This feature would require a huge effort, and TBH I’m not really sure whether it would work at all. vorpX runs directly inside a game (or the desktop viewer), it doesn’t just capture the window. So it’s either the desktop or a game, not both at once.

To do what you want, vorpX would have to detect that you have switched to the desktop, detach from the game, attach to desktop viewer and vice versa when you switch back to the game. There are way too many things that can go wrong doing that, starting with reliably detecting that you have switched to the desktop.

You could pause the vorpX watcher after opening the desktop viewer and play games windowed in 2D using the desktop viewer, but of course that would pretty much defeat the purpose of using vorpX.

I play mostly seated so my favorite is HP Reverb true 4K clear as 1080P monitor but you need a top of line gaming computer
Odyssey and Odyssey good for seated and standing (Cheap $249 in US) when on sale.
Valve Index Excellent Tracking good for all games seated, standing and roomscale adjustable refresh rate 80,90,120 and 144 HZ
Index controllers are great.

Rift S excellent tracking for inside out, cheap clear image comes with everything you need and priced at $399 plays steamvr and oculus exclusives games controllers are great.

minus sound no headphones sound tinny headband sound for this is plus because I’m close to deaf in my left ear I can wear hearing aid when I’m using the Rift-S.
Vive Cosmos the worst headset I every owned.
Also any Pimax headsets need base stations, headphones and controllers very pricey $1200 to get started and service is the worst.
I would suggest also to purchase a PCI-express USB 3.0 (StarTech or inatech)

Or the Rift S it is cheaper and you have easy accsess to the Oculus Exclusivs. Oh and with Inside out tracking it is pretty much plug and play.

Falling back to default positional tracking isn’t really a big deal, so that’s the best thing to do in case of issues with DirectVR positional tracking, you don’t lose much. Especially considering that your issue occurs in two totally different games in the same way it could also mean you have actual tracking dropouts though, which might be a headset/setup issue.

If you use a Rift S, WMR headset or other headset with inside out tracking make sure that there always is enough light. In badly lit environments inside out tracking can occasionally fail with pretty much the symptoms you describe.

If you have a lighthouse based system (Vive/Index), similar issues may occur if the lighthouse setup isn’t ideal. In that case try placing your lighthouse sensors in a different way to make sure your headset can be tracked at any time.

Seems that Vorpx keeps changing the BMEngine.ini file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Config folder. Supposedly if you turn off DepthOfField=False this causes characters to go invisible in Sonar mode. I deleted this entire folder and all the contents inside it verified integrity in Steam without Vorpx running and was able to restore the invisible characters. However, when I launched Vorpx with the game Vorpx changed the configuration file ini again and the bug reoccurred.

Steam is not required, only a few games may show an unexpected behave beetween Steam and retail versions.

DX10 can be displayed in 2D only. Please note some games dont work with vorpx at all.

VorpX has different modes (3D Screens) where you can choose from.

If you have a game that doesnt have a 3D profile yet, you can create your own by copying profiles of others games with the same game engine. Inside VorpX you have different ways to manipulate 3D settings also. With DGVoodoo2 (please see forum and google) you are able to play DX7-8 and a few Glide/DX6 games in 3D also.

Note: Only games that render a 3D environment can ever be put into 3D with VorpX. 2D Games like Whispered World can only by played in 2D.

Best if you buy the software and be amazed.

I wanted to play Inside with Vorpx but the game doesnt work with the touch controllers though I enabled gamepad in the Vorpx Menue. Limbo worked fine with the touch controllers. Any help? I dont have a normal gamepad at home :/

official ori definitive edition is glitchy with that game.

I know nothing about vorpX profile-authoring at this point, but I did a LOT of work on TriDef profiles over (approx) a ten-year period, and I’m fairly sure I was the person who first figured out what FO4 was doing with light-sources and managed to get a fully-working G3D profile (the official profile had light-source-depth issues – same problem as vorpX currently has). The F04 engine was rendering certain (not all) light-sources at the same depth as the sky, AND, the only way to get them to display properly was to set both the “Percent in Front” and the “Sky Depth Allocation” to 50%. As long as those two settings were left at 50% you could then adjust overall depth of the scene and most other settings until things looks right, and your light-sources (and sky) were all rendered at the correct depths. I don’t know if you have a way to look inside TriDef profiles, but you can find my old profile (and screen-shots of the critical settings) buried down in the “Old Files” download on this Nexus page: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21902?tab=files – Unzip it and look inside the “Fallout 4 TriDef Profile (True 3D)” folder. Hello everyone,

I would love to play some of my old lightgun shooters such as Time Crisis 2/3/Crisis Zone or Vampire Night in my VR headset, using a VR controller as a weapon.

Time Crisis 2 works fine in vorpx using PCSX2 1.5. I downloaded the USB plugin “nuvee” to simulate a lightgun using the mouse. As far as I’ve seen vorpx can simulate a mouse, but in order to move the mouse, you have to use the trackpad, pointing does not work. I tried using a small program called “vive mouse”, which basically can do what I need (Vive controller acts as a mouse pointer) but it stops working when opening a program.

Does anyone of you know of a way to fully simulate a mouse (something like in Virtual Desktop, unfortonuately the VR controllers also do not work inside PCSX2) using Vive controllers? Does VorpX have this functionality and I just did not set it up right?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Figured it out! I requested a new installer and deleted/reinstalled VorpX.

Upon reinstalling VorpX I was able to rebuild a new profile based on a copy from Nier:Automata.

Booted up the game and was able to use both Z3D options immediately without issue. G3D option is listed but it doesn’t seem to do anything(maybe someone else with more expertise can figure this out?).

The issue lies with the game profile database update – something inside of there is what causes the profile to no longer work. Perhaps a tweak was made for Nier or there is something else going on but by not installing that database update I’m once again able to use FFXIV without any issues.

I tried the alternate hooking method and no dice.

I did not add AT-Win64-Shipping.exe which profile is this located on.

No I didnt try it yet gonna try it out right now as we speak, I havent gotten my hands on kakarot yet but trying to hook to Dragonball Fighter Z. That is also an unreal 4 engine game and the characrter models are all in 3d so it should look super sick in G3D.
