RalfKeymasterThis was indeed added more or less for you. I somehow doubt that this will be played very often by anyone else.
I certainly won’t stop you buying another copy. :)
The game has a Game Optimizer profile which forces 1920×1080 (yet stretched) which you should apply in the config app. The vorpX settings are dialed in to work best with this forced resolution. Together with a bit of aspect ratio mangling inside vorpX this way it looks as good as it gets for a game without widescreen support.

KarlorParticipantI get what your saying here and it would be cool to be able to dial it up or down inside vorpx. Although I haven’t had to much of an issue with it. I use a game pad usually so for those instances I can make up for it with just using a joystick to fine tune the aim if need be. I could see some games, depending on how they handle the aiming speeds could make it a real pain if you wanted to rely on head movement(realism) over just navigating with a controller.
Outside of vorpx:
You could maybe try setting up a key press that after a certain amount of time of being held(such as to aim) it switches to a faster mouse setting. You might be able to figure out how to do this outside of vorpx with xpadder or joy 2 key maybe. There also might be a way to hotkey some system mouse speeds then you could set up a way so when you aim it also presses the system mouse speed hotkey you set up. Sort of an automatic toggle thing.Feb 13, 2015 at 5:54pm #79980In reply to: Requesting support for Dying Light
KarlorParticipantOh also inside of vorpX (del) go over to where you can set what is assigned to the game pad buttons via what vorpx assigns when you select handle game pad internally. Go into these buttons and change them to something that dose not ever get used in the game like (.) that way it minimizes the interference of vorx and the game pad works inside the game engine itself.

KarlorParticipantThere are 2 main things I have noticed that makes it do that when you get close to an object. The first and most important setting you need to get set so you feel comfortable and that is IPD. the rift comes with a ballpark setting of like 75. But a ball park is pretty big, its like buying a one size fits all pants and expecting them to fit great. My IPD is 62.2. Getting this set correctly is A #1 on the list of things to do. Next is go stand next to something until it gets the double effect going then reduce your 3D strength inside vropX menu until you feel comfortable. Works for me every time.
Feb 11, 2015 at 12:26am #79934In reply to: VorpX doesn't recognize my DK1
KarlorParticipantI had this happen with my DK2 before. Im not sure why it stopped but I was messing with alot of settings and experimenting around with all kinds of input devices and other stuff.
Solution:
Open vorpx config, go to general, then under device settings inside of general you can select what device vorpx uses. In your case pick dk1. Hope that helpsFeb 7, 2015 at 7:11pm #79881In reply to: Metro 2033 mouse not working
mgabbParticipantI’ve managed to have Metro2033 work somewhat:
deactivated Oculus
launched Metro2033
set the game for Dx9 and quit
reactivated Oculus
relaunched Metro2033now the mouse cursor is still stuck in the left area of the screen, yet the keyboard allows by continuously tapping over the menus to continue a game or start a new one, at least I can progress: inside the game everything works, although the mouse pointer is limited (in menus only) to the left area
Jan 2, 2015 at 12:55pm #26984In reply to: Bioshock infinite
NeodementiaParticipantI just finished Bioshock Infinite with dk2 and vorpx which was one of the greatest game experiences of my life. This was the steam version, running windows 7 on an evga nvidea 640 with 8 gb ddr2, with graphics set to very high. I used the following setup:
In game settings:
Start Bioshock Infinite without vorpx first.
Go to options, graphics, set field of view to max.
Ensure game is fullscreen, and 1920X1080.
Start New Game, enter the light house, exit game.
(Ensuring ini creation, and a good point to trigger autosave to jump in and out of game while adjusting)
Startup Vorpx.
Right click tray icon, Configure Vorpx, General Settings,
Under Disaply/Monitors set to Show on Rift DK2 and disable Aero on game start.
(I have had alot of luck with this working correctly since the patch)
Apply and close.
Restart Bioshock Infinite with vorpx on.
You should be able to see well enough to continue your game.
(Use middle mouse click edge peak if needed to enter game)
Ingame vorpx settings:
Once ingame push Delete on your keyboard to bring up vorpx menu.
Click Mouse wheel to zoom back in to see menu clearly.
On Main tab:
Set 3d Reconstruction Z Normal
Seperation (3d-strength) 2.00
Depth Weighting (Near-Far) 1.00
(These are the most immersive 3d setting I found, that do not distort quality or cause my stomach to turn)
On Display Tab:
Fix Chromatic Aberration On
Image Zoom 0.67
(This will pull the camera back far enough to capture most of the screen without taking you out of the screen)
On Input Tab:
HT Sensitivity .38
HT Roll On
HT Smoothing Very Low
(This will seem a bit slow, once you reach the target practice area i suggest you practice till perfect learning to aim and shoot using head tracking before you proceed, and tweak these settings to what suits you. Alot of people dislike this method of shooting and want the crosshair disconnected, but having tried steamvr halflife 2 I can tell you hands down, I love aiming with headtracking. You will also want to tweak your right joystick sensitivity ingame control options to your liking, I also found that a lower sensitivity worked for me.)
Handle Gamepads Internally Off
Head Tracking as Gamepad Off
(This will allow you to play with an xbox controller using in game setup, which does not coflict with head tracking for me)
OK&Save (exit vorpx panel)
Exit Game one more time.
INI Settings:
Open the following folder:
C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config
Open XUserOptions.ini with notepad.
Change:
MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent=00.000000
To:
MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent=28.570000
(This will boost your fov back far enough to make the depth feel correct)
Save and Close
Open XGame.ini with notepad.
Change:
[XCore.XScreenManager]
bUseDefaultSafeRect=true
SafeRectX0=0
SafeRectY0=0
SafeRectX1=1920
SafeRectY1=1080
MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=1
To:
[XCore.XScreenManager]
bUseDefaultSafeRect=false
SafeRectX0=0
SafeRectY0=0
SafeRectX1=900
SafeRectY1=700
MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=0
Save and Close
(This last edit alters the positioning of your hud elements. These settings will pull your healthbar, vigorbar etc inside your field of view. This will allow you to enjoy the game without ever having to use edge peak)
Restart Bishock infinite and enjoy.Dec 30, 2014 at 10:33pm #26911In reply to: DK2 SDK 0.4.4
RalfKeymasterPlease see the document that is linked from the supported games page. It’s a bit outdated, some games are missing and there are more G3D games in the meantime, also the list is growing constantly, but it gives you a good overview.
BTW: VR is not only (not even primarily) about Stereo 3D. The great thing about VR is being literally inside the game. That works even completely without Stereo 3D.
Hope that answers your questions.

MatteNeoxParticipantSaw today that vorpx got updated. In these 2-4 hours ive tried New vegas and it works perfect. Changed fov 120 and when i play i use default and when im going in the menu i just click mousescroll and i get the whole pic or i can look and the view goes to that section of the pic.
But the most epic…. Arma 3. To see inside chopper and look around when im flying and see everything in the right scale(lifelike) or when im shooting with a tank or sniping and everything just works. Extended and to start on monitor rift (while i have my screen as primary) and just start the game and press scroll så navigate menu and then scrollbutton when im inside the game..
Så fucking awesome guys. Ty for this update.

RalfKeymasterCan you post a screenshot (for example done with FRAPS) or a photo from inside the Rift? If it’s not an IPD issue, I’m not sure whether I understand your problem.
Dec 4, 2014 at 11:09am #26247In reply to: Crosshair question
OculusRiftRocksParticipantoh right, well that seems interesting I will give that a go with the new update and let you know how it goes.
“at least to all games that allow to somehow separate the HUD programatically inside vorpX”
hmm, not sure how you mean there, some games allow you to change the hud with ‘scale UI’, some games when you increase the 3D FOV enhancement it also moves the hud as well, changing camera height modifier sometimes also changes hud position (but not camera position).
also I did try Z-3D in black mesa, unfortunately the crosshair has a distressing shimmering effect when that type of 3D is engaged, overall I just played the game in 2D due to these issues, however the game worked really well in 3D and would love to get the crosshair issue fixed.
if this fix works this may also solve the 3 tomb raider games, as those games also had those issues.
Nov 29, 2014 at 3:15pm #26163In reply to: Crosshair question
RalfKeymasterQuite a few games will allow you to give a custom depth value to HUD elements (incl. the crosshair) in Geometry 3D mode shortly, which mitigates the issue for the most part. Won’t apply to everything, but at least to all games that allow to somehow separate the HUD programatically inside vorpX, for which there are several methods now. Not sure ATM whether Black Mesa is among them though.
The other way to achieve something like laser sight is using one of the Z-Buffer 3D modes. In these modes the crosshair is always drawn at the depth of the scene elements it is overlaying.
Oct 28, 2014 at 7:21pm #21688In reply to: Unsupported games with stereo 3D
OculusRiftRocksParticipantThanks for that link, you should try bulletstorm, it has perfect 3D with strength set at 1, unfortunately ADS has double vision in the gunsight so i have to lower it to 0.4, if you can think of a way to hide that part of the gun that would be perfect, you will know what I mean when you install it
See below for my head fix (alingns AND scales)
under stormhud.ini set the values
BaseScreenWidth=1200
BaseScreenHeight=1620this pushes the hud to the center, it also scales the hud by the resolution, so it makes the hud much smaller, so for once the crosshair size is decent inside vorpx.
im trying to find a way to move the hud up from this point, any help would be appreciated.
I tried renaming crysis 3’s exe, but it didn’t work, vorpx just loaded the regular crysis 3 profile, any other advice?
Oct 27, 2014 at 10:08pm #21490
moarveerParticipantI’m talking about a setting inside the vorpx menu, when you’re using geometry 3d there’s a 3d fov setting that can cause disappearing textures if it’s too high.
I hope it helps!
Oct 27, 2014 at 1:09pm #21410
deezdramaParticipantmoarveer… thanks for the reply
Im pretty sure im in znormal mode and the low frames but will check.
As for the 3d FOV causing issues… maybe this is why I am having problems with all different install options (overhauled 3.0, overhauled 3.0 with older graphics extender option, vanilla morrowind with mge ex)
This would be good and bad,
good- since I should be able to get it to run with overhaul 3.0Bad- that I spent a day reinstalling a million times if this was the only issue LOL
But…. what FOV option are you speaking of exactly?
The one that you set in the morrowind graphics extender options (fov 120 is what i set mine to because of guides ive read)
or…. is it a setting from inside the vorpx menu itself?thanks again!
