jjenssonParticipantDid you try the alternate hooking method?
Aug 3, 2020 at 11:15pm in reply to: Had to hack ipdOffset in SteamVR to get correct 3D depth. Is there a better way? #196355
jjenssonParticipantIs this with G3D or Z3D? I still have not played the Dead Space series in VorpX. It’s on my list. :)
jjenssonParticipantIt’s just that I think that compatibility with more games and HMDs is what will bring customers.
I’m not sure this is true. Proper marketing and visibility and communication is half of the equation IMO.
Just to put it into perspective: I’m mainly a VorpX gamer now, i almost never play native VR games. VorpX has changed my gaming life like Photoshop has changed my life as an artist. I’m one of the biggest proponents of VorpX on other forums, LOL… But for example on Reddit VorpX has a very negative reputation – every time i posted something positive or recommended the program to someone, i got downvoted into oblivion.
In other forums i constantly get the question: “is VorpX still as crappy as it was?” Frankly, after a while i got tired of putting energy and time into educating people.
What VorpX needs ATM is more presence on YouTube. IMO.
jjenssonParticipantHow about the Oddworld games, i think they are 2.5D. Abe’s Oddyssey, Abe’s Exoddus etc.
jjenssonParticipantWow, very exciting!
I doubt that anyone at Sony will read this, but if they have implemented such draconian DRM that it prevents VorpX from working, i’ll never buy Death Stranding. Can’t enjoy flat games anymore… []-)
jjenssonParticipantThank you, user77, i’ve always preferred Z3D anyway – better performance and all lighting works as intended. There’s a rule of thumb with VorpX: the newer the game, the more problems it will have with lighting in G3D. I tend to play older games in G3D and current games in Z3D, provided the profiles work without issues.
jjenssonParticipantDoes WD1 have a working Z3D profile?
Jul 6, 2020 at 9:00pm in reply to: Divinity: Original Sin (the first one) or Pillars of Eternity? #195829
jjenssonParticipantI asked in the past about the Pillars Of Eternity franchise, but got no replies. Maybe this time? []-)
jjenssonParticipant+1.
For now i have stayed away from the update, until it’s proven free of issues.
jjenssonParticipantMore like “game of the generation”. Given how popular it will be (hint: crazy numbers! :), i doubt that Ralf will not take this as a motivation to polish up the DX12 part of VorpX. I think it will be resources well spent.
Now i just hope that this time HP will not blunder the release of their new hardware and the Reverb G2 will be free of quality issues! I’m pre-ordering next week. []-)
jjenssonParticipantI’m still watching the entire Blacklist TV-Show and have my gaming activity on pause, but as soon as i start gaming again, i’ll try it out.
Your efforts are appreciated! []-)
jjenssonParticipantI’d be interested as well!

jjenssonParticipantSBS = Side By Side mode (if you’ve ever watched some pr0n in your HMD – same method :)
Can VorpX handle SBS mode?
jjenssonParticipantWe’ll need every last frame per second for CyberPunk 2077 even in Z3D mode!
Clear your schedule starting Sept.16 Ralf! ;)Most definitely! I will pre-order a Reverb G2 as soon as it opens in Germany, especially in light of that magical date, Sep17. []-) I’m done with the pixellated Rift S. And that means that every percent plus in efficiency is appreciated.
Thumbs up, Ralf!
jjenssonParticipantI’ve always assumed that one has to have “shader knowledge” etc to make things work when “misusing” a profile for another game…
I will definitely try to get Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst and SOMA to run – games that are dear to my heart, and they use very popular engines. In the next weeks, i suppose. Wish me luck. :)
