Topic: DK2 with arma3
I apologize first off if this post is in the wrong forum but I am new to the forum stuff.
First off I would like to say this program is fantastic. PC for dummies somewhat confuses me but so far this program has been fairly user friendly.
Set my dk2 up for arma3 but have a few issues I am contending with.
1. get in the game and its on my oculus but my mouse seems to be controlled by the head tracking even outside the game.
2. I use the edgelook which I have become a big fan of but the cursor I am getting is only for the vorpx stuff and it won’t let me click on play.
I know the problem is the piece of meat sitting in front of the computer but if there is anyone that can give me an idea as to what to do I would greatly appreciate the helping hand.
Hello,
I bought VorpX today but i cant seem to get it running. I can open the config tool perfectly but the vorpControl.exe doesn’t start. It looks like its going to work but after a couple of seconds it does nothing. It doesn’t show any error message and doesn’t even appear on the system tray or task manager.

Date 10/20/10I see a lot of folks here getting good 3D results even on unsupported titles by renaming the unsupported game title executable to a supported title like DXHRDC.exe, Arma3.exe, or UDK.exe. Dying Light is one such game (I know it has native support, but I would prefer to play it with vorpX for easier menu navigation)
I have Dying Light on Steam. When I rename the DyingLightGame.exe to DXHRDC.exe and then launch it from a Windows Explorer window, it automatically loads Steam and then Steam says it can’t find the executable.
Is there some setting or work-around for using this renaming hack with Steam titles?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Hi there,
I am considering purchasing the driver for my oculus rift DK2 however i need to know wether it is possible to get Garry’s mod working even though it’s not officially supported. My question, is there a definitive method to get Garry’s Mod working for DK2 using the Vorpx Driver? I am willing to do a bit of tinkering if need be.
Apologies if this question has been asked before however i struggled to find a solution using the forums search function.
Many thanks,
AlexTopic: Ummm wow
So in an act of desperation I bought this against my better judgement (which was scream NO DON’T Do IT)… This is not a beta product and you shouldn’t be charging for it. I will tell you why. And yes I am a bit hostile because if I pay for software I don’t expect these types of serious issues to happen.
A: Skyrim (which I bought it for in the first place) is very narrow and I can’t figure out how to get it in full view. Everything is setup properly but no go.
B: your controller overtakes the standard controls for skyrim AND WINDOWS!!!!!???? Were you a hacker who decided to go legit with this? I click on a file directory and it opens the entire directory all the sub folders like the days of win95.
I try to open my browser it will only open in safe mode. Your program should never interfere with windows base operations. When I shut it all down it still does keeps messing with my keyboard and mouse. I totally would understand if you weren’t charging for it. BUT you are. So you get dissatisfied customers…
C: The games I own on the games supported list that are suppose to work don’t even launch. Like fallout 3 (Vanilla) Metro last light and Shadows of Mordor (though I am not sure about that last one, I just wanted to see if it would run).
This seems a bit like a con but Skyrim at least fires up… However it is totally unplayable due to your controller hijack. But it does actually run. Which is more than I can say for the 20 different ways I attempted to get it to run with a perception setup…
And before there is a a ton of “BUT you can setup your keys” how bout if you actually label them in your menu clearly, instead of boxes with the keys and the controller buttons and NO WORDS!!! Do you expect me to use the force?.. I am a Jedi but reading someones mind months after the fact is the work of the Sith, probably Darth Plagus the wise could attempt it. Plus with the screen all scrunched up I can barely read your menus without eye bleed.
Things that would make this a viable purchase are it running the games on the supported game list (seeing as how that is a promise) and that they run in full view with no controller hijack. And it not acting like a virus….
Other than that it is pretty cool
Topic: PS2/ Pcsx2 Support
(I Know nothing on the tech side regarding this)
So as the PS2 offered me many RPG’s which I just can’t forget like Dragon Quest VIII and rogue galaxy I was suprised to find that the Oculus may only work with the dolphin emulator at the moment. I also read something about 3d rendering finally availiable on the Pcsx2(If this has anything to do).
In a recent forum I read about someone Using vorpX on the PS2 emulator and he made it work. I believe I and many others would be spared a lot of dissapointment if we’ll ever get the opportunity to play this PS2 games with the oculus, even if Un-optimized and staggering.
A demonstraition of it at work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW_eKNv_MTQ
I’m also scared the consumer version would go all out and support nada either than it’s licensed PC games if someone can tell me about that. Thank you.Check that you have this program (.exe) on folder where you installed VorpX Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpControl.exe (default path)
vorpControl.exe file is blacklisted on many virus removal programs and gets removed imidietly in installation as fault positive! (some firewalls or virus scanners wont even inform about virus removal)
vorpControl.exe is reported as very dangerous program because it “hooks” to other programs and that is very alarming and dangerous behavior.
Like mentioned in mail that I received from VorpX
“Sorry for the inconvenience. This is as annoying for us as it is for you.
It’s a false positive. Unfortunately your AV programs apparently is one of those that fail to inform their users when it is just taking a guess. vorpX “injects” other programs which some av programs may classify as malicious behaviour per se, without really being sure about it.”So If you get your vorpControl.exe removed by virus removal program please inform in this thread what virus removal program are you using.
Topic: Get an SSD, now!
Ok, so I’ve been fighting to get games at playable speeds for quite some time with Vorpx. Games played worse than expected in my computer: i5 750, 8gb ram, 7970, windows 7, some of them at unplayable levels, so I went for an upgrade and got a i5 4690k, gtx 970, 8gb ram 2400hz, 120gb SSD, and windows 8.
So the games I tried worked great, but since my 120gb SSD run out of space fast, I installed Dishonored in my old HDD that I use as secondary, and I was surprised that I was getting low fps even with that computer. However once I installed it on the SSD, it worked like butter, so the cheapest part of the upgrade meant a lot more than I expected.
So to sum it up, if you want to use Vorpx, you should upgrade to a SSD now if you haven’t already!
