Topic: Ori and the Will of the Wisps
in forum User Profiles
steph12Participanthey :)
good news, i got that game running great without artifacts using official inside profile.
official ori definitive edition is glitchy with that game.
i shared my custom profile online, enjoy.
all credits goes to Ralf for the profile and the amazing power of VorpX !
just keep in mind, i just played the beginning of the game, maybe there will be glitches later on maybe there wont have any.
feel free to put feedbacks here !

mr_spongeworthyParticipantFallout 4 should look pretty well that way, also with default settings its world scale will be correct.
I know nothing about vorpX profile-authoring at this point, but I did a LOT of work on TriDef profiles over (approx) a ten-year period, and I’m fairly sure I was the person who first figured out what FO4 was doing with light-sources and managed to get a fully-working G3D profile (the official profile had light-source-depth issues – same problem as vorpX currently has). The F04 engine was rendering certain (not all) light-sources at the same depth as the sky, AND, the only way to get them to display properly was to set both the “Percent in Front” and the “Sky Depth Allocation” to 50%. As long as those two settings were left at 50% you could then adjust overall depth of the scene and most other settings until things looks right, and your light-sources (and sky) were all rendered at the correct depths. I don’t know if you have a way to look inside TriDef profiles, but you can find my old profile (and screen-shots of the critical settings) buried down in the “Old Files” download on this Nexus page: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21902?tab=files – Unzip it and look inside the “Fallout 4 TriDef Profile (True 3D)” folder. Maybe something there will point you towards how to fix this issue in the vorpX profile as well.
Feb 13, 2020 at 11:00pm #192450Topic: Lightgun Simulation? (Time Crisis 2 – PCSX2)
in forum Game Hints and Settings
Chris11115ParticipantHello everyone,
I would love to play some of my old lightgun shooters such as Time Crisis 2/3/Crisis Zone or Vampire Night in my VR headset, using a VR controller as a weapon.
Time Crisis 2 works fine in vorpx using PCSX2 1.5. I downloaded the USB plugin “nuvee” to simulate a lightgun using the mouse. As far as I’ve seen vorpx can simulate a mouse, but in order to move the mouse, you have to use the trackpad, pointing does not work. I tried using a small program called “vive mouse”, which basically can do what I need (Vive controller acts as a mouse pointer) but it stops working when opening a program.
Does anyone of you know of a way to fully simulate a mouse (something like in Virtual Desktop, unfortonuately the VR controllers also do not work inside PCSX2) using Vive controllers? Does VorpX have this functionality and I just did not set it up right?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

kurovaParticipantFigured it out! I requested a new installer and deleted/reinstalled VorpX.
Upon reinstalling VorpX I was able to rebuild a new profile based on a copy from Nier:Automata.
Added to hook list:
-ffxiv_dx11.exe
-ffxiv.exeAdded to excluded programs:
-ffxivlauncher.exe
-ffxivlauncher64.exeBooted up the game and was able to use both Z3D options immediately without issue. G3D option is listed but it doesn’t seem to do anything(maybe someone else with more expertise can figure this out?).
The issue lies with the game profile database update – something inside of there is what causes the profile to no longer work. Perhaps a tweak was made for Nier or there is something else going on but by not installing that database update I’m once again able to use FFXIV without any issues.
Hope this helps someone else get their game up and running! :)

I tried the alternate hooking method and no dice.
I did not add AT-Win64-Shipping.exe which profile is this located on.
No I didnt try it yet gonna try it out right now as we speak, I havent gotten my hands on kakarot yet but trying to hook to Dragonball Fighter Z. That is also an unreal 4 engine game and the characrter models are all in 3d so it should look super sick in G3D.

Jan 28, 2020 at 12:24am #192124In reply to: Pre-Purchase Question, thanks in advance!
TheBaltParticipantTo be clear – vorpx does go into config files and uses mouse movement for headtracking and may set it that way by ‘default’ in most games. The Vorpx in game menu (you will have access to it inside your headset, its usually defaulted to the DEL key, i believe) will be the way to make sure you disable headtracking and stuff and just be ready to have to go into that and change those settings.. come back here if you have any questions. The Vorpx Menu in game will let you ‘change the profile’s settings’; if you make changes and decide you dont like them and want to revert to the original profile, you can use the vorpx program (this will be on your PC screen once youre up and running) and go to “Cloud Profiles” – type in the game you want and find the Bioshock (vorpx) version and select “import profile”, thatll get you back to the standard settings for any game’s profile in case you mess up settings and arent sure how to get them back to default.
really tho – if you have any questions, come back here. Its a fantastic product but it does come with its own nuances and the creator is always happy to help, youll see him post often on here, Ralf, but also some of us who use the program alot can try to help if you run into any issues.
Hope you enjoy, its a great program, even for 3rd person games. Currently playing Darksiders 3 in Vorpx and its like looking out a window, projectiles come at you for real, the characters truly appear ‘in the distance’…. the program gets alot of flak from some people but really – its just people who arent willing to take the time and ask questions. If you got any, bring em here and we will try to help.

hedtripParticipantWell I tried the shark ark profile on PIXARK and is like to see a big screen with an 3d effect.
Not inside the game and not 6dof.
Playing on ark vr native mode is better the with shark profile.Or maybe i’m doing something wrong.Jan 23, 2020 at 11:54pm #192043In reply to: Game in window and strange blur when turning/moving
TheBaltParticipantAs i mentioned before i’ve tryed Alien Isolation on vorpX and it’s suck pretty bad. Then i’ve tryed free VR mod for that game and… it was outstanding – like the game was already wrote for VR – if you don’t believe me just check this out: https://github.com/Nibre/MotherVR/releases (for now i recommend 0.6.0 version cause 0.8.0 got some ugly bug with pressing the button all the time). But still on 0.6.0 it works very well.
Alien Isolation WAS developed for VR. It was a sideproject inside the development process while the DK2 was released. When Alien Isolation released on day 1 you could command line it to do VR with an Oculus DK2.
This is an entirely apples and bananas scenario, when you bring in games that are designed ground up for VR, which alien isolation specifically had a team building a VR version of the game while developing the actual game. It WAS built for VR – Vorpx is NEVER going to compare to native VR, if thats your barometer, then yeah, you wont get that experience out of Vorpx.
And honestly asking this to ‘work out of the box’ is just simply impossible. Vorpx is doing what these games were fundamentally not ‘built’ to do (which in the case of Alien Isolation, it was built for VR, thats why you found that good mod – its not a mod, theyre just skipping the command line stuff i had to do 5 years ago with the DK2)
So.. yeah, if youre basing it off of ‘it doesnt compare to REAL VR titles’… then no, Vorpx will never be what you want it to be.
If youre willing to say “hey playing dishonored 1 and 2 in full 3d, leaning around corners and everything sounds cool without motion controls – but i might have to fiddle with some settings for 20 minutes”… then youre a Vorpx user. If you dont want to have those kinds of game experiences, then yeah, its just not a program for you unfortunately.
I wish there was an easier way to do this stuff, but honestly, the tech here in vorpx is grade A compared to everything else on the market that even attempts to do what its doing. There have been others before, im not sure how long youve been in the VR communnity, but there were like 4 of these programs going around during DK2 days of trying to ‘turn old games’ in 3d vr games and Vorpx ended up being the best of the bunch that were trying it.. but this is all from like 4 years ago, if you werent around for all that then i can understand you not have the perspective of just how good vorpx is… cause i tried the alternatives.. they were not good. Vorpx works.. if youre willing to work with it. The others – they just didnt even have the basics down.. and thankfully Vorpx survived and we still getting updates :)
but if youre looking for a fun game anyhow – just tried walking dead saints and sinners.. its amazing! Go check out some vids of it if you get a chance, but totally worth a purchase, i think atleast

RalfKeymaster20/01/10
vorpX 20.1.1 has been released. This is a medium sized maintenance release, mainly aimed at improving/updating existing profiles and addressing a few issues that have been reported recently. On top of that Immersive Screen and Cinema play styles can now be configured for comfortable reclined gaming and a couple of smaller improvements have been implemented. The release also comes with three new game profiles.
As a new service some short descriptions of the games that got profiles added. Let me know if you consider that useful or unnecessary fluff.
Journey
This is an enhanced version of the PS3/4 masterpiece from 2013 that finally was released for PC a few months ago. Find your way through a barren desert in search for a mysterious mountain on the horizon. A unique game with a whopping Metacritic score of 92 for its original release that you will find in many top lists of the best games ever created. More captivating than ever in 3D with vorpX’s Immersive Screen Mode.

Feeling grumpy today? This is for you then. A cute 3D-platformer that will put a smile on your face immediately. Who needs Mario when you can have A Hat in Time? Defaults to Immersive Screen Mode, but if you have the stomach, you might also want to try FullVR, vorpX takes care of adjusting the FOV etc.
Little Nightmares
A Steam surprise hit from roughly a year ago. Guide a little girl in a yellow raincoat through her little nightmares in this 2.5D platformer. If you haven’t tried that already, you will be surprised how much fun games like this can be on a huge (virtual) 3D screen. A must for everyone who likes games like Limbo or Inside even a little bit.

DestroyParticipantGot it to work. Seems using DX8 was the key. I thought it was DX9 and kept trying to use the DX9 dll files hence also getting the popup warning message from VorpX.
You’re right, Ghost Recon 2001 is DX8. I put the D3D8.dll, dgVoodoo.conf and dgVoodooCpl.exe inside the games folder where the game’s exe is located, ran dgVoodooCpl to set the .conf file and used the VorpX Ghost Recon(2001) cloud profile. Starting the game from GoG.com works fine.
Works well, thank you.

wyattwicParticipantThe folder is already excluded, you have executable being written to the tmp folder then ran, causing the new issues I’m having.
vorpcontrol.exe is also already considered trusted and doesn’t need an exclusion but flags on the files you are writing to “\AppData\Local\Temp”. The flag description tells me that McAfee doesn’t recognize the file in temp as yours and looks like a privilege escalation attempt of a tool kit.
Is there an option to modify that behavior to keep the file inside the installation directory?
I want to help you get your program away from being detected. I get paid to do this for programs I don’t enjoy. I enjoy your program, I would like to help.
Goodnight, I’ll be on tomorrow!

Hello everyone,
I would love to play some of my old lightgun shooters such as Time Crisis 2/3/Crisis Zone or Vampire Night in my VR headset, using a VR controller as a weapon.
