Haven’t checked the demo myself, but it’s my understanding that DX11 has been ditched for the game, so using a DX12 Z3D profile like Cyberpunk 2077 is the right choice for the game, other potenttial candidates would be e.g. the Horizon: Zero Dawn or the the Read Dead Redemption 2 profiles.
I’ll definitely look into the title and if possible will add as much DirectVR stuff as possible. Most importantly automatic FOV and resolution, so that you won’t have to tinker with any settings.
I am using a Quest 2 with VD and now Air Link. I start Steam VR, then HZD, I get in-game, and have no controls. I can go to the desktop, click on HZD, which opens the mirrored window then on the desktop, switch back to VR, controls work, but as soon as the loading bar is finished it crashes.
I saw gamepad emulation mentioned a few times, but I can’t seem to find a good tutorial on how to set it up. Or what i have to do to get my gamepad (PS5) working.
Thanks in advance,
Kind regards
I want to bump this too: as it seems like there is SOME support for DX12 with titles like RDR2 and Horizon Zero Dawn? Or am I wrong about that?
I’m able to hook Warzone with either of these profiles, but haven’t achieved full 3D yet. Geometry doesn’t seem to pull off real 3D, and Z is just broken. Running Full VR works with some head tracking, but it’s impossible to see the HUD after zooming the FOV in enough to be immersive.
I’m just getting started with Vorpx, so my terminology may be all wrong here. Hoping someone can build a profile soon!
please i want to play with vorpx in death stranding, v.1.06 won’t hook, i wait
If you are really impatient then you can try a copy of the horizon zero dawn profile and a renamed copy of the death stranding ds.exe
I’VE TRIED But won’t hook

@marcob
What have you tried so far?
Not even sure where to start. I tried an “Horizon Zero Dawn profile” , but vorpx is not hooking into the game.
Any suggestion please?
I am not that great in using vorpx
Strangely enough, if I make a copy of the ds.exe and rename it, then add it to a copy of the horizon zero dawn profile it works, but only after usually two tries and only with certain resolutions. 4k never works for me, while 1080p and 1440p hooks after two consecutive tries. Any ideas why this seem to work?
Okay, after a bit more testing I noticed that it hooks great with the Horizon Zero Dawn profile. It leads to my conclusion that there is something wrong with this profile.
Now is there a big difference between the two profiles in 3d effect and image quality or are they practically the same?
I hope this information helps.
Crashes on launch. Right after “Sony Interactive Entertainment presents” shown. Latest updates installed on both, vorpX and Horizon – Zero Dawn. Shaders cache is missing after latest game update – shaders being optimized on each game launch (game works fine when launched without vorpX).
HMD Valve Index, GPU nVidia 3090, latest drivers.
Another option for z3d is to run the game in dx12 mode and use the Horizon Zero Dawn profile. I get significantly better performance doing that, and the 3d seems to be a little better.
Hey guys,
Horizon just got an update today, and while before the game just ran like garbage on my machine (textures wouldnt load in, etc, VR did actually work, but I held off on playing the game til a patch)…
So patch came out.. but the game crashes immediately on launch or it will let me get to the first loading screen and crash.
Anyone found a workaround for this yet? I know the game must be launched via SteamVR, I didnt change that setting in Vorpx but still cant get it to not crash. Update is called 1.10, came out 1-19-2021
Someone already testet the dx12 profiles of Gears of War 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077 ?
The profiles of Hitman 1+2 won’t work because they are dx11 profiles.
I read somewhere that it requires dx12fl11. If that’s the case there are only 4 profiles that may work – Cyberpunk2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Death Stranding. That’s assuming there isn’t something else blocking the hook, like an anti-cheat system.
Hey folks,
Got Horizon the other day; I know i heard it was buggy but wanted to check if anyone else trying to use Vorpx is having this feature with the current version of the game.
I have a CV1, Radeon 5600xt, 16g ram, i7-4930k processor and game is installed on a SSD.
I have turned settings all the way down to 720p, everything at low.
It gets like 70% the way through loading and then it crashes, saying something is wrong with Oculus, sometimes saying “the game has crashed” and asks to send an error report.
I have tried to get it to load into the game 10+ times now and dont know if the recent patch broke it or what. I know my Graphics card isnt top top of the line, but I am running it at Low everything and 720p and cant even get into the game. It loads to the main menu, Im allowed to hit “continue” to load a game, but it crashes when the load is around 70% done.
I dont know if this an issue with the game, or with having to use SteamVR when using a Rift because SteamVR and Rift for DX12 games have to both be running.
Anyone know if a recent patch broke the game for Oculus headsets or any tricks to potentially get it working?
Thank you for your time, take care!
I think Gears5 is dx12, so despite being an Unreal Engine 4 game, no existing profile for that engine will work. You can try one of the four dx12 profiles that do exist (Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Cyberpunk2077).
