I am very happy to be able to use oculus rift dk2 through vorpx. Because of him I met vr. The only thing I didnt get was to be able to move my head in games and not even in big screen mode. Does anyone have any tips on?
im in the process of installing vorpx and running it. after install and registering the product im struggling to launch vorpx, when i have windows anti-virus and anti-ransomware running vorpx wont launch and i get the message “the item ‘vorpcontrol.exe’ that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly do you want to delete this shortcut?” because of this vorpx then needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled
but if i try to install and run vorpx without anti-ransomware and anti-virus (which im not really comfortable leaving those things off all of the time) vorpx launches but then my headset (valve index) wont turn on so im unable to even ensure its working. are AV needed to be off to run vorpx or only during install?obviously during all of this im not moving or changing files or folders that would cause a shortcut to break

Hi folks,
Long time lurker here even longer user.
Ralf, you’re a genius and indeed the cause of me purchasing games I wouldn’t have even humored .. so thanks for that haha =)Anywho, ..
I have tried a plethora of profiles with the steam game Indutria and simply can not get any “3d depth” or “FOV” to work at all. There are a few profiles that give the geometry options but the FOV slider doesn’t change the image.I have read on reddit and YT that either Half-Life 2 or the Bioshock Infinite works but I couldn’t get HL2 to hook at all and Bioshock profile doesn’t exist anymore so no joy there.
I have also tried Control, Medieval Dynasty (or something like that), Get Even, A Hat in Time, Ace Combat, … well lets just say I have tried a few lol.Has anyone played this game at all and can help a poor guy out, no hair left to pull out.
Or anyone have an Unreal 4 profile I can try with ?I wouldn’t normally beg like this but I don’t really want to go through every profile (although I will if I have too lmao).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Topic: Black Mesa issue
Has anyone had luck running Black Mesa with VorpX? I’m using the default profile, have set a 4:3 resolution and have tinkered with pretty much all the settings. Yet still I get stuttering whenever I move my head and look around. Is there any way to prevent this? Using a Quest 2 with Virtual desktop, 3080ti, capable pc etc.
Topic: RE2 Remake Hooking
I’m having a heck of a time getting VorpX to hook the Steam version of RE2 Remake (with no mods). I’ve poured over the other forum posts and tried a myriad of things including:
– Restore VorpX to factory defaults and import cloud profile
– Reinstall the game
– Windowed and Fullscreen mode
– With and without SteamVR
– With and without VorpX Desktop Viewer
– Low Graphics Settings (without RayTracing, etc)
– Closing all background apps that might interfereI’m on a relatively new and clean Windows 11 machine with only Windows Defender for virus protection. RTX 3070 graphics card. Oculus Rift S. I’ve played Batman Arkham Knight and Dragons Dogma with VorpX so far and everything worked great.
If I run RE2r in windowed mode, there is a popup that VorpX is attaching to RE2 and that never goes away. I can still operate the game on the desktop even though this popup is present. What is strange is that if load up story mode, head tracking seems to be enabled because it causes the camera to pan around the character.
In the Oculus headset, all I see is the game logo with “Loading…” below it.
Running the game in full screen results in the same issue except the “attaching” popup is not present.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m out of ideas at this point.
Installed vorpx, go to launch game it doesnt hook to game unless alternative hooking is ticked. Loads into the loading screen for game stalls then crashes. Also performance even if i do load in is horrendous, anyway to fix this? I expect I’ll have to go to low everything which is fine, but can’t even get to the settings.
Topic: WoW refuses to hook
Is anyone currently able to get VorpX to work as of patch 9.2.7? To clarify, I’m only stating the patch for timewise. Last time I played WoW was back in late 2020 and, although I wasn’t able to get full 3D to work, VorpX would at the very least hook. I resubscribed yesterday and cannot get VorpX to hook under any conditions. I’ve googled a bit and have tried a bunch of solutions that worked for others including:
Using dx11 and dx11 (Legacy) instead of dx12, running windowed mode with each of the three dx levels, trying each of the options VorpX provides (Installing hook helper, alt hooker, administrator mode), restoring the WoW profile to factory settings, trying multiple cloud profiles, and making a VorpX shortcut to the Wow.exe. I have tested with other games and VorpX hooks like normal. I’ve read some of the common issues such as any overlays running or running on a notebook. Although I am using a notebook with a discrete GPU, VorpX was able to hook just fine last time I played in 2020 with the programs I always run. I even went into WoW and told it to only use the dedicated GPU.
Anyone have other ideas on something I might be missing? Even a confirmation that someone else can run retail WoW currently would help show it’s likely something on my end.
