    The override needs to be on, I’ll provide a better default mapping with the next version.

    Re-mapping yourself isn’t too hard though, I usually do that by briefly checking what the most important things are mapped to in the game’s option menu and then assign the keys to the gamepad in the vorpX menu. Not much work.

    You can also use Vive/Touch controllers if available, they show the current keybindings on the rendered controller. This way there is no disconnect between the on-screen prompts of the game and the buttons on your controller.

    Ralf, I have asked before with no effect so I will try again.

    For people who cannot touch-type please make it easier to maintain the VR Hotkeys and the controller key bindings. Either via a virtual keyboard which is probably the easiest way or edit the profiles in the configurator maybe.

    Interesting. Have to check it out. Have been looking at it for a while, but the gameplay always seemed a bit slow.

    If you’re so inclined, do a search for the sprint mod. I think it gives you a few different speeds that can be toggled with the mouse wheel or number keys. I know there’s a reason for the pacing, but if you’ve already played through & just feel like going for a stroll to revisit some of the sights, there’s no reason to be hamstrung. It’s especially useful for doubling back after heading down a long path to a dead end.

    @aerowyn,
    The thing is, in cinema mode, you don’t need to turn your head. You use the mouse. So you don’t see the edge of the screen.

    full headtracking is one of the #1 keys to being completely immersed though

    I usually can’t comment on game specific issues without checking them first. Thanks for your patience. Works like it should here, with Steam VR (Vive) as well as Oculus.

    All I can imagine is that the game maybe does not have input focus, which would be a possible cause for keys not registering. To make sure a game has input focus, please either run it fullscreen or click into the window if the games runs windowed.

    All three keys are valid. Please make sure that both the name and the key field look EXACTLY like in the key e-mail. The attached example image shows how it should look. Use copy and paste to avoid typos.

    btw, one more note. I did change the keys. I know that you go into menu mode for some of the directvr stuff. Not sure if that is causing a problem.

    And I can’t see the pipboy or pick locks currently. I did change to 4:3 manually and it helps the look/feel, but it doesn’t help the directvr.

    Thanks, it showed up after a reinstall.

    Do you send keys again or are they still on hold?

    The problem at raffle square isn’t a crash per-se; the UI fails to display, and the keys fail to respond, you’re basically stuck staring at the stage with the music going. I got past that part by reloading the game w/o activating DirectVR, then once the first few enemies were taken care of I reenabled it.

    The problem with Bioshock Infinite isn’t cutscene related as much as it is “eventual crash” related. I had a savegame set right after the raffle square scene, where you first get the possession upgrade. The game systematically crashes around the first turret that sits right behind the possession upgrade machine. The time it runs for varies a bit but the crashes are similar. Sometimes I make it a bit past the turret, sometimes I barely walk 3 seconds after closing the possession upgrade video, and kaboom.

    Tested with Oculus & VIVE, same results on both.

    Skyrim does not allow mouse/keyboard and gamepad to be used together. If one is used, the other is disabled by the game.

    I put mapping the crouch/jump keys to gamepad buttons, which would be necessary your case, on the nice-to-have feature list, but I can’t really promise if or when that will actually be implemented.

    For now please use the Vive controllers as keyboard/mouse, which will work fine with the crouch/jump feature.

    The trackpad is a bit cumbersome to use as a mouse in menus, so it’d be nice if the Vive controller motion could be used to move the mouse around. It would be mapped to translation on vertical plane or rotation, I don’t know what would be best. There would be an action to activate it, that we would bind to one of the buttons.Something like this…
    It would also let us free up the trackpad currently used for mouse, for mapping more keys and stuff.

    Notes about playing 7 Days to Die with Vorpx:

    – Download my “7daystodie” Vorpx profile (or make one of your own)

    – You can’t play with EAC enabled. Play the non-EAC version of 7DTD

    – Run 7DTD at least once beforehand. Go to the display menu and turn off Depth and Blur and Vertical Sync

    – I also turn off my nVidia card’s global vertical sync as well, but up to you

    – Make sure you can support the 1600 x 1200 resolution. Create the custom resolution in the nvidia control panel (or AMD equivalent) if needed

    – Sorry, but you’ve got to change some registry keys.

    * Open REGEDIT
    * Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\The Fun Pimps\7 Days to Die
    * Change “OptionsFieldOfView_h1003984851” to decimal 110
    * Change “Screenmanager Resolution Height_h2627697771” to decimal 1200
    * Change “Screenmanager Resolution Width_h182942802” to decimal 1600

    (I used REGEDIT for the resolution because 7DTD menu doesn’t always present all resolution choices in the display options menu)

    – Before playing 7DTD, change your desktop resolution to 1600 x 1200 (it will look weird I’m sure). This tricks 7DTD to use the resolution properly

    – When you play the game, NEVER open the display options menu … it will reset the FOV

    – Play the game! Works so awesome, especially with Vive controllers!

    – It will – of course – look bit pixelated, but that’s due to the stock graphics, which are not HD. Fun Pimps will supposedly release HD textures in Alpha 16

    – Optional: I chose 1600 x 1200 resolution because it looks awesome and I can’t seem to get it any higher. Feel free to use a different resolution. Make sure you change the registry values to match. Just don’t open the display options menu ingame after you’ve changed the FOV or it will reset

    1. Good idea, I’m always hesitant to add more hotkeys to keep things as simple as possible, but this one definitely should be there. Will be added for the next update.

    2. That’s a temporary workaround done on purpose on Vive due to a bug in Steam VR that leads to overbright colors with Crystal Image. Valve already fixed that bug in the beta Steam VR, as soon as this fix makes its way into the normal Steam VR, the workaround will be removed. In the meantime you can still enable Crystal Image manually if you use the beta Steam VR, but it always gets reset when a game is started.
