Absolutely, made two of my favorite games of all time Sekiro and Doom Eternal even better.

Sekiro, 1.04 version, has a First Person Mod. You are face to face swordfighting, the thrill is unreal and I go back for another playthru every like 8 months or so.

Doom Eternal doesnt have 6dof, but you can get it to give you the 3d effect. Install Reshade for Doom Eternal and include the “Side by Side 3d” option. Enable that. Launch Vorpx Desktop Viewer. In Vorpx Desktop Viewer, go to the setting for Side by Side 3d, enable it, and boom – youre in full 3d Doom Eternal.

They are certainly my favorite games of all time and Vorpx just makes them shine even more.

Ralf got us so hooked, LOL…

But seriously, great topic, and one i’m passionate about, so i just have to add my thoughts.

I’m a gamer who plays for the experience, which sometimes can be “life-changing”. Did i hear someone laugh? Bear with me for a moment (and excuse all the fighting with the English language :). I remember that in the 80s i watched “Star Wars: A New Hope” for the first time – i was a child then – and i can honestly say that it *did* change my life. It influenced my choice of profession, it contributed to my visual sensitivity and my style as an artist, and even influenced my way of thinking.

Games do similar things for me, albeit, as a grown-up, on a smaller scale. I still remember how i felt while exploring the dungeons of “Quake” in the 90s, the sense of wonder and complete detachment from real-life in “Unreal”… I dreamt multiple times, like being really there, of the assault on the Chernobyl plant in the 1st STALKER game. I still now and then think about the stories & characters of “Mass Effect” and “Dragon Age”, and i still often ponder the mankind-old questions about consciousness and self-awareness i was confronted with in SOMA. I could go on and on, but it’s getting excessive…

This is what kind of gamer i am. I don’t care about MP games or competition, combat and looting have always been a means to an end and IMO should be well balanced with story / characters / world building to remain fun. So you’d understand why the current native VR games don’t interest me. Thanks to vorpX i can enjoy “real” games with even more immersion, sense of scale, being inside the game-world etc. Oh and it’s the biggest upgrade to all those classic game experiences.

    >>>>>i often wonder how anyone can even barely “enjoy” a game on such a small 31-inch screen.<<<<<

I still play flat from time to time, when the friction of current VR tech starts to annoy me too much, but then again i have an 38″ curved ultrawide monitor with DIY ambilight (got the idea from vorpX ambient background in immersive screen!). But it’s still inferior to what vorpX offers and i always come back to strapping a brick to my face.

    >>>>>we are getting an overload with great games and i understand that if one ain´t “careful”, you´re getting too much of your beloved hobby and lose some joy and interest in it.<<<<<

This is a point that i’ve always been worried about since my teen years, so i’ve made a habit to always making sure that the things i “consume” (movies, games, books etc) are well chosen and only the best of the best. I’m never gonna play a samurai game because it’s the only samurai game in existence on PC – i’m gonna wait until some studio releases an excellent GOTY level samurai game and then i’m gonna play it. :)

Oh, and i refuse to play multiple games at the same time. I need to immerse myself fully. If a game doesn’t “catch” me after a couple of hours, i uninstall. And maybe re-try years later. But i do careful research and this doesn’t happen often.

Gotta get back to work, but i’m looking forward to my adventure in Undvik tonight. vorpX in Reverb G2 @2560×1440 Immersive Screen – i couldn’t imagine a better way to play “The Witcher 3”, even though i sometimes wish for a higher resolution and less screen door effect… It’s never enough, right? :)

Thanks Luka! In the video I use a tool called Universal Unreal Engine Unlocker for 120 fov and It Is marvelous! because we can change the Fov in all Unreal games. Is there any diference? And another question, could I use the mod for another games or only in Atomic Hearts?

Only big issue of UUU is that fov set there will be locked game wide, unable to be changed by the game. If possible use any other solution available and only choose this as last resort.

What it will do is set same fov in game menus, cutscenes, weapon zooms etc. You will be unable to have it change like its supposed to throughout the game like weapon zoom for example, one workaround is to use autohotkey to open console and input lower fov for those cases, but its not ideal.

There’s a couple profiles on the cloud already you can import.

The profile I started with was from Grounded (another Unreal Engine 4 dx12 game) and it worked right away. Z3D. Remember no G3D for dx12 games.

This game eats ram hard and seems to have problems with stutters or load crashes if you don’t have enough. For me it uses 22gb ram + 10gb vram of my 11gb 2080ti. So if you have less than that, you might struggle to even launch this game.

I use vorpX in openXR mode and run the game in a window 3200×1800 with dlss quality on.

Hogwarts Legacy is Unreal Engine 4 dx12.

Cloning the Grounded profile seems to work great for Z3D, and as far as I have tested, works with all the AA, dlss, FSR types. I’ve put some profile settings on the cloud you can try.

Raising the FOV all the way to +20 in the game seems enough for vorpX immersive screen mode (~90 degrees) which is likely the way most will prefer to play this game.

But if like me you want to try playing on a bigger screen, or in FullVR view – there are a couple of ways to increase the fov to 120 or more:

    A) the simplest way: open GameUserSettings.ini found in C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor…

about 15 lines down you can edit the fov extension. I’ve found a value of +48 to equal 120 degrees fov. So mine looks like this:

    CameraSettings=(FieldOfViewOffset=48.000000,

My only problem with this method is that for some reason the character model is pushed closer and to the side of the camera, so you won’t have as comfortable view of your character in front of you. It is nice for exploring though, and adds more of a first person view feeling to it.

    B) More effort, but my preferred method: Use the UUU (Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker) tool to manually set “fov 120” in the unlocked command console. You must inject this dll tool each time you launch the game, and need to renter the fov command after any time you fast travel.

This method will also force cutscenes to be in 120, which is sometimes good, but sometimes reveals parts of the scene developers did not intend you to see. I like that I do not need to switch between EdgePeek for every conversation.

Another good reason to for this method is that you have more control of your characters near/far position to the camera. Now you can adjust the in game fov slider to anywhere between -20 to +20 to your desired character distance while still maintaining the forced 120 fov.

I haven’t played super far into the game to know if any mechanics are broken by forcing higher fov, but I don’t think it will be a problem.

Hopefully the developers can get the performance issues sorted soon, I would like to be able to explore Hogwarts in 4K+ with higher settings :)

I don’t have this game so probably not the best to reply, but I have experienced this with other games in the past (no G3D when stated in profile).
Have you tried switching to Vorpx’s “Alternative hooking” via the Vorpx config app ?

If you have already tried that and it is no different, ..

    DRG uses UE4 (https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Deep_Rock_Galactic)
You could try using/copying from local DB or downloading different game profiles that are specifically for other “Unreal Engine 4” games. You will likely find a few others that offer G3D.
You will likely need to tweak a little to get it right, but it is usually a good starting point.

I tried this game tonight, and yes, there are indeed many wall and ground textures that do not work correctly in G3D. This sometimes happens in other Unreal 4 games that use this texture method, and can not be fixed with current vorpX as far as I know.

I’ve added a Z3D profile to the cloud now. For me this was the more comfortable experience.

I would be very interested to know what Hex values you changed to increase FOV, or if you can link an example.

I wish it had a free demo to test. I’ve heard it has a proper vr mod already, have you tried that?

I believe it’s an Unreal 4 game, in which case you could try many other vorpX games that also use the same engine. You would need to run the game in dx11 for this. It is getting harder to find matching G3D profiles for newer UE4 games these days, as the engine gets updated, but you might have luck trying some cloud profiles I’ve uploaded for recent games:

    Medieval Dynasty
    Chernobylite
    Ready or Not
    Ground Branch

vorpX profiles: Hellblade and Unity 5 base are also worth a shot.

Chances are that once you find a profile that provides a 3D effect, there may be a few shaders like shadows or decals that may not look correct in 3D. If bothersome, those are things you can disable using the Shader Authoring tool (press ctrl + End keys).
