    I should clarify-

    Games hook
I can open the vorpx menu
Clicking the arrow for 3d reconstruction does nothing
Other options work in the menu

Attempted games where the menu appeared

    Outer Worlds 2
    Psychonauts 2
    Katamari Reroll

Native VR games work as intended

I have used vorpx for almost 3 years. Past year havent touched it.

Reinstalled yesterday and attempted to play some games.
I could get it to hook (outer worlds 2 in this case) but when i pull up the menu it says
“3D Reconstruction [Off]” with arrows next to it. This is what enables geometry/z 3d etc…

In the past ive had no problems turning on immersive mode, full VR mode etc… I can still select these, but none of them turn 3D render/3d reconstruction on. it remains off.

Any insight? Ive tried fullscreen mode for the game, and 2 different titles. They both load into vorpx and go into immersive “theater” mode, but no 3D.

    Help please?

I can’t get Direct VR to work in The Outer Worlds. Tested with G3D, znormal/adaptative. Any ideas? Thanks.

So I’m a new VorpX player and went ahead and launched The Outer Worlds with VorpX configured to WMR, and was staggered at how great it looks. Raif, serious kudos. Will probably go on to New Vegas or Cyber after a playthrough.

I have only one niggly issue. I can get head tracking to work or y-axis mouse movement, but not both.
And I can’t figure out where the setting is for that. I have two saved games where in one, I have y-axis mouse movement but no head tracking, then another where I tweaked some settings and have head tracking but no y-axis mouse movement. I thought I saw a ‘y-axis mouse’ option in the VorpX settings in game but I don’t see it anymore. I have x-axis mouse movement with head tracking, but no y-axis.

Is there any way around that?

I’m trying to play Outer Worlds(the original, not the Spacer’s Choice Edition) with Vorpx for the first time, but when it starts the default profile shows Z-normal mode, with no resolution option selection. When I enter in game, DirectVR fails everytime I try(with z-normal and g3d). I reset game, vorpx, pc with the same result. I thought this game could be played with G3D and Direct VR in all its glory :(
Has anyone tried the game recently? Thank you in advance.

I downloaded the original profile again from the cloud just in case, but without success. Tested with BETA 23.1.0 and regular 21.3.5

    I run with Windows 11 22H2 updated, i7 12700k, 32GB RAM, RTX 3090, HP REVERB G2

Hi, just want to check what you said about the Outer Worlds profile (can be downloaded directly into vorpx config) is still working? Does the DirectVR work well for Outer Worlds? I am considering buying vorpx for this

It is a very frustrating situation.
I bought Vorpx mainly to play certain games like GTA4, GTA5, Red dead 2, bioshock or The Outer Worlds and it just so happens that the company that owns it is a b#####hit.
Luckily I discovered great experiences with vorpx with fallout/Elder scroll saga, but there is no guarantee that in a few months I will be able to play them due to similar circumstances…

OK, just found out what this thread was about. Sure wish I hadn’t installed that ‘profiles update.’ I didn’t realize it would delete my ability to play The Outer Worlds, which was one of my best experiences with vorpX to date (full VR mode!)

I have copious backups; so hopefully I’ll be able to recover my profile.

I do, however, understand that eventually Ralf may have to remove compatibility with certain games. There is no doubt that some game companies are there only for profit, not for the love of the gaming, and somehow think that a new market playing their games in VR is a downside, not an upside. Sure, they are wrong (I’ve purchased quite a few flat-games ONLY because they are known to work well in vorpX, for example), but that won’t change their minds.

He’s a very small developer, let’s demonstrate understanding and support, not anger. What’s worse; worrying that ignorant lawyers will threaten your livelihood? Or not being able to play a game *exactly* the way you prefer?

This sets a dangerous precedent for compatible games currently working with your software not being available in the future. Many people, myself included, purchased your software to play or continue playing specific games that are now no longer available, which I believe is a breach of consumer laws that would mandate you provide a refund to any who request it.

You’re opening yourself up to potential liability issues in the future if you continue removing games without warning, particularly without informing customers well in advance. How can we be sure future games, particularly popular titles, won’t be prevented from working in the future?

I, for one, primarily purchased vorpx because I wished to play Outer Worlds in VR knowing it was compatible and available; if you’re unwilling to host vorpx compatible profiles on your server, that’s your choice, but if other users wish to provide and freely share their own custom made profiles in whatever manner they wish, what right do you have to prevent them from doing so by blocking the software from running such games at all, particularly since they’re adding back in features you’ve removed after the fact?

I don’t understand what the problem is. the outer worlds is an unreal engine 4 game in dx11. it’s full of profiles, I don’t think the official one had any dedicated settings

I don’t know if this your problem, but I know I could find this no where in the search results. You have to download the Outer Worlds profile off of the cloud in your vorpx config. This is mentioned nowhere even in search results, so don’t ask about it or we’ll piss of Ralph again D:

After I downloaded that I had great 3D and DirectVR.

Thought i’d make a list as iv’e been trying out some more games with VorpX:

    1: Red Dead Redemption 2
    2: Cyberpunk 2077
    3: Prey (2017) & Mooncrash
4: Space Hulk Deathwing Enhanced Edition
    5: Shadow Warrior 2

Games that i have not played yet but i have tested them with VorpX & they work good once i set the game & VorpX settings to my liking so will probably be added to my list once i have played more:

    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    The Outer Worlds
    Resident Evil 7
    Chernobylite

I see references to perfect G3D profiles (TW3, for example), only to find that no matter which game I try there are always errors in the rendering. The only titles I can think of that I’m currently running where shadows and lighting are 100% correct are FO3 and FNV (although there are pip-boy and terminal issues; that’s minor since I can hot-key to turn off 3D for those). Every single other title I try has either shadow or lighting issues or both, and yes I’m allowing vorpX to ‘change game settings.’ Off the top of my head titled I’ve tried that I thought had proper G3D but didn’t are FO4, Outer Worlds, ELEX and LiS.

Considering how well many of these older titles run in G3D, it would be really nice to be able to use G3D a lot more often. Is this a Pimax thing, or are these issues universal?

It will be really interesting to try those, especially if they work well in Immersive Screen mode, which is usually how I play CP.

It would be so cool to see these types of gestures brought to other titles, as I think you mentioned may be possible? I would vote for older titles that run really well in VR (F03, FNV) getting the treatment first, but I understand that’s probably not best for your business model. Outer Worlds might be a good one. Or the Mass Effect trilogy if you can wedge in a first person mod (that would be impressive.)
