I just purchased vorpx and have been tweaking settings for a play through of Resident Evil 7. From what I’ve read it seems that playing in geometry3d causes parts of the game to be invisible so I figured I would play in znormal instead since this is my first playthrough.

1 – My problem is that when in znormal tilting my head causes some very strange movement as if the screen is tilting in the opposite direction as my head tilt. So my first question is is there any fix for that?

2 – If there isn’t a fix for that then my follow up question is is there any way to “tilt” the screen a fixed amount? The reason for this is that I have a medical condition which causes my head to always be tilted slightly right(even though it feels straight and natural to me). This constant head tilt coupled with the strange screen tilt of Znormal means that the game constantly looks like it is on a tilt.
    Like so: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OcRnvii1671iQqF0MtO3fqiqjv2eGtiO/view?usp=sharing

So i figured if there is a way to tilt the screen a fixed amount I could tilt it to compensate for my wack head tilt thus making it look level for me. Thanks if anyone can offer some advice!

ps this isnt an issue in geometry3d (or real life for that matter) cause I guess my brain makes sense of it or something since its actually 3d, dunno

Hi everyone, I am hoping for help from technical support.
I have this problem. I want to use another profile and not the default one. I usually download a profile of a user from the cloud and the vorpx program warns me that there is already a profile that uses that particular .exe file. I accept and download the user’s profile by removing the exe file from the default profile. from that moment I can add the exe file in the profiles I want. I do this because for example with steam games it does not allow the modification of the game exe. now having said that my problem is that some profiles don’t download them to me. for example alien isolation, if I try to download a user profile from the cloud, I import it without telling me that the exe is already used by another profile, it immediately gives me the imported profile message. but in reality if I go to see in the local profiles, there is always only the default profile and not that of the user. this happens with some games, for example redident evil village, which is what interests me. Resident evil 7 instead works, it asks me if I want to overwrite the existing profile and then in the local profiles it shows me the user profile I downloaded. I hope Ralf reads and lends me a hand. Thank you

DU1G0 since you also use virtual desktop, if you activate the performance overlay on the virtual desktop menu, you will notice that the fps decreases and the latency increases exponentially. by chance you also have resident evil 7? can you try it and see if it equals resident evil 8?

however i dont think it is a cable or virtual desktop problem. but of the vorpx software. because if the demo works well, the full game must also work well. besides, the problem I have only with this game, indeed with this and with resident evil 7, after the hotfix, made for the problem of resident evil 8.

    Hi everyone,

I installed Vorpx a few days ago and I still cannot launch a game with it. I’m trying to use Vorpx with Resident Evil 7 on Steam. I’m using an Oculus Quest 2.

First I connect my Oculus by USB-3 then I activate Oculus Link. I open Vorpx with “Start Vorpx” and a tray appears in the task bar. Then I configure Vorpx, I set “Oculus” in the Device Selection and I choose Resident Evil 7 in the game list, then I apply. I open Steam and launch SteamVR. My Oculus is recognized and I launch Resident Evil 7. A message appears to tell me that the game is not VR and I press OK. The game’s launched but I cannot see Vorpx message that tells me Vorpx is attaching re7.exe. If I press del button, nothing happens.
    I execute re7.exe in a windowed mode.

Please help me, I really don’t know what to do.

    Thanks for the help

The easiest way to play the game is with everything set to default. The default settings are dialed in to just work without any tinkering at all.

I would highly recommend to do just that, you won’t even notice that the image is cut off at the top/bottom after a little while.

If you really can’t live with the bars, you will have to raise the game’s FOV beyond what it allows normally with a mod:

    1. Download and run the mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil7/mods/23.
    2. Set the FOV to 127 in the mod.
    3. Set the Image Zoom to 1.0 in vorpX.
    4. For a crisper image raise the ‘Resolution Scaling’ in the game’s graphics options.

Aspect ratio: Only with a 16:9 res the game will ever fully fill the view in the headset, at narrower aspect ratios it displays black bars itself. Also the FOV value for the mod will have to be slightly lower for 1440×900, probably something around 120.

Controllers: Either just move them out of sight or disable them in the vorpX menu. They will also disappear after a while when they go to sleep.

Hi guysss, so i am new to this app and i wanted to play resident evil 7, the first time i seen that the image was like a box or cinema screen it was not fullscreen so i searched and i found out that i can zoom the image, ok i can zoom in the image and its not looking like the objects are entering my face but the thing is the game is becoming very blurry and the max resolution i can put in the game is 1440×900 because of my monitor, do i really need a 16:9 resolution and i also tried the FOV trainer into the game directory and setting, i think at first changed but i dont know, i dont see the change (i am barely at the beggining of the game).

Also if i want to play with just my keyboard how can i make the controller disappear, i like to play much more with them because its more immersive when i am standing but… i cant do all things with the controllers like i can do with a keyboard.

I believe it’s automatically injected. Or go to local profiles and search resident evil village.

And I’d tested the Scope thing, seems like after I disabled the 2nd monitor, it doesn’t mess the game up! Omg, VorpX and Ralf is amazing! Also thanks to ParadiseDecay for the new Profile. It really work wonders for people who owns a RTX 2070 or lesser GPU. Love the look of the 3D as well as the smoothness of the game. (Gets around 68-80fps on 1080p) Game still looks sharp and beautiful.

I also tried with air link and the problem remains. what I really don’t understand is how it is possible that the demo worked fine and why also resident evil 7, which used to work fine now has the same problem as 8. Ralf and Ran, thanks anyway for your interest

I’m crazy. After the latest update of vorpx resident evil 8 and resident evil 7 they became unplayable. whether the settings are high or idle the game does not exceed 25fps. I don’t really understand why! I don’t think it’s a settings problem because games like exodus enchanted at maximum settings works great at 90fps! I use oculus quest 2 with virtual desktop, the only thing I noticed is that in resident evil 7 and 8 after a minute of playing the latency increases me up to 100ms.

    Hi Ralf,

I just purchased Vorpx for Resident evil 8. However, it keeps failing to attach and it’s stuck on the loading screen for Oculus and stuck in the home screen on SteamVr. I am using a Rift S and rtx 2060. Bought resident evil 8 on steam.

    I need help!

You might want to change the Device Selection to SteamVR (Index, Vive, Primax) if it is not injecting.
If you read the conversation that is in this post, my friend, you’d see that as it is now, RE8 is not good friends with vorpX…

The Demo was in an OK terms…
So we all have to sit tight and hope for some sort of a solution, BeardoBenjo and the-VR-realm get low 7-8 FPS in game. As BeardoBenjo said in his comment – A SlideShow…

I don’t know what he did, but now it works. i started it once with vorpx desktop streamer and in window mode, then it started me working with normal vorpx too. And now it works for me also with resident evil 3! it’s really crazy cool, I never stop thanking whoever invented this vorpx program !!!!!!

Lucky you, to still does not work.
Can you describe exactly what you did step by step?
    Thanks

Hello everybody. I managed to start Resident evil 8 village demo with cyberpunk 2077 profile. Unfortunately it doesn’t have g3d but only z adaptive. if someone could get it started with g3d or another profile that works better, write it to me and upload the profile to the cloud

Hi guys , i am new to vorpx and i am struggling to understand some stuff

*i run the games using steam vr option not quest

1- i tried Resident evil 7 , the image quality is so so bad its not even acceptable to play at , cant even read texts . and i can see black borders , and it feels like just the image is following my head and not like i am in the game .

2- when i tried Black ops 3 , the aim is following the headset so i want apple to use the mouse and headset aim at the same time . how can i fix this ?

3- i cant run my quest 2 wireless using virtual desktop , i keep getting quest is not found message when i open any game

Idk if vorpx is just bad like this or i am using it wrong ?

Well. The point is that I have almost perfect CPU + GPU and I am just able to play at 720p using geometric on 3rd person games.

I have tried FFXV , I got 60fps at 720p. Therefore unplayable. I do not know which other 3rd person game I can try.

So is something wrong or G3D just supposed to work with very very few games or just first person games?

Comparing FFXV and RE2 , resident evil 7 runs with amazing perfomance.

Also returning my 5800X is pointless… I did not get better perfomance. Maybe just a bit (10% more resolution maybe?) but as I said, is not like I could play those games better using G3D with this new cpu.
