I picked up this game on Steam sale for $3.74 since it has a distinct neon/synth/TRON style and thought would look awesome in VR.
Anyway I tried a new profile based off Unity 5 base profile and linked the exe, but when launching the game it got stock on the dialog box that it was hooking into the game, then when it got the the main menu in the game the FPS camera kept spinning around and it still had the popup it was trying to hook the game (the game never launched in VR mode, it would still stay in Steam’s virtual desktop monitor)
I tried to use the alternative hooking method and even Run vorpX Control as administrator, but it didn’t seem to help.
The DirectVR memory scan is only available in some games (indicated in the top/left corner of the game window if supported).
However, if you are 100% sure that the game handles simultaneous controller and mouse input correctly, you can simply disable the ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ option on the input page of the menu. If you don’t experience any input weirdness afterwards (e.g. head tracking dropouts, gamepad movement stutter or similarly odd things) all is well and the game in question does indeed correctly handle mouse and gamepad at the same time.
BTW: the built-in gamepad to mouse/kb mapper that makes it possible to use your gamepad together with mouse based head tracking even in games that can’t handle both simultaneously is a fairly feature rich program in itself, the mapping can be fully configured to your liking (also on the input page of the menu).
RocksNdiamonds (artsoft.org) – 2D
Not shure if a have reported about this game earlier, its just so cute, Emerald Mine with VorpX ! Of corse 2D only, but huge Fun playing this addicting game on cinema screen.
Its a free game and if you get all the levels together youll have about 50.000 ! I recommend the emarald mine levels, the look best for RnD.
For this game i wrote a Widescreen-Mod (the game normally has a square shaped screen). With the widerscreen-Mod you are able to play the game in 1920×1080 Cinema Mode. Besides that all game controls are located on top of the screen.
I also wrote some music for this game, you may download all that from Here.
Please refer to the README.txt files of the corresponding mod/music pack.
– Vorpx shortcut required !
– Profile available at the cloud

I’ve been trying to play Dragon’s Dogma with VorpX, using my Xbone controller as usual… but VorpX was interfering with the controls, and there was nothing in the game settings that allowed me to play as normal with the Xbone controller (VorpX keeps trying to make it emulate keyboard keys and screws up all the assignments)…
SO I searched for info on how to get it to work… and there was some stuff about “DirectVR Scan” and running that should allegedly make the controller work properly… except I have no idea whatsoever what this “DirectVR Scan” thing is, nor how to run it, and there doesn’t seem to be any available info anywhere on how to run the damned thing.
So… help?!
I mean VorpX doesn’t need to interfere with my Xbone Controller settings for Dragon’s Dogma since that game allows simultaneous controller and mouse input…
That only works for profiles where vorpX has other means of applying head tracking than emulating a mouse, which is not the case for Stalker unfortunately. With moused based tracking vorpX would have to know when you are in a menu or inventory screen.
What helps a lot however is switching to EdgePeek mode while using menus or invetory screens, which is more comfortable anyway. That way you can see the whole screen and don’t have to look around while using the menu. Edgepeek can be enabled by pressing the mousewheel, the left gamepad thumbstick or the right grip button on your VR controller.
Just FYI about ‘Low’ threat, potentially unwanted behavior found by Windows Security (Win 11).
Windows reported the vorpControl.exe file had something called caypnamer.A!ml and it was quarantined.
I uninstalled VorpX as a result.
What’s the deal?
Some titles just work better in vorpX than others, and Greedfall has certainly been one of them for me. It’s a story-rich RPG that will probably appeal to persons who like Dragon Age etc. It has two things going for it that make it work well in vorpX (virtual cinema mode). First, it performs pretty darn well, and second, it’s engine is good enough that it also looks good. I’m managing a solid 60fps/60hz on my Pimax 8K-X at full 4K game resolution with only the need to turn shadows down. Every other quality setting is maxed. Turn the resolution down even a little and full-quality shadows are also fine. The TAA in this title is not the muddy-blurry mess it is in most games for some reason, so using the vorpX sharpening will get very crisp results.
A few quick tips:
1) Download the vorpX Cloud profile by domjacksonuk (thank you!). Make sure you are in Z3D Normal mode and that the depth is set to 1. Now set the near/far balance all the way to FAR: 100%. Now set the Focal Distance nearly as low as it will go; around 3 or so. At least for me this provides far and away the best results – surprisingly good 3D with few artifacts and excellent in cut scenes as well.
2) Set the in-game FOV slider to the maximum. That seems perfect to me, so no need to tweak it with mods or ini files, IMHO.
3) That’s about it, it’s a fairly good title without modding, although I do strongly recommend this particular Mod as it is a game-changer, allowing you to travel with additional party members: https://www.nexusmods.com/greedfall/mods/43 Follow the install instruction found in this post (just install it manually): https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7994778-increase-party-size/?p=110975918
Make sure your controller is on when you start the game or it won’t detect it. It also has some bugged controller issues that have never been fixed, but it’s far from a game-breaker.
If you are running the game windowed, make sure the window is in the foreground by clicking into it. Keys are only handled when a game runs in the foreground.
If that doesn‘t help, try a gamepad (left thumbstick) or motion controllers (left+right grip button). The menu can be navigated entirely with both gamepads and motion controllers.
You can disable DirectVR with a hotkey temporarily in such cases (default ALT+B),
The menu option is on the DirectVR page of the menu, you can flip between pages with the arrow buttons in the top/left corner of the menu or the shoulder buttons on your gamepad/motion controllers.
You don’t really want to disable DirectVR for good though. If available for a game, DirectVR modules improve the experience a lot, e.g. by enabling better head tracking, automatic FOV setup and so on. Use the temporary hotkey switch instead if necessary.
BTW1: Many hotkeys can be used in two ways: either with “hold/release” if you only need the function for a few secs. Or with short keypresses for toggling the according function on/off.
BTW2: A list of useful hotkeys (including a way to change them to your liking) can be found in the config app.
>Hi, I’m testing standalone and runs pretty good, but cannot change dialog options using Oculus Q2 in gamepad mode.
Alright, figured it out, I needed to hold trigger to switch left stick mode!
Overall works nice, although on my i5-12600k + GTX 1080, VR mode: Z-Index, Nice setting I have sometimes brutal FPS dips which I guess may be expected. But roughly 40 FPS on avg makes it playable for me.
Don’t really like gestures so far, but gamepad emulation from Oculus controllers is already a godsend to me.
Overall feels like CP2077 is game just begging for VR so thanks so much for this! Will definitely consider buying Vorpx for other flat games.
I’m also struggling to get usable framerates with the default settings, unless I use Z-Normal 3D mode. Also, for some reason my motion controls wont work like they seem to for everyone else. When I use the gesture to raise handgun, I see the icon active but my weapon remains pointed away. My specs:
CPU – 5900X
GPU – RTX 3080
2TB SSD
64 GB RAM
Quest 2 w/ Link Cable
Update: for those who struggle to get this game running well, its incredibly poorly optimized from the get go and its rather random that it loads without any stutter and hick ups in the game. 1 in 10 loads work, so keep trying. What worked for me also as a tip, is to play with the PS5 controller over the X-box controller which in all cases created the 1 second stutter in the game, the game itself is optimized for PS5 haptics controller which is really cool and seems to work much better then X-box.
You can configure motion controllers (including turning them off) on the motion cotroller page of the vorpX menu.
As far as the underlying issue is concerned:
Quite a few games can’t handle simultaneous mouse and gamepad input. Since vorpX often provides head tracking via mouse emulation, the only way to have a working gamepad together with mouse emulation head tracking in affected games is intercepting gamepad input and converting it to mouse/kb input. That’s a feature not a bug. The gamepad to mouse/kb mapper is a fairly feature rich program in itself and fully configurable.
If you don’t need/want head tracking, you can disable the ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ option and set the headtracking sensitivity to 0. That will bring back the game’s native gamepad handling.
BTW: With ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ set to off you can let vorpX emulate a gamepad with head tracking, which in principle also deals with the issue. That’s generally quite laggy though due to the heavy filtering games usually apply to gamepad input.
I am trying to play Monster Hunter World game and everything works great until motion controls lose tracking or something and suddenly my xbox pad now seems to be rebinded as keyboard so if i press triangle instead of attack i get space.
VorpX then gives me hint to switch off motion controls in vorpx menu but when i do that nothing happens and there is still above issue.
Is there a way for VORPX to leave my Xbox pad alone ? I don’t want VORPX to ever touch my pad again as this is not the first time when it tries to rebind my gamepad to keyboard for some reason.
Yeah, I dont think the Vk3D supports the new 3090 Graphic cards + I dont like to play with VR motion controllers, so not for me.
I have not tried yet but I think the new colossus runs same engine like youngblood, so I might give it a go later and use this vorpx profile and see if it works on Youngblood.
For now I fired up the New ORDER and its okay with Vorpx, older game and the 3D is bit shaky and not perfect but I can live with it.
