. It was difficult!
That’s why I ended up switching to Z-Normal. It’s still a great game, and improved by VorpX!
zahncistenParticipantWe hope so! It should, but we won’t truly know until it is out and Steph12 can try it out, lol:

in january we have resident evil 2 2019 release, running on same engine than resident evil 7, i will try to make it run at least in Z3D day one 😀
😁 We can only be happy lol.
zahncistenParticipantLol, there is just too much to look forward to this year. The remake looks excellent, and it’d be mind-blowing/terrifying in any 3D 😃. I’m so glad I found VorpX last year, thanks to the community and especially to @Ralf
zahncistenParticipantAlright, so, it starts in “normal” — I’m guessing that means it doesn’t actually start in VorpX, but launches “normally” on the desktop monitor.
First, under General in the vorpX Config, make sure you have the right HMD selected. As a fallback, you could always try SteamVR if you can’t get your Oculus to work properly with VorpX. Before you may ask, it doesn’t matter that it’s a GoG game.
If that doesn’t work, and you may want to do this first, uninstall Comodo (you can always reinstall it after if this doesn’t work). You’d be surprised how often Antivirus protections are still “running” after being “shutdown”.
Another possibility is that you need to make sure that the HDMI on your HMD is plugged in to your primary graphics card.
Also, if you are running anything like FRAPS, or some overlay software (like Overwolf, Discord’s overlay, etc.), you will want to disable them.
VorpX is not the issue here, there is an environmental factor on your system. Many people have played on Oculus and have played Witcher 3 successfully. Just take a breath, and try some troubleshooting steps.zahncistenParticipantSo, you’ve tried switching between z-normal, z-adaptive, and G3D?
Make sure that anti-aliasing is also set to low as possible (off if possible).
Those are my immediate suggestions without knowing anything else about your situation. If you’re hooked with VorpX, and it is supposed to have G3D, but you aren’t getting it, chances are that it might be a game setting (like anti-aliasing. You’d be surprised how many times this is a culprit).
Try those things out if you haven’t already. I hope you get to play Isolation. It is SO awesome. I played it thru recently–incredible!
Anyway, happy new year!zahncistenParticipantThanks, steph12! You too. The first exciting happening of 2019 will be the next version of VorpX, lol, amiright?
zahncistenParticipantIt’s not a mod. X-Rebirth has a release that is made for VR:

If you use steam, I believe its on sale right now for 50% off.zahncistenParticipantLol, yeah, thanks RJK_, I meant SteamVR. Thanks for helping clarify! 😃👍
zahncistenParticipantIt works with either.
In fact, it works with any headset compatible with steam. 😊zahncistenParticipantHey tammo0007, I used that profile a while back and it does look a little wonky with the FOV. If I were you, I’d wait a moment. In the next update (January, fingers crossed!), the engine that Battlefront 2 uses should receive G3D support and the visual issues you are referring to will probably be settled.
Alternatively, if you are set on playing it now, are you using cinema mode or immersion?zahncistenParticipant@Ralf lol, yeah, that’s true. Recent history is clear on that. Thanks for answering 😃
