Topic: black mesa VR water issues
Hi. A few weeks ago I got my valve index. The same day I found vorpx and tried it immediatly with Black Mesa.
The game works fine in any way and I love it. Except for the water. It looks weird and crappy. When I close 1 eye the water looks different then when I close the other eye.
So basically my left and right eye have a different view on the water and the overlapping with both eyes open just doesnt work.
Until now I usually close 1 eye in most water sectioned but it seems to take effort to keep 1 eye closed while playing.
Any knows settings on either vorpx or black mesa that can fix this or will I have to endure?

Vorpx was working for me, but after I reinstalled it I now get this error for any game I try to run with it. I’m using the Valve Index and I did switch the Device Selection to SteamVR, yet I still get that error message, even though I’ve never used or owned an Occulus.
Can anyone help with this?
Hi
After reinstalling windows to get the latest Vorpx working as i had issues…I now have issues when running the 21.3.2 version to play bioshock and other titles. Some games work fine like MK11/Amnesia and Dead Souls 3…..But the games i wanted to play(Bioshock 1 and 2) i get a starnge startup error.
I have a Valve Index with Steam VR running and selected in Vorpx. I inject the profile and i get this error…..
OpenXR instance creation failed
This is a severe error.Make sure that OpenXR is working correctly on your PC or switch to a different VR API in the Vorpx config appThe game seems to appear on desktop and i can see that vorpx has been injected but then that error appears shortly after game boots…and Steam VR doesnt boot the game at all.
Ive tried different settings in config…but as i say some games boot, most dont.
All drivers up to date and Steam VR games running fine.
Anyone help? Kinda frustrated at this as ive been at it for about 5 hours trying to fix this. Again its strange that some games boot fine but the ones i downgraded for dont.
Topic: Low resolution in Witcher 3
I followed this manual to enable vVorpX for Witcher 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svAFX7KMw4w&list=WL&index=153.
I managed go into VR with my Reverb G2 (OpenXR) in the game. However the in game VR resolution is very low, no matter what resolution I set for pancake (2d) mode in game.
In vorpX menu in VR, “Direct VR Settings” “Preffered Resolution Quality” I can only set “OK-ish”, “Nice”, “Nicer” – no matter which one I set the resolution in VR is still the same. I can’t enable “Great” or higher, because I receive the message: “Seems unsupported for this game on your PC. Check the “add Custom Resultions” section in the help”.
I’m using Ultrawide 3840×1600 dispaly with RTX3070 and in my nVidia control panel I have several resoultions available: 3840×1600, 2880×1440, 2560×1600 and many more. I have the “enable resolutions not supported by the display” checked in nVidia Control Panel. My dispaaly is in 3840×1600 resolution. Not matter what resolution I set in game, full screen or windowed mode, the resolution in VR is still very low, so low I can’t read the fonts in the game HUD.
I would appreciate any advice – why vorpX is telling me: “Seems unsupported for this game on your PC” any why the chnages between “OK-ish”, “Nice”, “Nicer” have no effect on the resolution in VR.I just installed this, set my Valve Index to Steam VR in settings and when i launch games i get an “Oculus runtime init failed, vorpx will not work correctly Swicthing vorpx to Steam VR mode”
I dont even have an Oculus anymore….How do i stop this error? I have reinstalled Steam VR as well and still get this error
With a fresh install of CyberPunk and the VR mod, the game does not seem to accept input from the Index controllers once I pass the gesture controls tutorial. The gestures tutorial works fine.
I can hold L grip, then R grab to open the VorpX menu and move the cursor fine within that menu, but once I close the VorpX menu, CyberPunk itself does not recognize any input from my Index controllers. I’ve made sure to hop out of the headset and clear the message that is overlayed on the flat screen just in case that was blocking input, but to no avail.
Plugging in an Xbox controller, the game correctly switches over to “controller mode,” and input works fine for the Xbox controller. I’ve also tried swapping between SteamVR and OpenXR in the Configure CyberPunk VR app without any luck. Keyboard/mouse input works fine. However, my main draw to the VorpX version of the Cyberpunk VR mod are the motion controls/gestures, so I’d love to sort out the issue.
Thanks.
