cant edit last post to add this other note i should’ve mentioned earlier:

the biggest problem is ghosting (which is obviously different from judder/stutter and that’s a problem with a couple games but it’s secondary)

i dont expect help anymore but to try to describe it anyway, Z3D/2D looks how the game should look, G3D on the DX3d-9 games I’ve tried looks like a decent plasma tv with a little acceptable motion blur, G3D on DX11/12 looks like TAA plus a cheap LCD TV…but only when something moves across the view quickly, otherwise it’s perfect high-fps clarity. and yeah obv in-game motion blur is off ofc.

new download from ubisoft, just a few settings changed like disabling antialising, ssao, blur and dof.

    windows 10 64bit geforce 2080ti 64gb ram intel 12700k

the problem is that as soon as i get into the game, the equipped weapon is shuddering back and forth like it’s switching between two offset renders, and some of the level geometry is out of order, like for example some pieces of scaffolding will show through eachother, or there will be blurry triangles on hillsides

i am new to vorpx and i noticed that the far cry 3 g3d profile has some extra setup instructions so maybe i just missed something there?

also it seems to be using a really low resolution even when i turn off vorpx’s setting to automatically change resolution, and replace it in the ini with a doubled res

my wmr and openxr settings are definitely highest quality, no dynamic resolution

    thanks

I was constantly crashing before even landing on the main menu with either “Cyberpunk has flatlined” errors or Vorpx “DX12” errors. When I finally got those errors fixed, the game was blurry AF and jittery.

Here are some things I did to get it to run / run better on Quest w/Nvidia GPU –
    – Make sure you have the latest version of the mod
    – Make sure your game is patched
    – Update your graphics driver, I got CTD’s until I did this
    – Turn off DLSS or you’ll get DX12 errors and CTD before even getting to the menu. If you already installed the mod then uninstall it (temporarily), go to ->windows settings -> add/remove programs -> uninstall the mod. Then load the game (mod free) and turn DLSS off. Reinstall the mod and it should be fine
    – In the Vorpx ingame menu (DEL), turning off “3D Reconstruction” made a hugely significant improvement to image quality and jitters

    Hello,

Since december 2022, I can’t run Vorpx on my main PC properly both in HP Reverb G2 as Oculus Rift S (specs below).

Games like oblivion, fallout 3, fallout vegas skyrim… textures look blurred inside headset (I don’t know how to express it, it’s like a posterized image with much less quality) and all the games have much less performance even at minimum resolutions/quality. (on the monitor textures show properly, I don’t understand that)

When trying to run games in z normal or z adaptative, headset shows only colored lines on the image (on the monitor it shows perfectly again). What could be happenning?. I have made a clean vorpx reinstall without success.

    Thank you in advance

    SPECS:
    VORPX 21.3.3
    Core i7 12700k
    32GB DDR3600
    RTX3090
    Windows 11 22H2 updated
HP REVERB G2 and Oculus RIFT S

Windows has been being updated during this time, also my RTX 3090 (it has been tested with drivers 517.48 to 531.68)

I’m just trying to get it to function. Right now the motion and video makes it unplayable, I know it works, I’ve seen others speak glowingly about it and I’ve seen video. But for me personally, I cannot:
1). Move my head with the right joystick or the view gets all inverted like a flight simulator. Plus I see the body stationary but I can “detach” my head from it looking around.
2). The Zoom in of the view is horrible, worst looking video of any game I have. It’s like 360×360 zoomed in, blocky and blurry.
3). You can not get back to the Cyberpunk menu once the game starts…there is no “esc” button to get back to that screen
4). And as I mentioned, it totally freezes after 15-20 min. I see the hourglass spinning and everything, need to go back to my system and force quit Cyberpunk.

The info given is confusing, they mention fixing the resolution, but neglect telling you where to fix it, in the vorpX menu or the Cyberpunk menu? They say “Don’t mess with the FOV” but in the sticky post they say “you must fix the FOV”…talk about mixed messages. I get it, the stand alone is free, so there is little interest in supporting it. But I believe this forum is for the Purchased version as well…and I’m see even more issues there. What’s frustrating is it obviously can work, but they just give you the tools without any instruction, so you spend days with trial and error.

I don’t understand why there is a standalone version without any form of direction. It would make this whole process of getting it to work so much easier instead of this back and forth with unanswered questions. I’ve been posting questions for a week and getting zero response. The questions that are answered are never updated. I figured you were going down the same path so thought I’d chime in. No way in hell am I buying a product without any support though, that’s just a waste of %40.

It’s turned into an exercise of getting just to work. THAT’S the real game.

Somehow I find a dark room less immersion breaking than a black or changing background.

IMO, best for immersion is ambient background, because the edges of the screen start to blur in your peripheral vision and you almost stop noticing them.

I never jumped onto the 3D-Blu-Ray hypetrain as i am still not riding the 4k train, BUT…

…in case 3D would have been resurrected to experience many movies in 3D via VR-Goggles, i certainly would have at least tried it with chances being high that i would probably start to dive more into 3D movie viewing, but now with this decision, 3D seems to be finally dead for once and for all and there is also no chance of “resurrecting” it with VR-Goggles.

I dont really understand, why PSVR 2 is so much hyped, because there is so much lesser Content than PCVR, no 3D BluRay Support, you can only play games in a 2D Cinema Screen without any Zoom Option.

Well you should hope for PSVR to better get hyped and being sold in high numbers, if you want VR to really “succeed”, no matter what platform we are talking.

This also ain´t solely about PSVR but the fact that such decisions doesn´t really help making VR the kind of “success” it deserves, so in other words, a very successful PSVR will also help VR in general.

I don’t even have a Bluray player, just streaming for years, but do Bluray’s work on newer CPUs at all? I faintly remember an article I’ve read a while ago that said Intel threw out some instructions after there 10th gen Core that are required for 4K Blu rays, and AMD never supported those in the first place I believe.

And this costs 600 Euros for an Headset, which cant used as Standalone Headset, the Controllers work only for 4 Hours.. There is only Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR2, i can play more than 10 Racing Sims on PC right now with better Graphics, thanks to Vorpx and i dont have to pay for Online Gaming ;)

With PCVR and Pico 4 (Just 430 Euros) you can play via Vorpx so many games in really great VR, there are so much more possibilities.

With Virtual Desktop or the Vorpx Desktop Viewer and the right Software, which shows the 3D Blu Rays Movie in SBS, you are able to watch them on your PC Headset easily in SBS Mode.
Or you could rip your own BluRays as SBS Movies and put them on your Standalone PCVR Headset and watch them, without any Console or PC.

PCVR is the future, PSVR2 is just for user, who just own a PS5 and dont like to play with anything else on PC or just want an Plug an Play Experience.

I think it wouldn’t have been difficult to add 3D BluRay support on the PS5…

    But :)

I’m using the regular version of vorpX (with Reverb G2).

Unfortunately, i still haven’t found a “disable motion controllers” option. There are two pages in the in-game menu that relate to controls (sorry for the blurry screenshots, TTL is difficult):

Is that option missing in my setup?
