If no user profile is working well, there will be released a official profile by Ralf of vorpx. But you will have to wait weeks, if no user profile works.
But you can test some profiles with the vorpx beta on your own, because most of the dx12 games working with one of the list. Try first of all Resident Evil Village, Grounded, Death Stranding, The last of us, Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption.
It is very simple, check the local profiles for all DX12 Games, and if no profile can be forked and give you 3D vorpx is not compatible with that game.
You will get used to it to do things on your own, if you want to use vorpx.
You might still encounter that one shader glitch you reported earlier. Haven’t looked into that yet, but it’s not forgotten.
I can confirm the glitch is still there. Thanks!
BTW in case this might help with identifying the issue, the mod ‘No More Quest Markers On Screen’ by Manual Enhancer from Nexus Mods goes some way to helping to hide the markers during play although they flash in/out when in close range of loot (eg a dead NPC with loot etc).
try profiles of grounded, resident evil village, starfield, red dead redemption 2 and if everything fails the “vorpx sbs-base-profile” with reshade 3D
You need a profile that matches ! First try Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
After that, step by step all other profiles for games from FROM Software.
The Engine doesn’t really have a name. It’s a somewhat heavily modified version of the PhyreEngine which is a freeware engine provided by Sony with a lot of custom stuff added onto it. They also used Havok for physics in DeS, DS1 and DS2 however that doesn’t seem be the case for BB, DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Sadly there isn’t really much information about it.
But many people say that’s a myth unfortunately !
But you can even try resident evil village, grounded, starfield, cyberpunk77 and Red Dead Redemption. because it is dx12 game in general !
Not sure how this works but when posting this, there was a message about it being spam and it hasnt posted so trying it here. Will delete if first one posts.
I’m trying to play red dead with index goggles and KB/M.
Game runs fine without Vorpx but when I play with it hooked, it overides my keyboard bindings.
Mainly WASD is the issue, it forces tank control on the horse no matter the perspective I have enabled. No matter the camera control relativity I have enabled in game too.
What’s worse, is it that still persists after I dismount and go on foot. Though at this point its not really tank controls anymore, but instead all 4 WASD keys make me go forward. ASD however seems like its using its respective ASD together with W, as if when I press A its like the game is fighting over A and W. If I press S its fighting between S and W and W always wins, and I always go forward.
In addition I think certain keys Iv rebound seem to also have the new AND old bound action.
What is the extra overlay of button function and how do I remove it?
I disable the vorpx from changing setting both in vorpx game menu as well as the Windows Vorpx Control app and nothing has changed. Iv defaulted the in game buttons, set everything to horse relative movement. What else? this is currently unplayable.
Hey Dave :)
did you get Dead Island 2 working?? i tried using the resident evil village vorpX profile to work with Dead Island 2 ..the fist time it would hook them crash..so I uninstalled and reinstalled VorpX and now its not hooking at all..
thx !
Resident Evil Village profile works great with both, Jedi Survivor and Dead Island 2. I’m going to upload my profiles after completing the first 10 hours of the games.
Sorry to go completely offtopic, but since it is tangentially related and since there is no Private Messaging in the forum I can find…
I just noticed RJK_’s small images links in the forum aren’t working properly! It takes you to a dead page instead of the right one hosted on his website (I’m guessing he changed the URL at some point and didn’t update!)
Thank you, matteo39!
From my understanding, it’s not the profile that’s the problem, but getting around the Dead Space 2008 native profile in vorpX, as it references ‘Dead Space.exe’ which is the same .exe as the remake (i.e., Dead Space ‘2023’). To my knowledge, there is no way in vorpX to by-pass/deactivate/turn off native vorpX profiles / an error message is given when trying to add an already used .exe from a native vorpX profile to a different profile (i.e., cant download, say, Mass Effect Andromeda, or Cyber Punk 2077 etc. profiles from the cloud and assign the same .exe (i.e., ‘Dead Space.exe’). Also tried renaming the remake .exe to something else and assign the cloud profile to that .exe and I’m confident these are the steps I tried and it did not work. That said, I will try again report back!
Thanks again for this ongoing support, folks!
Best,
Ben
I worry about vorpx, Ralf didn’t tell us a plausible reason why we have still vorpx 21.3.2, and i guess Ralf has received a legal warning and Ralf is not allowed to update vorpx.
The same in Helixvision, it hasn’t got an update since June 2021, and they didnt’t want to tell me why ! Paul Dusler was the developer of the 3dfixmanager and this was the back end of Helixvision, and guess that he left the team last year.
And RealVR has a received a legal warning and has to delete all 2K game mods, too. He released the Cyberpunk, Eldenring, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy 7 and Ghost Wire Tokyo Mods in 2022, and that’s it. I think that he wants 130€ per year for this small list of games is ripping off the VR Fans.
I hope that the new Geo3D, Geo11, Depth3D will shake up the scene and we will survive this crisis !
Honestly if it comes to VR-exclusive titles, i´ve almost sold my vr-gear already years ago, leaving vr and not even looking back to it.
Just before selling my gear, i was actually trying to play games on a virtual theater screen and THAT was what got me hooked to VR after all, so basically i am playing all my games on vr-theater screens now. The only problem was, free software such as Bigscreen-Beta caused much troubles (stuttering, crashes etc.) so it was vorpX what saved me again, coz there haven´t been those issues.
So believe it or not, i am actually using my vr-goggles with almost every gaming-session today, on a daily basis of course.
Now if i can´t continue playing regular games with vorpX or even other similiar products, while being forced to play those few and actually great vr-exclusives, then VR is good as dead to me coz i will not keep my gear for those few vr-exclusives being released every couple of years.
Sad and tragic, such a thing would be.
Thank you for additional troubleshooting @Ralf. Still testing, no progress on those specific games. I think you are on to something regarding DX versions, I just don’t know what could be causing it!? I have made the following adjustments, issue persists. Full reboots were done between each step.
1. I did have a 2nd monitor connected but it was off and not detected by computer. I disconnected it physically anyway, no change to issue.
2. I had 3 desktop programs installed (DisplayFusion, Stardock Start10, and Stardock Fences), I uninstalled all 3 programs, though, I have no idea if these programs actually interacted with DirectX or Vorpx in any manner. No change to issue.
3. Launched Task Manager as admin. Though I don’t know every process running, I could not identify any suspicious apps running in background, outside of necessary. (i.e. The Game ‘Dead Space’ has Game’s .exe, EA App, Vorpx. I believe nothing else of note other than Radeon Software, which has all overlays and recording options disabled.) No change to issue.
Next I will try to reinstall the DX runtimes and tweak some profiles in HMD that aren’t working on 3dTv. I will continue to test (I usually only have a couple hours at a time, sporadically through the week). There probably *is* a conflict I’ve not yet discovered… or it’s a driver issue or something?
I likely will end up just taking it as is, if I can’t find a solution in near term. I did buy Vorpx for my Rift-s rig after all! It just would have been nice to have all my games with both options (HMD+3DTV) for nights when I don’t have the extra time to get the HMD out.
I am having an issue getting Vorpx to display 3D signal on my Panasonic 3D TV.
I read some posts on this forum of people using Vorpx to play games on their 3dtv’s. Those posts are now years old, and I’m likely in minority of people still using one. But, I’ve got a 1080p 3d with great image quality so I wanted to see if I could get it up and running with Vorpx.
I selected Generic 3dtv in Devices, and tried both “use windows default” or selecting my tv directly, but when hooking into 3 different games (Left4Dead2, Black Mesa, Portal 2) all I get is a black screen with a diagonal shader across the entire screen. I CAN see the Vorpx version number watermark in lower left of screen and I can hear the game running, but the image isn’t showing up properly on screen.
The few videos available referencing use of Vorpx with a 3DTV already show the game hooked in and running in SBS (side-by-side image) 3D format… I’m not getting even that far.
Also of note, the Del key to show Vorpx menu does not appear with the screen blacked out like that.
Can anyone advise on why I maybe running into this issue?
I see that RDR2 has been taken off support!
Can anyone share:
-What happened?
-When/if it might be back?
-Is there any alternatives to launching in Vorpx?
(I tried ‘Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order’ profile and Vorpx straight up messaged that the game isn’t supported! Can’t even run it in Desktop Viewer!!!).
Please help me understand!
Thank you so much!
Ben
Hello ghosts!!
Is there an official VorpX profile for Guardien of the Galaxy or just a cloud profile??…is that G3D or just Z3D??….
Tested and checked it out a year ago… only ran with Reshade Depht 3D …superperforming and despite Z3D Depht3D conjures up almost geometric 3D even at close range…!!!
The same goes for the anvangers!! Just tested Days Going with Z3D VorpX profile from Paradise Decay…looks pretty good with some typical Z3D depth, but when I started Reshade Depht3D my jaw really dropped!!!… Top 3D
…almost G3D without having to set anything in Reshade on the parameters!!!…which is otherwise not usual that you immediately become friends with the 3D spatial depth…
With Outriders, on the other hand, I had to tinker around a bit in Depht3D…it was also worlds better than the Vorx Z3D profile…especially at close range…body, arm and weapon… Of course you shouldn’t overdo it, otherwise there will be too many artifacts or ghosting around the person…
I guess if Ralf would allow Z3D to further increase the 3D depth at close range, it would also look similar in VorX…
With Deadloop I managed to conjure up excellent 3D close to G3D only with Reshade Depht3D… But that was hard work…had to tweak a few parameters…until the spatial depth finally became playable for me…instead of flat 2D…
Just tested “Evil Dead the Game” yesterday… Looks fantastic in 3D!!! Was afraid to have put the 42 euros for the deluxe version in the 2D sand because of Easy Anticheat…but it worked great with Depht3D!! But I’m still in the tutorial…you have to play through before you can get into multiplayer…
Well… despite the anti-cheat on The Isle and Predator Hunting, it also worked… there, however, with optimal G3D via VorpX… listen and be amazed…!!!
3D greetings to all 3D and VR fanboys and girls *smile*
Using desktop capture for playing games will never be as good as actually hooking into them.
Vulkan is not yet handled by vorpX, but you should get vorpX to hook most DX12 games (in 2D) by creating a copy of any other DX12 profile in the config app and then assigning your game’s main .exe to the profile. In contrast to DX9-11 vorpX doesn’t try to hook any DX12 game you launch (yet), but with a profile most will work – at least in 2D.
DX12 profiles you can use as a base are e.g. Horizon Zero Dawn, Read Dead Redemption 2 or Grounded.
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: make sure to assign the actual game .exe, not any launcher the game may use. E.g. some games may have a launcher named GameXYZ.exe, but the actual .exe may be in a subfolder, e.g. bin\gamexyz-win64-shipping.exe or something similar. In such a case you’d have to assign the latter to the profile. The easiest way to find the actual game .exe is checking the Details tab in Task-Manager while a game is running.
