I play RDR2 in cinema mode with controller. Just tried it and had no issues. Seems smoother and the menu highlight box now lines up with applicable option.

Fellow WMR-er here (Reverb G1). Can’t wait to finish my work day and give this a whirl. While WMR headsets might be low proportion overall, I’d put money that the vorpx community has a higher concentration given, for vorpx, picture quality is way more important than foolproof tracking. In sum, for vorpx community, getting WMR weaned off of SteamVR is an awesome direction!

For what it’s worth, I tried out the VR mod, and I’m not a fan. The modder is trying too hard to turn it into a first person game with (eventually) motion controller support. There is a 3rd person option, but the camera is completely wrong and is guided by your facial movements. It is nice, but I really want to play the game as intended (3rd person with controller/K&M). This is why I like vorpx because it doesn’t try to overdo VR implementation which, inevitably, makes it too janky. Let me play the game exactly as intended but peering through a 3d window…

In sum, looking forward to official support to fix that dark shader problem!

    Hey fellas,

I’ve tried the vorpx profiles and while they are very good, they do seem very dark. Just a heads up that this just came out yesterday (link below). Disclaimer — I have not tried it.

Ok, thanks for update. Yeah, controller input wasn’t my issue at all, so I’m guessing I was just having a bad vorpx day (happens if something has crashed in background, etc.) when I was trying GTA V. I’ll have to try again, but that 100GB download is just a pain…

I can confirm I had GTA V issues too like 2-3 days ago where it didn’t seem to work. Unfortunately, I was playing around with a lot of vorpx stuff that day, and I can’t remember exactly what the issue was before giving up. If there’s any kind soul out there with GTA V already installed and can confirm it’s currently working or not would be greatly appreciated.

Completely unrelated…finally getting to Wolf Among Us in vorpx — AWESOME! Interestingly, Steam version hooks but couldn’t get GOG version to hook. No biggie, but thought I throw that info out there.

I hear you, but I’m enjoying my $1 to play a whole host of games for my first month (after which, I’ll probably cancel since it is a limited library and EA isn’t included on PC). Gears 5 was a blast (just did pancake mode), just finished Edith Finch (awesome in vorpx), and on to Darksiders Genesis (which appears should work and allegedly look great in vorpx). The Game Pass even at $10/mo after first month is a pretty amazing deal despite encouraging The Man to keep us down.

I got What Remains of Edith Finch to work with no problem. Seemed to work just like any Steam game. Is excellent in vorpx. But, yeah, to change the resolution of the game (nothing to do with vorpx), I had to get inside the stupid protected files to find the gamesettings.ini file which was a pain.

Nice! I finally picked up Valhalla just last week and am enjoying the hell out of it, even in pancake mode. Thank you!!!

Very interesting and enlightening discussion. Thanks, Ralf, for that insight.

For what it’s worth, I played through entire Doom 2016 with just desktop vorpx and had a blast. Yes, it wasn’t 3D, but having a dark movie screen in front of you with headphone spatial sound still was a treat. And because it wasn’t geometry, it was smooth as butter.

I know this response way delayed, but thanks for this. Was researching how to do Disneyland in VR, and sounds like your vorpx on Disneyland Adventures is the way to go. For rides, some reddit threads discuss a guy doing photogrammetry so that there can be VR experiences..:)

That’s good to know. Thanks. Always looking for the ones that knock the socks off so will definitely pick up when it goes on sale.

This is awesome. I believe RJK does a lot more than just maintaining this list, but also spends his time for the good of all of us by creating, testing, and optimizing profiles. We are a small community, but what you do RJK is real pioneering work. Thank you!

I never could get any profile to give 3D effect. Thus, just played the game in Vorpx with no 3D, but still really, really enjoyed it on Reverb. Given it has no hdr support anyway (one advantage pancake still has), I found playing it in an imax setting damn fun.
