In reply to: Need some help with setting up Fallout 76
Spawn3232ParticipantThanks Ralf, got a bit more working.
Importing the older user made cloud profile made the FOV more like normal.EdgePeek wont work when you use the menu version of the pip-boy (there are 2 pip boy modes), half the menu will be outside of the screen.
Switching to normal pip boy helps, but you newest profile makes the pip boy way to small to read, in the older cloud version the pip boy is much larger, is there a manual way of changing this ?At the bottom of the game screen you have 3 bars, left middle and right, those are very important and you need to be able to see them all the time, i can zoom out if i edit the profile, but then i get black bars all around the picture, using Edgepeek for this will make any player die very fast, at least if you are playing a bloodied character..
And for last:
What i meant in my other post is that i Use a Xbox Elite controller, with Microsofts own usb dongle, this works very good in fallout 76, if the controller is turned on when i start fallout it will find the controller and exchange all places you normal see what keyboard button to press with the xbox controllers real button names, VorpX seems to block this, and that is a bit bad since it will need a lot of re mapping in Vorpx to get it to work like it usually does.I don’t think there even is a mapping for some of the buttons / uses of the original xbox controller in VorpX ?
Btw, DirectVR scanning fails every time…

dellrifter22ParticipantI was actually about to try Destiny 2 a few weeks ago, even had it full installed. But then Red Dead preload came around needing all of my hard drive before I got the chance to test haha.
I have my doubts, since reading about ban reports from people using reshade injectors.
I guess it uses an unfamiliar Umbra engine, so I’m not really sure where to start. Some say Black Desert is also on Umbra, that has a cloud profile, who knows.
But I would probably let vorpX try to hook it automatically (without assignment) first, to see if hooking 2D is even possible. Getting it to hook at all would be the first step, before finding a profile engine for 3D. It’s quite possible that some anticheat will stop you from ever getting that far though.
Would be pretty neat if it could work though. Sorry that’s not much help for now.

RalfKeymasterI would consider even medium settings a tough choice for this game in VR, doing my tests with a 1080Ti here. Go with a performance preset, start with the lowest (but texture detail set to high) and don’t overdo it with the resolution. Game still looks gorgeous and you will be much happier performance wise. I get solid 60fps+ at 2560×1440 (no FOV mod) in the Horseshoe camp, 70fps+ in the surrounding wilderness that way on my 1080Ti dev machine.
Unless you have a real beast of a machine with a 2080Ti and some seriously overclocked CPU, that’s clearly what makes most sense for playing in VR. And even if you happen to have such a beast, you can’t expect wonders. The game is just highly demanding, with or without vorpX.
BTW: Incidentally I did an overhaul of the game/headset syncing last week, with that there will generally be less DX12 judder. I was bit too optimistic in regard to how that is done in DX12 before.

dellrifter22ParticipantBecause RDR2 (and most games for that matter) can’t handle that shape. They are made for widescreen, not tall screen. You wont be able to use your exact native resolution/ratio of hmd, just get as close as you can to prevent wasted performance.
In the case of RDR2, it seems 10:9 (10 wide and 9 high) is about as close as we can get. I tried 1:1 (1600×1600) and RDR2 did not accept that. But it accepts 1600×1440 (10:9) or multiples of that.
But in most cases you’ll need to settle for 4:3, like 1600×1200, 3200×2400, etc.
Don’t worry so much about matching your hmd’s pixel count, just try to get a res as high as your computer can handle. vorpX will smartly translate and supersample it to your hmd.

TraxxxerParticipantHey forums, I am super curious as to why ffxiv has no G3d support? I have tried the global profile that basically makes a massive screen in front of you and seems to have some stereo but it’s not what it could be. I am wondering why this hasn’t been a profile created yet. Is this an engine thing. I know FFXIV was made in the Square Enix Crystal engine but is there some sort of thing preventing this engine from working? Considering this is one of the most beloved MMO’s out there. What is going on and how can I get involved to help a movement to make this profile! Thanks to anyone that has some answers.

nieda113ParticipantHi today i gave it another try. I had several user installed in win10. Normally i log in as user1. Today i logged in as a different user/ I checked for priviledges and changed all to give permisson to my user1 profile from a different login user. Further I noticed an old vorpx installation from 2015. I removed that vorpx files. The next step was to login as user1 again. I started oculus and vorpx. Hit the rockstar launcher and guess what GTA5 runs in vorpx as it used to. Reallz i dont know what happened, i only can guess the latest update from win10 did srew with my files. Ahh forget i removed all admin setting from gta files and vorpx files. I noticed with the latest vorpx update the feature alternate hooking method was enabled i unchecked this too. All this made mz game work again, but what caused that is still a mistery, and i am for sure dont what to change anything again to find the root of the problems. So game is up and seems running better even farcrz 5 is like perfect.Just fyi.
@jesus,, i have that real vr for gta 5. its working fine. But i like voprx.Nov 21, 2019 at 10:21am #190355In reply to: should I sell Vive Pro for HP Reverb for Vorpx?
zig11727ParticipantSeeing HP Reverbs on ebay pretty dam cheap it might be worth the test. I was thinking of getting the 2.0 base stations for the pro but those would be even more than the Reverb almost. or maybe 2020-2021 brings in 4k VR? Also the 3080 series cards might take us over the top ?
Make sure your if you purchase from Ebay the Reverb is revision 2 the first one have problems also the reverb is true 4K VR (4320×2160) and if you purchase used I don’t think the warranty transfers to the new owner.
Nov 20, 2019 at 11:19pm #190339Topic: Final Fantasy XV and HP Reverb
in forum Game Hints and Settings
NikolaiParticipantHey, all. I’ve been having a blast running high res Z3D titles with my Reverb lately and have been wanting to try out Final Fantasy XV next. I’ve ran into a couple issues so I’d thought I’d check in with the community.
First, can anyone confirm if Z3D still works for this title? I could never get it to pop in once set even when messing with the usual suspects like fullscreen and resolution or just reloading the game. If it’s still functional I’ll keep trying different settings.
Second, and this isn’t a vorpx issue but hoping someone can offer insight… Has anyone with a HP Reverb connected even been able to launch the game? Even without vorpx running? I spent awhile troubleshooting different display settings in the graphic config file but the only way to get the game to launch is by unplugging the usb connection from the Reverb to the pc. Game launches just fine with my Odyssey + and with vorpx hooking too. I’ve tried with both my steam game and the demo on Origin so pretty stumped by this one.
Any info helps! Thanks :)

mr_spongeworthyParticipantOK, thanks again. I’ll try turning off those features (I’m not using head-tracking with anything through vorpX at this point. Played a bit with it in FO3, and it’s nice and works surprisingly well, but realistically I have to make so many quality concessions to get the frame-rate to acceptable levels that I might never bother with it. Plus even though I have no nausea problems whatsoever with seated Racing Sims, full VR definitely gives me issues, even at 90fps. Maybe I’ll get over it eventually, but for now I’m perfectly happy just playing my games in 3D using regular controllers in Lounge mode).
Nov 18, 2019 at 3:23pm #190255
rich0550ParticipantI have the same card. Getting 35fps with probably much less resolution than yours. My headset is Vive Pro. 2400×2160? But should not I be using the native resolution of 2880×1600? or do i put in 1440 x 800? even? since that is per eyes.
I was thinking they will keep turning up the games resolutions higher than whatever is the latest headset and graphics cards can handle. Wondering if the 3080ti will put us ahead of RDRII in VR.
But right now in the vive pro it looks horrible. I see so many youtubes of people acting like they are in West World I dont get it. It looks like an arcade game of some dear hunter game or something in pizza joint in 2001. Put in another quarter?
This is not to take away from VorpX this is amazing. We are indeed lucky Ralph has taken this so far. The game companies just wont get off there A#@$Qs and make it happen. They could just make a look around head tracking, nothing else. Sad really coming from decades of gaming, seen it all can say the gaming companies really are dropping the ball. Suppose they are just waiting for graphics cards to be 20x more powerfull. decades from now.. VorpX at least give us a glimpse into the future.
Nov 18, 2019 at 2:32pm #190249In reply to: Flickering on the screen of Red dead redemption 2.
RayVaaParticipantI tried VorpX for the first time now with RDR2. I’ve managed to get the game running with my Odyssey+, but the performance is not what I expected.. (?) the lamp\my arm in the very beginning of the game is huge (!!) and head movements seems really awkward and nausea introducing. The scene is way to zoomed in. I’ve downloaded the FOV-mod which made the scene somewhat more correct, but also resulted in a massive fish bowl effect and my arm looks even bigger.. Am I doing something wrong, or is this how you guys experience it as well ? The 3d-effect also doesn’t seem quite right… I’m getting sick after 1-2 minutes. Normally my VR-legs are quite strong..
Nov 18, 2019 at 10:45am #190247
dellrifter22ParticipantDon’t know what your PC spec are, but even high end computers will struggle to play RDR2 with high settings. So don’t expect very high frame-rates until Rockstar optimizes better. I’m playing at 35fps on a 2080ti.
The higher resolution you set in game, the better it will look in your headset. But the higher the resolution, the greater the performance cost. So you’ll have to be the judge of which is most important to you: frame-rate or visual clarity. For me that target balance is 35fps at 3200×2880 on Reverb.
I was not able to get 1:1 aspect to show in RDR2, but 10:9 seems to work, with minimal cutoff of some reading texts. You could try 2400×2160 and see how better that looks in your Vive Pro. It may perform similar to your current setting if your lucky, but look less blurry.
In case you missed it, here is a post about settings I use with the mod:
Red Dead Redemption 2 FullVR with FOV modIf you are struggling to keep an acceptable frame-rate though, I would recommend using the default profile in immersive screen mode. That will have less performance impact and look clearer on low resolutions due to the smaller screen surface area.
Nov 16, 2019 at 7:03pm #190212In reply to: Can the Battlefield games be played online?
someskunkfunkParticipantI use m&k, head tracking sensitivity set to 0 so only the mouse moves the in game view, fov as high as it will go in game and immersive screen zoomed in to -1 (wish it would go even further to get the scale of full vr mode but with only mouse for aim movement) then adjust 3d strength and depth weighting until it looks as geometrically correct as possible. It’s pretty close to a full vr view then with independent head to look around at the screen and mouse for gun control then and I can still aim very precisely. Full vr mode with the hud turned off and a gamepad is also fun for the visuals but a serious handicap for me anyway in terms of gameplay, most of them also have offline missions that are fun to try like that though.

TheBaltParticipantIs there anyone here that is mod savvy and knows if we might be seeing a 1st person mod for this one? played the 1st person mod of sekiro with vorpx and it was awesome – id just like to know if anyone knows if a mod like that is in the works or even doable with this game… cause that could be rad.
worked better in sekiro than in dark souls 3. sekiro you could lock onto enemies and the ‘lock on’ in dark souls 3 sent the camera crazy with the mod that i played and so it basically forced you to do a 2 handed build without locking on and just aiming with stick and face with sword and roll and swing away, but it works if anyone wants to look up that mod and is a dark souls fan.. it makes you go 2 handed melee cause the lock on break eliminates your ability to use shields realistically and magic without the targeter going crazy… so just have to play a madman rolling (camera doesnt roll/flip when you ‘roll’ in game, it does a slight animation of your speed increasing in the direction, with a very light camera bob, not particularly nausea inducing for me, but could be for others)
But ya, if anyone knows if this is moddable and a 1st person mod is being discussed thatd be cool to know :) If you were gonna try one or the other in 1st person vr, sekiro pretty much works but as intended, dark souls 3 gets messier when it comes to camera, but, playable
