    Just wondering if vorpX attempts any form of ‘reprojection’ when set to half or third refresh rate? I’ve been really hammering vorpX lately in a few titles (still absolutely loving FO3 in vorpX, just a fantastic experience thank you!) and while my VR legs are now good enough that I can play all the way down to 60hz/fps all day long without motion sickness issues, it does bother me when the fps drops below that, even briefly. It might be nice to implement 90hz/45fps in some cases, but I’ve noticed that if I set my HMD to 90hz and artificially limit the FPS of a title (say, with the Nvidia control panel, or in-game settings if available), so that I’m playing at 90zh/45fps with zero interpolated frames, things looks *exactly* the same as if I setup vorpX with the half frame-rate option. So, at least to my eyes, it doesn’t seem as if vorpX is actually creating any additional interpolated frames. Both solutions remain reasonably responsive, but I’m seeing nothing that looks like any form of so-called asynchronous reprojection. It’s most noticeable upon rotation, when I get obvious ghosting of the entire scene. If I set PiTool to 1/2refresh with motion smoothing on, then I get interpolated frames with all the other associated pros and cons. (Right now basically anything else would be preferred over Pimax Smart Smoothing; They are trying to add a 1/3 rate and it’s unusably bad. Unfortunately if you turn on ‘smart smoothing’ currently you get either full fps, or 1/2, or 1/3 depending on what the Pimax drivers decide, so basically ‘smart smoothing’ is now unusable on Pimax HMDs as it keeps kicking in the 1/3 rate without any way to disable it and just stick to 1/2. The option ‘force 1/2’ is there, but all that does if force 1/2 as the MAX; if the driver wishes it will drop to 1/3, nearly always where there is absolutely zero need to do so.)

    Anyway, regardless of my reasons, I’m wondering if the behavior I’m seeing is what I’m supposed to be seeing when I turn on the 1/2 rate in vorpX?

    Did anyone of your guys managed to run Quantum Break ? The game loads well and starts with the menu but when the actual game starts its all black screen :/
    sounds works, but no picture.

    There is one profile on Cloud (From Control) which I used, but no picture when game starts.

    Any ideas how to fix it?

    Does anyone know why some games start up well with Vorpx Viewer and some instant crash?
    Outriders, Far Cry 5, 6, New Dwan, even Star Trek Battlefields 2 – all run perfectly on start up,
    on the other hand MARVELS Avengers, Control, Quantum Break straight away crash with the Vorpx Viewer running.
    No idea why.. cant really be the 3D engine as Tomb Raider runs great with the Vorpx Viewer but Marvels Avengers crashes, both run same engine..

    Anyone has an idea or tip how to bypass those crashes on start up?

    yeah! for some reason Virtual Desktop is going downhill for me with my Quest 2. Hardly any game starts and frankly it starts to suck big time, hence I am now all in in the Vorpx Desktop viewer – which is great especially with the ambience background, but you can choose any including Cinema and all. The Input you select in the menu itself when you press the DEL button. Change from normal to SBS and thats all she wrote!

    For example in Far Cry New Dawn I had to set the FPS limited as it was really poor but Far Cry 6 and 5 run very well on low to mid settings. Need to test whats best on your machine.

    I launch the game itself and once its launched I launch the Vorpx View with the VR controller on my dashboard, I find this the easiest way vs the Win button or ALT TAB.

    What is strange that some games play straight up (outriders, Far cry even Star Wars Battlefield II), some on the other hand clash and crash straight away like MARVELS Avengers, Control and Quantum Break. No idea why..

    update: Fixed. The Controller override disable option seems to work only after a full computer restart.
    I restarted all and now the X-box controller mapping loads and works.

    did any of you have had any issues with the XBox X Controller Gamepad not loading? I uploaded the only profile from Cloud (by gileric), 3D and all is okay but the gamepad settings dont load. Does not matter what I try, only keyboard layout works, but not Xbox X controller.

    It works and loads okay without Vorpx, but once Vorpx is open , the gamepad controller mapping does not load from steam.. no idea why. All is set to OFF in Vorpx menu as well. All Gamepad overwrite option is to OFF, but something still preventing in Vorpx to load the gamepad overlay from Steam.

    any ideas?

    Like said above motion controllers emulate mouse/keyboard or a gamepad. They should just work. You can see the current mapping on the controllers and configure it in the menu.

    BTW:

    The next update will add gestures. Still not like native games, but that will allow to add certain gestures to actions in the game:

    Can you do a video on how to get the oculus controllers to work for the game? Does that mean when I move the oculus controllers up and down left right that will move the gun up down etc like a normal vr game like onward

    Danke Ralf! Brilliant ! I was about to give up on this game and after restarting it, boom! it got the Controller option back ! love it ! thanks for your help and for Vorpx – what an amazing tool !

    Just saw the help text that its best played with Mouse and Keyboard due to the (unnecessary) Head tracking Option :/ what a shame. The game looks great and is perfectly playable without the head-tracking yet with Xbox Controller. If there is a way to disable the head-tracking yet gain full control of the X-Box controller Ralf, let us know. Maybe second profile possible without the head tracking taking over the Gamepad controls?

    I have a question about the XBox Controller Bindings. Got the game to work and look great with official profile in immersive screen and 3D and all, however I can not play with the X-Box X controller as half of the buttons are not assigned correctly or at all. Mouse buttons are displayed on the HUD, as if the game thinks I am playing with mouse (there seems to be a conflict of sorts) , but I am playing with X-Box controller. How to change the settings please so full X-Box controller gaming is supported without mouse , mouse button displays (works perfectly if VorpX is not running) thanks!

    IIRC the profile has vorpX’s gamepad > mouse/kb emulation enabled for a bunch of reasons. You can configure its snesnitivity and button mapping on the ‘Input’ page of the vorpX menu.

    With TrackIR enabled the gamepad > mouse/kb emulation *might* not be be necessary. Not 100% sure, but try to set ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ to ‘Off’. That will enable native gamepad support. if you still have working head tracking afterwards, you can leave it off.

    BTW: You can also play with motion controllers if you want. vorpX can emulate both mouse/kb and a gamepad with motion controllers. Also fully configuarble in the menu.

    Hi everyone I am playing arma3 and using a Xbox controller which works to control the character in game but when I use Vorpx the sensitivity is way to high so moving the stick a little makes me move way to fast
    If I try and turn down the sensitivity in the game itself that does nothing
    How can I lower the game sensitivity through vorpx

    i got it to work by using use alternative hooking method, but when im in vr mode and using a game controller it wont let me move the contoller to look up or anything

    @Ralf are you able to help with settings to get this to work please
