Hi there, I’ve been using VorpX for World of Warcraft with Oculus, and it’s been great.

Wow has updated the game (“Tides of Vengenace” update), and suddenly VorpX does not connect to it. It tries, and it says “Attaching to Wow.exe”, but after a while, Wow starts up normally, and then VorpX puts up another dialog: “This takes quite a while. If you suspect the program hangs or you don’t want to use vorpX with to it, click the according button”. I choose Do nothing, but there’s Wow running without VorpX.

It’s like VorpX can’t “talk” to Wow anymore after their update? It thinks Wow didn’t respond or that it hung. Though it maybe works partially, because it still redirects audio to the Oculus Rift.

I stopped Oculus and VorpX and restarted them fresh, but still the same. Plus Oculus software then updated itself, but still no luck even after that.

    Please help? Thanks!

Hi, I’m playing wow right now, leveling (Battle For Azeroth)
I’m doing some tests with Vorpx cinema / inmersive / full VR modes.
I have tested some interface addons and some FOV parameters through LUA,but…I have a question that I would like to solve.

How can we get tracking head without the need to keep click on left mouse button for this game?
I’m doing some tests with my main character (warlock) at a distance, alternating first person camera, but I need to solve the problem to get tracking.

    Hi!
I’ve just purchased Vorpx to use it with some titles. Between these there is World of Warcraft cause i really want to visit Azeroth in 3D. I’ve read a lot of post in this forum but no guide how to make it works.
I’ve installed Vorpx. Started. Launched Warcraft form executable, Vorpx start to attach wow.exe (wow64.exe doesn’t exist anymore) but nothing it doesn’t starts. What i’m doing wrong?
I’ve to start Steam VR instead of Oculus rift software?
    BTW I’ve Win10.
Thanks in advice for your help.
And sorry If i missed some post regard wow.

Howdy, I purchased vorpX for World Of Warcraft . I think after the new expansion Battle For Azeroth vorpX no longer supports. I’m playing geometry mode
Is there a download update Or it will take more time.

After I updated to the latest World of Warcraft patch (8.0), 3d did not working anymore. Was not noticing a difference with geometry mode, and 3d fov was not doing anything. Any idea when this will be supported?

I went through the supported games list, and didn’t see much of anything.

There’s Nier Automata, which sounds pretty great. Not much else other than that, though. There’s also Dark Souls, but I’d prefer something a little closer to a traditional JRPG. It’d definitely be worth a shot for the spoopy atmosphere if I got it. And in the way of MMOs, not much else besides World of Warcraft, if anything?

I’d love to play Final Fantasy XIV, XI, Tera, Blade & Soul, Black Desert, Bless Online, even ArcheAge. But not World of Warcraft or Elder Scrolls Online.

And I would love to play some of my JRPG library on Steam. But the only JRPG I see is Nier, and Dark Souls if that counts.

Any very Asian games I can hope to play that aren’t listed on the Supported page?

Ok thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate the reply. I’ve tinkered around with a few profile with kind of a guess and check approach with still no solid results. I understand generally the nature of this driver though so I know its far from perfect software. As far as profile recommendations, are there others from the list that may work well with world of warcraft? Also what makes the profiles so different? Is each profile more of like a handwritten per-app alteration or are there ways to tweak some of the more advanced options in profiles? For example, for hooking does file path of the app trying to be hooked matter at all?

Hello, yesterday I made the purchase for vorpx. I had difficulty getting it to attach so I formatted my computer and reinstalled windows. I’ve read these forums extensively, there are no overlay software running. (disabled steam overlay to be safe) No software has been installed other than Steam/vr, vorpx, nvidia driver, and the games I’ve tried to launch which include TF2, Vermintide, lichdom battlemage, and world of warcraft. TF2 gets to steamvr being unresponsive to hl2.exe, then just closes completely leaving steam vr idle. Vermintide is not detected by vorpx or steam vr and just launches as normal. Lichdom runs, and vorpx seems to attach, but only plays in immersive screen mode or theater with no depth rendering. Wow launches, vorpx attempts to attach and then hangs indefinitely.

These results were pretty much the same both before and after a fresh install so I feel I may just be over looking something, or require a minor fix? I’ve attempted to disable windows defender even with no difference, and no other anti virus, monitoring, overlay, streaming, or any type of similar software is installed.

Please advise on next steps to try, thanks in advance!

So I’ll start with the disclaimer that Blizzard has a pretty hard stance on 3rd party programs interacting with their games. They have their online monitoring system, Warden, running as you play. Now, there have been several discussions on the blizzard forums with non-answers and “well, it’s probably okay as long as it doesn’t automate anything” but we don’t know that Blizzard is okay with something like VorpX running. So…I started a new account specifically for VorpX/VR as to protect my 14-year old BNet account…

So I’ve leveled to 70 so far, 100% in VR. It is fantastic! There is so, so much you gain when playing in VR. The detail on stuff in the game, the texture work/design…even things like face paint on the trolls, or picture frames on the wall that are actually in 3d…seeing other people around you (and their mounts) in full 3D models…everything is just great. The cartoonish style lends itself well to VR.

I feel like this is something I’ve been waiting for most of my life, FINALLY experiencing Warcraft in the 3D world (as opposed to just wow and the RTS games). I’ve noticed things I’ve never seen…things like warlock spells actually arching over your head before coming down on top of your target, or druid spells (that cast lunar or solar) actually throwing giant moons over targets before blasting them with beams…the sense of scale, the grandeur of the world you’re in…it creates a very different feel to the game and is an experience worth having.

The only issues I had/have are having to zoom to 3rd person to make it easier to find “gather these items”-type quests, or wanting to zoom out when I’m fighting a bunch of stuff at once, just to make sense of things. And of course, since it’s not natively supported, there is some janky-ness in some textures and effects like water, etc. It’s just something you have to accept, and for me it doesn’t take me out of the game. And you gotta know that some people can get VR sickness because you’re moving in 1 direction but your body is standing still…maybe having it on the “big screen” is better than trying to make it fully surround you. In fact, I’ve recently discovered that WoW in VorpX kinda ruined 3d movies for me. I went to see Pacific Rim 2 in 3D and it all seemed so…normal…of an experience (instead of exotic). I realized, after I sat in my favorite seat in the theater, that the screen I was seeing was just about the same size as the “screen” I’ve been playing WoW on for the last month, and both media being in 3D just made it seem normal.

So, yeah. I definitely love and recommend trying out WoW in VR.

It’s super easy to use, too. 1.) Run VorpX program, 2.) start WoW. For me, since I’m running a 2nd account, if I use the launcher it logs onto my main (non-VR) account, and if I run my wow64.exe shortcut it has my VR-account credentials already there for me.

    Hi guys,

As the title says I am wondering if VorpX only works on Private servers. I can get it to hook when I start the came through the Bnet launcher but it gets stuck on authenticating and my Oculus shows that it is loading but taking a while please check the application.

Hi, I’m thinking of getting Vorpx essentially to experience World of Warcraft Legion in my headset (with G3D I guess). I was wondering if anyone has any impressions with the new patch that they could share. Also, what is the actual G3D experience like and is that the best one for Wow ?
Cheers and thanks in advance for any comments !

Hi, I just started to use Vorpx with WoW, and it’s so great how easily it works (sorry for my English, i’m french).
The only thing that still blocks me is I don’t understand how to play with a gamepad.
I just have my PS4 controller and the ideal would be the WoW addon named Console Port, because it’s very easy to use and I’ve already set my gamepad with it (without Vorpx).
But Console Port doesn’t seem to react when Vorpx is on. Is it normal ?
And if Console Port is not compatible with Vorpx, is there an easy way to use (and configure) a PS4 controller with Vorpx and WoW ?

So what i read about 17.3 and world of warcraft vorpx supports geo3d something with dx11. Does it mean that older versions of wow (dx9)on private servers wont have that?

Btw any plans to create full support for pimax 4/8k in vorpx same way like for rift/vive?
