ParticipantUnderstood Ralf, thanks.

ParticipantHas anyone gotten a G3D profile working for this one? I’ve tried a few Unity profiles but none of them turned out well, definitely some major issues with stereo shaders.
For people who are curious, try a recent Unity profile like Road 96 (change the process to Shadows of Doubt.exe). It does work in G3D (turn off DLSS), but has some major stereo shader/shadow issues and the performance is horrendous (and I have a 4090)

ParticipantThere’s a cloud profile for Manifold Garden and holy crap! Did not expect this to work so flawlessly.

ParticipantThe Everspace 2 devs say they have TrackIR support planned at some point in 2023, IMO not worth bothering with this game until that gets added.

Participant@Ralf I can see where you’re coming from, but I absolutely prefer using the 8kx’s 160° FOV mode to 140° FOV because having that peripheral vision really does heighten the sense of presence and make it feel less like you’re looking through a screen and more like virtual reality.
I think the bigger issue is that I’m guessing the 12k will still require Parallel Projections to work with VorpX which ruins performance.

ParticipantI have both and the G2 blows away the Q2 in image quality, its the pretty obvious choice for vorpx. I only use my Q2 for roomscale games like Blade & Sorcery.

ParticipantTried this out with my Reverb G2 and 5900x/3080, and the profile does work with the HD project despite complaining about dinput8.dll. But the performance is shockingly bad for me. It runs nowhere near a consistent 60fps no matter how low I turn down the resolution. Anyone having success with this at playable settings?

ParticipantHi Ralf, any reason why FluidSync isn’t available for this mod? From my experience, it feels much more pleasant than the current options you have for capping framerate. Cap framerate limit at 50% in this mod feels absolutely awful to me compared to vorpx’s FluidSync even though I suppose they should be doing roughly the same thing.

ParticipantI still get jitter whenever I look around with my G2 in SteamVR mode regardless of the actual framerate. That doesn’t happen when I use OpenXR mode in other vorpx games. So yeah, I definitely second the request to please fix OpenXR mode.

ParticipantUpgrading from a Rift-S to the G2 was well worth it for me, if you crank up the resolution high enough it looks nearly as sharp as a 1080p monitor. 60hz mode is very nice to have as well, it feels better than 90hz with Fluidsync on.

ParticipantI had the same experience @ Edgenier when trying to use RT with my 3080. RT seems to cause way more of a performance hit in vorpx than flatscreen for whatever reason even though all other settings run as expected, in my case I assume its VRAM-related but unlikely with a 3090.

ParticipantIMO, I don’t like Full VR for this game mostly because of dialogue/driving scenes that zoom in even further than Full VR already does. I’ve been playing in Immersive Screen instead which doesn’t have 1:1 head rotation, but I can let it fill my FOV and it doesn’t feel as unnatural during dialogue/driving. I can also turn the HUD scaling off which removes some minor visual bugs.

ParticipantDoes seem likely its VRAM-related. Another reason to upgrade to the 3080Ti, I suppose…

ParticipantI think you misunderstood, my game runs stable and smooth using fluidsync (maintaining 40 fps) in vorpx at 3200×1800 and ultra with RT off. These settings give me roughly 80fps in flatscreen.
On the other hand, turning RT reflections on tanks performance (dips well below 40fps and freezes) even if I try 1440p/medium, even though these same settings are getting me 80 fps on flatscreen. RT reflections only becomes playable at 1080p/low in vorpx.
Basically, RT seems to disproportionately affect performance in vorpx compared to flatscreen. Not a big deal, but it is pretty curious.
