    Are you going to support Starfield in Z3D, Baldur’s Gate 3 in proper G3D and the CP77 Phantom Liberty DLC “in one big bang” vorpX 23.2.0 BETA, or are you going to release the things step by step ?

    the user profile is great BUT i cannot use the controller at all. would an official profile fix that or can i bury my hopes of starfield in vr?

    Thank you for looking into it. I appreciate all you can do. I’m just saying that it’s not an edge case at all for this game. It’s not my opinion, it’s mainstream. Here’s the quote from one mainstream media review: “Starfield fortunately makes it easy to seamlessly switch between the two devices … On PC, simply using your keyboard to move around will instantly change all prompts from controller to keyboard and vice versa. Feel free to use both if you really want to.” The game has a specific setting for it. There are many discussions online about using it that way.

    I won’t bug you with this issue anymore, my apologies for the repetitiveness, just wanted to be sure you understand the issue before dismissing it. That’s all, my lips are sealed…

    And thank you for the amazing product that allows VR fans to experience games in VR. Don’t let this issue make you think I’m not happy with VorpX. I’m truly amazed at how you manage to hack into games and make the VR it’s definitely worth the price of admission for me. No VR = I’m not playing it. For me it’s that simple. So thank you again for making it possible for me to enjoy Starfield.

    Still in the oven unfortunately.

    I still have to iron out some stuff in the current beta, and since the profile will only come for 23.1.0, it’ll have to wait until those things are ironed out.

    If you want to play now, please use one of the user profiles. They work fairly well. The one from romandesign even has motion controller gestures. The official profile will come with simpler (i.e. no) manual setup and a few advantages (dialog FOV, space FOV etc.), but otherwise the user profiles are working fine.

    Make sure to follow the setup instructions:

    I just used the fov settings in the profile description for the starfieldcustom ini file although I am not using a quest. I am using a pimax crystal / varjo aero and have the same issue using both hmds.

    Did you set up the camera field of view? That doesn’t happen automatically with the current user profile. ‘wobble when I initiate a head turn’ sounds a bit like distortion caused by a wrong FOV.

    As far as the menu is concerned: try remapping the menu to another key: config app > ingame key bindings.

    Three weeks after release, and still no official vorpx support of Starfield !

    Hmm, it looks like I may have solved it: in-game control takeover setting = on, VorpX mode = keyboard/mouse, game override = FULL, but (!!!) in the key mapping for the gamepad buttons override I erased all mappings. Now, when previously even with the gamepad override=off it flickered and opened the map. M was the gamepad RB override key, but even when it’s off – it engaged it! But now the icons flicker still, but map is not opening and I can use in-game override properly, so my joysticks work fine until I tak over with controllers on land.

    I haven’t tested it properly yet, but it seems to work. Maybe this way it will also work with override=off. It was still using those mappings despite the override being off, somehow.

    Starfield is capable of handling gmaepad and keyboard but not simultaneously – they override each other ontil the othe one is used, which is just what I want. Land = controllers, flight = gamepad (joysticks).

    It seems you are a little bit disappointed about Starfield.

    Let’s be honest now, are you still working on a official Starfield Profile, or not ? Because my profile works well, and your short time is better invested in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty Mod ?

    You need a profile that matches ! First try Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

    After that, step by step all other profiles for games from FROM Software.

    The Engine doesn’t really have a name. It’s a somewhat heavily modified version of the PhyreEngine which is a freeware engine provided by Sony with a lot of custom stuff added onto it. They also used Havok for physics in DeS, DS1 and DS2 however that doesn’t seem be the case for BB, DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Sadly there isn’t really much information about it.

    But many people say that’s a myth unfortunately !

    But you can even try resident evil village, grounded, starfield, cyberpunk77 and Red Dead Redemption. because it is dx12 game in general !

    I think the Game Settings sub forum is the best place for posts like that. Just create a new one when the profile is ready. Won’t take long anymore.

    BTW:

    Personally I really like the game, at least the bits I saw so far. Judging from the player count on Steam Starfield isn’t quite the success that everyone hoped it would be though. Way less max players than Fallout 4 when it came out 2015. Only about a third of what super hits like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring recently had on launch. Heck, even Hogwart’s Legacy fared a lot better earlier this year, who would have predicted that…

    Even considering a fair amount of extra players via Gamepass that doesn’t look too great for a huge Bethesda RPG in 2023. Still a title that deserves some extra attention, of course.

    On the upside: at least that way they won’t get funny ideas about a Starfield 2 before returning to Elder Scrolls. :)

    There will be no new alpha or beta for Starfield, the next step is Ralfs official profile. (Ralf was on Holiday)

    But in my opinion we need a new thread for the new profile, with a mod compatibility list which is up to date in one post, but i don’t know if Ralf this could make possible.

    In my opinion it is a “No Go”, that newer vorpx member have to read 20 pages threads to get started without bugs, specially with mods involved.

    What we need is a wiki for the board. Every Wiki written and updated by user without any warrantys.

    Excellent list in deed !

    I already have most of these installed.
    The inventory one being on top of the list although I would still change 100000 things on it.

    Dave, was that last message mentionning Ralf will be working on these other mods b4 starfield?

    Looking forward for the cdpr2077 update but I’ll most likely finish starfield first as I like to dip into the depth of the current game I play without any other interference. Just wondering. ;)

    In any case… Vorpx powa !!
