    @smokedog: There’s no need to uninstall anything. In the Arma 3 launcher there’s an option to disable battleye. I can’t remember if it’s under options, start-up parameters, or advanced, but it’s just a check box.

    Playing Arma 3 with the new release of opentrack is awesome.

    @smokedog
    : make sure you are using the 0.8 runtime and have the latest nvidia gameworks driver. Also, when you have the Arma 3 launcher open, you need to disable Battleye. It would not run unless I did that.

    @Ralf:

    Although Vorpx hadn’t been sandboxed I think some windows files had and that seems to be the cause. It’s stopped corrupting now.

    Still don’t know why vorpx isn’t setting the FOV on games using the optimiser. It’s saying it has but not reflected in the game. I’m setting FOV manually at the moment.

    @adisplinter

    IPD really made a difference with Metro LL but I didn’t realise the FOV wasn’t being set in other games like Arma 3 and Crysis 3. Can only go so far using the vorpx FOV/image zoom so I have to manually edit the FOV for these games. Arma 3 looks correct since manually editing FOV to 120.

    My IPD of 67 I got via my Oculus rift profile (after doing the calibration.

    Serious Sam 3 looks great on vorpx.

    Glad I could help ;) Although for me, setting the IPD to a lower value than default 64 did the trick, setting it higher increased the zoomed-in effect, so yeah maybe it is a vision thing. However, as Ralf said, setting the FOV to 120 or the highest possible value is essential and you have to make sure it is effectively set at 90 or 120 because, as in your Arma 3 case, it may only appear that it is set to 120, but when checking on 2D display it turns out to be the default low FOV.

    Regardless how u apply instructions from the Essential Game Hints combined with the IPD setting, a vorpx supported game will always look fine in the end, even better than native ones in some cases, as long as you can manually increase the FOV. But for some games, where FOV can’t be changed or increased to much like BF Hardline, the zoomed in problem can only be diminished using Ralf’s Essential Game Hints, but it’s still there. So that’s why successfully setting the correct FOV value is so important.

    I know what you’re saying makes sense. I have to think more logically about the problem. So it occurs to me that if the FOV is changed to 120 for a particular game that should be very apparent when I play the game without oculus. It would give a very wide angle lens look. So I went into Arma 3 without oculus and the FOV was just default. Even though I’d used the vorpx ingame optimisations.

    http://hia3.com/tools/ArmA_3_wide-angle_FOV_calculator_online_by_Hi,A3.htm

    I found this FOV calculator for Arma 3 and edited the file myself and the FOV set manually to 120 is correct. I haven’t checked it out with Oculus on yet but it should be good. So the question is why the FOV isn’t being set by ingame optimisations. I’ve tried setting vorpx to admin mode.

    There is another problem…

    I have to reinstall vorpx numerous times per day. If I close vorpx down to try a game without it, then after exit game and restart vorpx – I am guaranteed vorpx will crash with error code 3. Rebooting windows makes no difference. Once the error code comes it’s permanent until I reinstall vorpx. After reinstall, vorpx works ok again.

    Any idea what could be corrupting it?

    I’m careful to make sure skype and steam are closed before I start vorpx but this crashing occurs whenever I’ve closed down vorpx and then restart it (without rebooting windows).

    It just corrupted again: Error code 5.

    I’ve been spending time with Crysis 3, Arma III and other games and all have this zoomed in view that makes them unplayable. Adjusting FOV to 120 doesn’t help here and IPD also doesn’t make any difference.

    So it seems like the only way I can play these games is with cinema mode which isn’t as immersive and I can’t look all around me.

    I’m really starting to feel like I’m wasting my time with it. Trying to reduce the zoomed in view on every game. I use the game optimisations and in some cases manually edit the game’s FOV but the games still don’t look right.

    Does it make a difference which Nvidia graphics driver? I’m using an older one: 350.12

    The whole thing is starting to really annoy me because it’s so far removed from the visuals I get with native oculus games.

    I still can’t get it to work properly. Works fine when vorpx control is not running. I don’t have much running on this computer. (I can list running services upon request) I’ve also disabled the steam overlay to eliminate that concern.

    # Scenario 1
    1. Start Arma 3 (non-admin)
    2. Works (no hmd support, of course)

    # Scenario 2
    1. Start Vorpx control (non-admin)
    2. Start Arma 3 (non-admin)
    3. Fails

    # Scenario 3
    1. Start Vorpx control (admin)
    2. Start Arma 3 (non-admin)
    3. Fails

    # Scenario 4
    1. Start Vorpx control (admin)
    2. Start Arma 3 (admin)
    3. Fails

    When it fails I get no error message, the Arma logo just disappears.

    Hi,
    may be it’s an important info: I’m starting ARMA3 as Administrator to make it running on Win10.

    Same issue here. When I start Arma 3 with the Vorpx driver running nothing happens. Not even an error message. I’m running vorpx 0.9.

    System:
    Windows 10
    Geforce 970
    I7 970 3.4Ghz
    12GB RAM

    Hi,
    I am running windows 10, latest vorpx and latest oculus runtime.
    When i will start arma3 the dk2 screen is still black and nothing is showing.
    Arma itself is working without any issues and vorpx is started.

    Any ideas?

    There’s a lot of disinterest among bigger game developers. Bohemia Interactive seem to have little interest (told me a few days ago on twitter they have no plans to update Arma 3 for VR). I suspect many developers are hoping VR fails so they don’t have to develop for it. So many developers got hold of the rift and so often they either left it sitting around or just toyed with it rather than making any real commitment. Things should improve when CV1 comes. It’s good that Ralph is demonstrating existing games can be used in VR via vorpx.

    Really sad to hear regarding BattleEye. Arma 3 is my dream VR game, I’m sure you know the feeling. Battleye is pathetic… really sucks that Arma depends on it.

    I’ve sent through an email requesting the installer, waiting keenly! Very excited to try things out, BE or no.
