I can’t aim with the stick to save my life, and aim assist has to be off to prevent horrible judder when moving while locked on to a target. Also I have the vertical sensitivity turned way down on my right stick so I don’t keep moving my view up and down when I’m trying to turn.

Good Idea about turning down the y sensitivity, I didn’t know you could do that. In Full VR there’s literally no reason to have to move the y axis when you should be looking around with your neck.

For me, anytime the camera isnt locked straight ahead its a one way trip to barf town. So I find myself very carefully trying to only move the view left and right.

I did find a solution potentially to the problem.

I hooked up a dual shock 5( 4 would also work)

using DS4Windows I set the DS5 to emulate a xbox controller. The default profile is mapped one to one with an xbox controller. I created a secondary profile called Vorpx and assigned it to the Cyberpunk2077.exe so that it loads automatically when the gane runs.
On the Vorox profile , I have unmapped the RY up and down axis so no more accidental vertical camera movement and I set the built in gyroscope set as a mouse which is only active when I push the Left trigger (L2)

This allows me to aim with the gyro when aimimg down the sights which is far more accurate and intuitive than using the stick. ( It kind of feels like you are actually aimimg the gun with motion controls)

An alternative to this set up if you dont like gyro aimimg is.

under special actions tab add an action to L2 to trigger a temporary profile change to default which will switch back to the Vorox profile when you release the trigger. If you recall the Vorpx profile I unmapped the RY axis but when aiming down the sight this restores the RY mapping of the default profile.

To get the view straight again after aiming you can do it before you let go of aim. Or even better I have the touchpad in the center set up as a mouse trackpad so I can quickly adjust it with a swipe. This is very useful when the game decides to tilt your view to look at something.

@Ralf I know you have a vorpx option to disabke the Y in normal vorpx but I tried it and it doesn’t work.

Woukd it not be possibke to add an option under input settings to have a similar functionality as I described above since you’re emulating tje xbox controller anyway? Just dont map the RY axis unless you push a button of your choosing?

Obviously it would probably be impossible to do this with the gamepad because you probably aren’t emulating a real controllers xinput.

Edit: If the game you try this with actually supports the Direct Input controller you are using you can use the Ds4windows option to hide the original controller from windows.

Im using a Pimax, and I found that setting the headset to 60hz and disabling the framerate cap was spectacular. All judderyness went away for both head turn and joystick movement. Even during more demanding scenes If i set it to 50% cap it wold be smoother. I think it might have to do with the game being designed to run at 60

And this was with Settings on low/medium with G3D. However ZNormal is much higher framerate and G3D doesnt seem to make all the that much of a difference.

    Sidenote @Ralf

Is it possible to do some kind of hybrid rendering where objects beyond 3 meters in front of you could use z-3D and closer would be G3D?

Funny in the age we live in some kind of AI assisted Z-Normal would probably be perfect. The ai could use its smarts to guesstimate more accuratly to varying angles of up close objects.

So are you saying that you don’t recommend this ? or only install this if you don’t like restarting every 60 min and dont mind low graphics.

pitch lock: I guess I’ll add the usual DirectVR tracking pitch option to the mod.

Thanks, yes this made me feel so bad when the pitch was off. I’d personally just lock it.

As for the framerate for smooth turning I’ll try that again. It seems I had the same misunderstanding in GTAV.

Theres simething off when trying to play with a mouse and keyboard. The following was observed using a Quest 2 on airlink via Ocukus runtime.

Moving the mouse vertically seems to kind of rotate and skew the view, leading to incredible discomfort.

Is there a way to lock the mouse so that moving it only moves mouseX or even better doesnt rotate the view incorrectly.

Also is there a setting for snap turn or to speed up the rate of rotation on the right stick?

Turning with the stick also seems off.. less smooth than you would want.

Other weird things include. At the beginning of the game you take a ride in soneones car. No matter how much I recenter (Alt-Shift my view ends up being misaligned with my vidy. Its as if rhe cars rotation is affecting it for some reason.

I dont remember having the above issues with any vorpx game before bioshock for example.

BTW: keys stay valid unless you reinstall Windows or change vital hardware, so often for the whole lifetime of a PC. Even when you uninstall completely, an older key can be re-used on the same PC/Windows install. So it makes always sense to keep key e-mails.

    Define Vital.

Changing your video card, memory, hdd … I would think not.
Changing your Mobo, cpu … probably.
Changing more than 2 of any of the above … I understand.

Re your GTA V issues: please reinstall vorpX. I uploaded a fix for the EdgePeek glitch when entering cars a few weeks ago, but didn’t raise the version number. Also please make sure that you see XX/90 FPS in the vorpX FPS counter as per instructions.

Great work, so by reinstall will I need to go through the whole activation email step again?

And what instructions? You mean the vorpx overlay?

My version number is on 21.3.1 FYI.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to just push a 21.3.2 ?

What do you mean it will also be standalone?

Timing is a bit “Sus”, but competition is good.

I suspect a Horizon Zero Dawn Standalone mod could be next. hmmm?

I wonder if you could really stick it to the guys at Roxkfish Games and do a stand alone mod for Everspace 2?

They said adding VR support was “too hard” and “not worth doing” and the “VR community is toxic”

Heres the link to their disappointing stance on VR support.

    This is great news.

Hopefully it will be better than the GTAV standalone mod. Compared to Luke Ross REAL VR mod was not that great.

Great job. And yet that luke ross mod with alternate eye rendering takes all the glory.

(Take it easy on the “hate post” Fubar, both of these guys are doing essential work and I dont think calling Luke Ross’ work garbage deserved)

Vorpx mod camera would stutter when turning head.
Camera view jumps all over the place when entering vehicles

I played for an hour and I felt sick until I went to bed.

That never happened to me on Luke Ross’ version. Not sure id there was a fix for the above issues I had.

I was using a Quest 2 via Airlink.

    Good video guide here

I wonder though, I seem to remember Ralf saying you dont need to do the manual setup in dolphin anymore.
