Thanks to user dellrifter22 for creating and sharing the profile!

Unfortunately, Ubisoft is using some very aggressive anti-cheating software that prevents Vorpx from hooking into the game. There are ways to get around that via hacking, but as Ralf does not want us to discuss that here, I will not do so. Just saying it is possible. Z3D depth is quite good (though hands are disproportionate to the background). Frame rate tanked at first, but I lowered a few settings and now it is zipping along at 1080p quite nicely.

EasyAntiCheat is blocking vorpX from hooking into FC5. Fortunately there is now a bypass method (thanks to the clever people writing trainers for the game) similar to the one used for Ghost Recon Wildlands that lets us play 🙂

Understand that this is an unofficial “hack” that could potentially incite a ban if used online. Please use offline only and proceed at your own risk.

    To bypass the EAC:
    – Google search: “fearless revolution far cry 5 dunia engine 2” and find page 1.
    – Download the zip under “Instructions” of the [28.03.2018 – First Release].
(The Updated method didn’t work for me, only the first)
    – Follow the installation instructions as copied below:

    —————————————————————–
    A) Backing-up/renaming:
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder first rename EACLaunch.exe to EACLaunch.exe.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder rename FC_m64.dll to FC_m64.dll.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat/ folder, rename EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll to EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll.BAK

    B) Place EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat folder.

    C) Place FC_m64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder.
    —————————————————————–

Now, set up a vorpX profile for FarCry5.exe and you are good to go.

I’ve uploaded an Immersive Screen Z3D profile to the cloud for anyone to use.
(tested on Pimax 4k with game settings: 16:10, FOV 94, reticle “centered”)

In game FOV can go as high as 120, but I’ve found that does not apply to vehicles sadly. Still, a neat experience in vr so far. Enjoy!

p.s. @Ralf – I know you’ve tried with BattlEye, but wonder if you might contact EAC sometime to allow vorpX hooking in future games. I know some versions of Reshade have now been whitelisted, perhaps vorpX could as well. Might be worth a try, EAC seems to be here to stay :\

Tried the search you suggested and no links with google? I suppose they’re hiding it? Any other way to find it?

EDIT: Never mind. Just doesn’t work with quotes for some reason. Take off the quotes and you’re good to go.

Only Z3D with the current FC Primal based profile. I did briefly test profiles from FC3 and FC4 but didn’t produce any type of 3D. Could try other profiles, but Ralf said he’s had to do specific work on each FC to get G3D working.

Z3D in current FC5 profile works about as good as can be expected, though it doesn’t work during cutscenes.

The games FOV slider dosen’t seem to adjust the weapon models position nor the vehicle seating, so the more comfortable way to play is in slightly zoomed immersive cinema. This might make the scale seem a tad low, but the FOV will feel more natural.

I’ll go ahead and paste the bypass method again below, in case someone has missed the other thread:

Am posting this again because the original post does not exist anymore.

If you want to use the Avatar (SBS) Profile you must do the settings below to use G3D Mode. This is not a hack, i was using legal inGame settings and vorpX capabilities.

James Camerons Avatar is a great game, all those crazy plants and colours you know from the movie look insane in Geometry 3D.

Sadly some shaders were badly broken when using Far Cry 2/3 Profiles. Other engines didnt work at all. – This morning, i read somewhere here in the forum about Ralf mentioning some Side by Side profiles for media players, this let me experiment with some of those.

I do not know if other games beside Avatar and Far Cry 2 provide internal 3D functions for example for 3D Tv’s, but any game which provides this should work this way(SBS).

In certain for Avatar the following settings must be done, otherwise you will get a too wide image or 3D will not work.

    1- use a Desktop resolution of 8:9 , example: 1920×2160
2- enable “dont stretch” in the Nvidia panel
3- set ingame (for this example to: 2160×2160, dont ask me why this ratio works best)
4- enable 3D under the games Video Settings
5- choose Side by Side mode
    6- keep Force Widescreen OFF
    7- Set antialiasing to 4
    8- dont use DX10

use the profile from the cloud called : Avatar (SBS)

Geometry 3D works excellent this way, no broken shaders, you can keep Bloom and Shadown ON, the only thing is that a Media player profile does not have as many settings as a real G3D profile. With a “real” G3D profile more depch can be set, positional headtracking , camera height ect. is missing here but headtracking in main works. AA brings more smoothness into the game. Turn OFF of you need some more frames.

This profile should be quite an alternative until a real G3D profile with more options can be availaible

I could be wrong, but wasn’t Avatar made in the Dunia engine, same as farcry 2? Unless that’s a different game. You already tried the fc2 profile?

@ dellrifter: The ALT-key setting actually exists internally, it’s just not exposed to the GUI. I’ll add it as an expert setting for the next vorpX version.

@ nieda: Far Cry 2 has Geometry 3D since 18.1.2. Make sure not to disable the automated settings adjustment. All supported Far Cry games have G3D now.

Since Christmas update I’ve been enjoying the performance boost and enhancements to immersive cinema modes. The slight increase to range have been effective for my Pimax.

And it’s been a lot of fun revisiting Farcry 2. Thanks.

If there’s one thing that bothers me about the update, it’s the loss of standard Alt key functionality in games.

I use LAlt abundantly while gaming and have since resorted to simple AutoHotkey scripts as a workaround. But a few games are hard-coded and will not allow me to remap keys, making it difficult to play correctly.

I understand LAlt is now reserved for vorpX functionality with good intention to avoid conflict/confusion, but in cases like mine it’s become more of a hindrance. And since a rollback request would sound unappreciative, I wonder if adding a “toggle Alt lock” option among expert settings would be a useful consideration.

Otherwise, I like the direction things are headed and am always excited to see what improvements are in store. Thank you.

Oh, and one thing I’ve wondered for a while… Is there a simple way that you know of to backup custom resolutions in Windows? The larger Creators Updates tend to wipe them clean unexpectedly :/

If you import user settings for a game that has an official profile (like Far Cry 2) there is no new entry in the list, the user settings are loaded “on top” of the base profile. If you see a message that the import succeeded, all is well.

The beauty of this is that user settings in the cloud stay valid even with later versions of base profiles. If for example I update the base/system profile of a game with new shader fixes or similar things, you can still apply older user settings afterwards without overwriting such an updated base profile.

Hello there, i couldnt find anything about this in the forum.

When loading a cloud profile, example: Far Cry 1 [Author_name], vorpX confirmes that it has been imported, but WHERE to ? I cant find that profile anywhere, or does it overwrite the Factory Far Cry 2 profile ?

I hope this topic can help some people so no body accuse me of being a necromancer. I just got Vorpx today :) and am a satisfied customer. I agree with naida133 and Ralf. A simple rendered image without post processing eg AA,DOF etc.. is a good starting place and 1080 horizontal lines are way too few to get a decent image 1440 looks amazing. I have a 4k telly that accepts a 1440p signal natively. The only thing not said so far is there is a setting called crystal image which has off, normal or extreme. A real difference can be seen between the modes. What this setting is doing is changing the ‘supersampling’ or ‘pixel per display’. Normal multiplies the current value by 1.5 and Extreme by 2 ( from 1.4 set in the debug tool i ended up with 2.8!! which is ott). A very strange bit of coding and even stranger name. At first glance I thought this setting must be some sort of horrible post processing and turned it off. It is in fact a very lovely setting that allows me to set a goldilocks ‘pixel per display’ multiple of 2 without opening the Oculus debug tool. thanks for a great software Vorpx keep up the good work. With all of the above dark souls 3 is soooo good and much better than without stereoscopic 3D.

Hello, i am playing Star Siege using a CryEngine 2 Profile (Far Cry 2). Nice D3G with positional Headtracking, Nice Rendering.

When starting the game the VorpX Cursor appears and sticks to the middle of the Screen. ALT+C can remove it, but the games cursor is not there. Its a point and click game so a cursor is needed. On the monitor the cursor is there (big yellow graphics arrow) , only not in VR.

In Windowed mode a cursor is visible (the white vorpX one) and it works, but unfortunately the resolution can not set be higher then about 1900×1000 , the game doesnt accept higher res. in windowed mode.

any idea what i can do to get the cursor back in full screen mode ?

    Far Cry 2!!

I’ve been wanting to ask about this for a long time. It was one of the first games I wanted to try when I first bought vorpx – one of my favorites.

I’ve seen the profile in the list for years, but never got any type of stereo 3D working. Excited to try this now!

Has Z3D ever worked in fc2? Or is it also possible now along with G3D? Any luck to increase fov?

Oh and thanks for the added immersive screen controls. I prefer that to cinema mode now because of the handy edge peek.

You may tray a Skyrim profile for G3D or any profile which supports “The Devision”, You also could try a profile which works with Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Far Cry 3, Just Dance Nowany or any other 3D ubisoft game past 2014 (not guaranteed). The all use the same engine as far i was able to discover.
