Thanks for your hard work.
Unfortunately I have a similar to amlost same question. The new version seems to provide rather less framerates then the previos version. I also note a flickering vorpX menu and the game (i am playing Hunted:the demons forge a Beshesda Game, which ran extremely well before / in Geomentry Mode) now flickers (looks like framedrops every few seconds) even though ALT+F shows framerates of 45 or above. The only way to get rid of this but no higher FPS then 45 is to turn OFF Dir.Mode.Asnc.Render.
With the privious version i had framerates up to 80/90, this version doesnt come over 50 to 60. (18.1 neither)
Is it possible to roll back to 17.2 or so ? If not could you make this possible somehow. May be some PCs are different and might work better with an older version. I know i should have made a copy of vorpX befor updating, but that goes all so fast when mistakely going online and i have no idea how to fix this :-(
i would almost beg for a rollback option.
PS: Lowering resolution does not help with the flickering, there must be wrong something else.
Here i have some values which were much higher before:
Dir.Mode.async.Render ON – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync ON 45/58
Dir.Mode.async.Render ON – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync OFF 45/59
Dir.Mode.async.Render OFF – Dir.Mode.Fluid.Sync OFF 45/45

Took a closer look at this update and I’m not just psyched for KCD but also the Thief remake in G3D, Nier, etc.
Any chance we could eventually get a Titanfall 2 profile? Very playable with unofficial Tridef profile but I miss that Vorpx magic …
Regardless, I really hope the VR community will come to realize the huge strides Vorpx has made/is making with these last few updates. There was a time where I couldn’t unreservedly recommend the software to someone–especially if they weren’t into tinkering. Now not only would I recommend it–I think EVERYONE who is into 3D/VR gaming should buy it. Great work, Ralf.
Titanfall 2 was one of the if-time-permits-profiles I had in mind in the original post. Good news: it will be included and works just as well as Titanfall 1. Geometry 3D, auto resolution/FOV, scalable HUD etc.

Uhm, will this make rift 2.0 work with vorpx? The only way I seem to be able to get it work is by going back to the old, classic rift interface (which will be phased out eventually). I downloaded the vorpx desktop viewer that you have in a stickied thread, but that did not work.
I tried opening haloce.exe, but I just got what looked like a generic, undecorated app window with the word loading at the bottom of it. Also the frame rate got extremely bad and everything was very choppy. I only got it to work when I rolled back the rift home, but that option won’t be available forever.
Thanks.
Each time I start ACO the ini file is reset to “FOVScale=1.72984”.
This happens even if I set FOV = 2.5 using the ingame menu and save ?
Hint: I would like the to see “game settings optimizer” back in expert mode.
BTW: With ACO patch V1.21 you can fly unlimited with Senua, so you can roam the entire Egypt, giving a super cool VR experience.
In 2D I run 4K Ultra setting and getting 45 FPS on my 1080Ti.
In 3D using Pimax 4K and Z-normal I only get 18 FPS, is this a normal penalty ?
Sorry for all the questions…
There’s a LOT of delay for the head tracking. And if i disable head tracking, the entire screen gets stuck to my face… even when i’m in the theater room
Hi i did not say enb boost doesnt work with vorpx and i used myself the injector enb version. But as for the latest enb there is no injector vesion because boris has not managed to get the 64 bit version run for skyrim se. For old rim the enb boost is not needed relating to my own experience, after upgrading to the win 10 fall update and deleting enb boost from may old skyrim my old skyrim runs perfekt with tons of mods that used to crash even with boris enb boost.
And yes there is a 64 bit enb boost usable for skyrim se but no need for it just a waste …
Hi!
Is there a comfort movement option somwhere? Which adds kind of gradient from the sides of the view to avoid getting sick in motion?
I am enjoying vorpx very much, but i get sick in 15 minutes without teleport or comfort movement. with TES Oblivion i can write a mod to teleport, which i did, and then it’s just great to pkay it in vr, but with other games no such luck.
Is there an option to use comfort movement?
If there is no such option i hope it will be added :)
And vorpx doesn’t even need to know if i am moving or not, simply dim the sides of the screen when i press any of the movement keys like w,s,a,d (which can be made configurable).
In directvr, zoom option in vorpx menu seems to work like this, even though it looks strange without the gradient. But it wont turn on and off as i run around, it stays the same.
Tried searching but found nothing.
Thanks!
I have lenovo explorer, so most of the games crushin with vorpx after 5-10 min playing. Dont buy it. This is shit software.
Already have it my friend. I bought it for Oculus Rift and I also am getting Lenovo. I would still like an answer to my question though. Anyone know what refresh rate to set for custom resolutions?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Why is it so important? gta 5 gets 45 fps on gtx 1080 with resolution 2880*2160 and it looks pretty amazing for me, but I cant reach the same quality and fps when changing vorpx options autores. far cry 3 just the same( I want try it even more but nvidia custom resolution don’t let it)
But, the more resolution I make the faster vorpx is stuck. Games crashes, (exept alien isolation – it flowing nice) If I change resolution down, games playing stable longer but not much. Sometimes game unfreezes thru 2-3 min. I anticipate vive pro will have the same problem with more streaming requirements.Vorpx driver will stuck all the time.
Not really important. Just want to make sure I’m doing it the right way. I’m pretty burned out on playtesting different settings and would like to hear from Ralf the refresh rate to set to avoid hours wasted doing it the wrong way. I mostly use it for Skyrim and got it the best I can but havent tried to do it the way Ralf stated above. He just left out the Refresh Rate bit. Plus I only got a GTX970 so I really need to eliminate any unnecessary pixels and fps to squeeze out the best performance.

It’s not Skyrim vs. everything else, it’s older games vs. newer games. Skyrim SE for example also is blurrier than the original Skyrim at the same resolution. Most (almost all) newer games use shader based pseudo antialiasing instead of actual multisampling AA. All these pseudo-AA techniques blur the image, most of them quite heavily.
The only thing you can do about that is disabling post process AA effects like FXAA, TAA, SMAA, MLAA etc. if possible. If you can afford it performance wise, then raise the resolution to get rid of ‘jaggies’. The 1680p quality preset in the vorpX menu usually looks fairly well without any AA. For GTA V that’s probably too much though even for a GTX1080Ti.
I’m using Kaspersky IS since sereral years and I’m very satisfied with it.
An IT professional that I know has already tested my security. He couldn’t get past Kaspersky.
Before Kasperky, my PC never remained fast and stable for such a long period of time.
I’ve also never had any problem with it. And I’m using *a lot* of software. Graphic programs, music programs with hundreds of plugins, etc.
And even some Windows mods, that would have been blocked by other antivirus softwares.
I’ve uninstalled it and now the config window opens.
But I don’t want to give up on my Antivirus.
I want to try to get both to work.
Can you tell me which files I need to add to the exclusions?
Not matter which game I try, I get the message that there’s a problem with the OCCULUS driver. It said “Play your favourite games on Occulus and Vive”.
I highly doubt that you actually own a Vive headset.
Even the Desktop Viewer is Occulus only!!
This whole program is a mess. It crashes over and over. It crashes without doing anything. Tray icon there -> reading something -> tray icon gone… without any crash dialogue…
It crashes while browsing for an exe. (when using the “create desktop shortcut” feature)
It crashes and hangs all the time. I didn’t see it working for a single game in a whole (wasted) day.
You call this a beta? Vive support isn’t even in alpha state!
Now I know why there is no demo version. I already knew that one should never ever purchase a software that has no demo. I shouldn’t have any doubts about this. The one and only reason for this is, because no one would buy it otherwise. Never seen a legitimate software without demo in 20 years of computer usage.
40$ stolen… No refunds after registring, eh? And no testing before registring. Such sh*t makes me sick. I hope the money will bring you misfortune.
thanks for take a look into it.
Even so, I think I have not expressed myself well, (excuse me, English is not my mother tongue).
I want to Enable async rendering, not disable it.
my problem is it seems that disabling head tracking in vorpx, it also disables the async rendering (you can say it by the amount of judder you get when you disables vorpx’s head tracking).
to clear up doubts, I explain my voprx settings:
– async rendering on
– head tracking on (only to make sure that async rendering works)
– ht sensitivy to 0 (I want to rely on gtavr mod’s headtracking)
– ht roll disabled
my problem is with ht roll, it seems not to work, because the roll of of vorpx adds up to the one of vtavr mod, and is not affected by this check.
I expect that it makes sense.
Meanwhile I will try to reinstall vorpx in case it was a problem of my installation.
Thank you.
hi all. Im using this VR mod > http://grandtheftvr.com/openvr-support/

Did you manage to fix this? I have the same issue with a press install
fixed it by opening steamvr before loading the game even tho i have non steam version!
