The question is not if Quest 3 works, but if Quest headsets work in general. The answer is: of course – they’re the most popular & compatible devices out there.

I had Quest 2 in the past, and it worked perfectly with VorpX. Now i have a Quest 3 and while i haven’t used it much with VorpX yet (too much time spent with modding SkyrimVR! :), yesterday i played Anno Mutationem for a while (Outer Wilds profile, Z3D) and it works perfectly fine.

I’d say it works as good or bad as Link/AirLink is allowing it to. Some people report that the current Oculus software has broken USB-Link (haven’t tried it yet, my USB cable is damaged). Sometimes AirLink has hiccups and VorpX can’t do anything about it. That’s about everything you need to keep in mind.

Maybe VorpX can be used with SteamLink or Virtual Desktop, but you would be limited to wireless.

I got it working with a desktop shortcut thru VorpX!
Any way i can change the fov in Skyrim, it does not seem to have a menu for that.

Hello, I am using a HP Reverb G2 with Steam VR and Windows Mixed Reality Portal and try to get Skyrim Special Edition to work with VorpX. The hook seems to work the G2 is displaying a (distorted) picture which i cannot fix because the VorpX keyboard Shortcuts and delete key does not work. Any Suggestions are appreciated!

Did you use ENB to patch dragons dogma like they used to fix skyrim for CV1/vive? Vorpx usually bypasses post processing mods like that by taking over game rendering on a lower level.

Let’s see if we can get Syndicate 1993 to work, if it worked for 3dsen, we can make it work too no? All joking aside, why are games so crap nowadays, and 30/35 year old games are still fantastic? You’d think strategy, 4x, space exploration would have evolved. Nope. Mindless shooters and garbage pumped out non-stop. I would even settle for the same games remade with the Unreal engine

    Ultima Exodus – 1983
    2400 AD – 1988
    Battletech C64 – 1988
    Psychic War – 1989
    Phantasy Star 2 – 1989
    Buck Rogers – 1990
Star Flight Sega Genesis – 1991 (Original 1986)
    Star Control 2 – 1992
    Wing Commander: Privateer 1993
    Master Of Orion – 1993
    Xcom – 1994

These games have LOADS more interactivity in their (sandbox) game worlds than most new games, they never age out. They had great stories and fun play mechanics and were usually made by ONE guy in his mom’s basement. You look at the giant triple-A games today, they’re mostly garbage, terrible stories, and boring lore. WTF happened? I’m so sick of seeing a game that looks fantastic, and after a couple of hours, I’m bored to tears. Skyrim is a perfect example, bland characters, convoluted story, boring fetch quests, if it wasn’t for the game world this game would put you to sleep. It’s like people got dumber as computers got more advanced.

I knew when I went to the computer store in the 80’s, I would be coming back with a QUALITY title… now I buy a game on Steam and return it almost the same day. Half the games suck, the other half are just O K.

A perfect example is STARTOPIA (2001), this game is a masterpiece. So when developers tried to copy the formula and released the steaming pile of crap that is Space Base Startopia, 20 years later, I was floored. How can you take something incredible and turn it into garbage… all you had to do was do the exact same thing with new graphics?!?!? You didn’t even have to come up with new ideas. This should have been a no-brainer.

The fact that we’ve found aliens, and even THEIR current ship designs are bland and boring is very telling. If not for VorpX and VR, the future would suck!

The only way I can play with this setup in Dave’s & PD’s videos is turn head tracking off and switch to cinema mode, yes there is a square box obstructing the FOV but its super smooth in comparison and a bit like having vignette comfort mode but not as horrible coz there is still quite a lot you can see. where as Full VR its locked to your neck so feels very unnatural looking around like your head is a camera attached to a crane or something unless you like that feeling. Regarding a full VR mod one particular modder has a lot of work in his hands after a big update nuking one of his popular VR mods. I’m praying Ralph will do his magic like Skyrim years before Skyrim VR. Saying that Creation engine is pretty open, I managed to get Enderal working in full VR with hand tracking, maybe someone will be able to do something will FO4, I know its a completely different game but a lot of mods are cross compatible. .

You must download flawless widescreen . This program allow you that set any fov. Viewmodel , ship , world

Looks like it does exactly the same as the mod I mentioned does. But I suspect that the mod also resets it after a dialog etc. Anyway, why use extra software when there’s a mod?

I downloaded the game a week ago but haven’t opened it yet, waiting on full vr

I’m also eagerly waiting for an official mod, but you can try my profile, based on Alpha v2 – it’s pretty playable. Only disable the gamepad override, I think it works better that way for the ships. Also, if you are using joystick like I am, program the emulator for cross-controls: so joystick controls proper roll and pitch – they are on separate thumbstick on the gamepad, and pitch should be reversed (in-game menu option or inside emulator). And throttle and yaw should be programmed on proper axes too. That way ship combat is much better than when joystick emulates gamepad normally.

Official profile might have lower latency, and other nice-to-haves, but it’s quite well and playable as it is, full VR with gestures, so the beginning is slow and long anyway, and it’s really not bad. BTW not sure what people were complaining about – slow beginning, boring game and all. It’s basically exactly like Fallout/Skyrim in space with very nice graphics and cool hard sci-fi aesthetics. It plays exactly like that. All the clunkyness is the same as with the older Bethesda games. But nobody does a better job in this gameplay style, which is my favored. I only wish there would be native VR support, atmospheric flight, manual landings and docking and generally more believable space simulator dynamics. And of course less loading screens – game could check if there is enough RAM/VRAM available and preload the next zone in the background…

Yes, you are right. That’s on my to do list, i have to figure out to change the font of the UI. In Skyrim and Fallout was it possible to change that.

If you find it on google, and fix it for your own please share it with us here !

Bethesda games are entirely different for me to what normies experience.

I wont play the game for a while until there are enough mods, and hopefully vorpx will work fine with it until someone makes a real vr mod.

Though I agree flat vanilla bethesda games are boring, I can’t imagine playing vanilla skyrim or fallout 4, this will be no different for me.

But once properly modded it will be one of the best games ever made.

Keep an eye out for that files in the following folders

    starfield.ini

    starfieldprefs.ini

    starfieldcustom.ini

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\
    %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

Many of the Parameters will be the same as in Fallout and Skyrim, thus we can try to fix the game for our needs for a vorpx profile.

    Have a look here:

Perhaps the there is a launch Parameter option for DX11, that would be bombastic! Imagine we will have Starfield in G3D ? With a dx11 option we can try to fix the old profiles of Fallout and Skyrim, until Ralf releases a official vorpx profile. For dx12 only i will try profiles of Resident Evil Village first, followed by Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077, and RDR2.

    Hello everyone,

Please, I need your help, otherwise I’ll go insane here.

I bought Cyberpunk today because I really wanted to play it with the Vorpx Standalone Mod after seeing various videos on YouTube how well it works.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me at all.

When I run the game through Vorpx with Ralf’s profile, everything works fine, but I’d like to use the motion controls from the Standamone Mod.

I install the mod and start the game, but as soon as it loads, it gets crazy..

The starting room loads with no issues, then I press A on my Quest 2 controller and enter the game.

Now I see the “Redline” logo on the right eye and the first Cyberpunk loading screen on the left eye.

Then I find myself at some point in the main screen and even here everything is unplayably slow.

By chance I turned on the fps display and found that the game itself runs at 1 or 2 fps and the fps headset shows 80-90 fps?!

The motion controllers also react in the starting room of the mod, but no longer in the game itself.

To be on the safe side, I set all graphics settings in the game to low, with no effect.

As I said in Vorpx itself, everything works, with the local Profile…

I’m playing Skyrim VR with over 200 mods installed, running MSFS in VR, Borderlands VR, No Man’s Sky VR all without any problems.
Far Cry 4 in the highest settings via Vorpx no problem.
    But this mod, no chance.

Am I doing something wrong here?

    @Ralf,
I used some gesture mods with Skyrim VR (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23416) and found them very efficients as they also allow to combine gesture with controller buttons, for instance moving a controller left, right, up or down while triggering or pushing any A,B,X or Y button. Such combinations may easily increase the amount of gesture actions very simply without interfering with other actions.

    Hello,

Since december 2022, I can’t run Vorpx on my main PC properly both in HP Reverb G2 as Oculus Rift S (specs below).

Games like oblivion, fallout 3, fallout vegas skyrim… textures look blurred inside headset (I don’t know how to express it, it’s like a posterized image with much less quality) and all the games have much less performance even at minimum resolutions/quality. (on the monitor textures show properly, I don’t understand that)

When trying to run games in z normal or z adaptative, headset shows only colored lines on the image (on the monitor it shows perfectly again). What could be happenning?. I have made a clean vorpx reinstall without success.

    Thank you in advance

    SPECS:
    VORPX 21.3.3
    Core i7 12700k
    32GB DDR3600
    RTX3090
    Windows 11 22H2 updated
HP REVERB G2 and Oculus RIFT S

Windows has been being updated during this time, also my RTX 3090 (it has been tested with drivers 517.48 to 531.68)
