I tried Bioshock Infinite. There is a noticeable improvement in sharpness, reflections, and detail with FSR set to medium @ 3200×2400. Setting FSR to High causes a game crash. I also set sharpening to 1.20 which is adequate, but going too high also causes a crash. If the menu and Hud clarity could be improved, the game would be perfect.
onetooParticipantI’ve had the satisfaction of playing flat games with a projector and large screen for close to 10 years. Still, VorpX adds extra features that make playing flat games using Immersive Screen Mode more compelling such as head tracking (though i used to strap a wiimote to my head to simulate that), proper G3D without messing with outdated drivers, and no 3D glasses (which darken games).
onetooParticipantThat sounds nice Ralf. I have to take a look at those features. I forgot that you added something similar.
onetooParticipantIt’s not pointless if you appreciate the screen adjustability of that weird tool as i pointed out. But i get your point.
onetooParticipantI tried the Generic 3D Display option with Virtual Desktop (PC version). The Virtual Desktop screen is so much more flexible. So far, i’ve finished INSIDE with that method. Too bad it’s not an officially supported mode.
onetooParticipantI tried GTA V. It looks good so far. I’m using the Quest 2 via AirLink. I have the Touch controllers mapped to the gamepad, but that’s not working. I tried the KB&M but it’s conflicting with the Manual Transmission mod. I haven’t tried my wheel yet. The driving is a bit weird too with the acceleration the left stick.
Jun 13, 2021 at 7:09pm in reply to: Has anyone tried Virtual Desktop’s Synchronous Spacewarp with Vorpx yet? #204625onetooParticipantTo be fair, there were other streamers before VD. ALVR came out prior and VD borrowed those ideas. VRidge was released for the Quest1 before both. There’s also AMD ReLive, and the HTC Focus wifi solutions. Oculus already announced the local ATW feature before VD released the beta.
I just got a TpLink AX1800 which has dual-core and it’s very stable. I also have an AC1200 which works great but doesn’t have the range. It’s weird that some of those routers are hit and miss, but I just saw someone recently putting a heatsink on the router chip to keep it stable.

I haven’t tried the new feature yet, but Oculus will be implementing something similar soon. Maybe with V30.
onetooParticipantI assume this new decoupled method will be used with other games? Or is this relegated to Rockstars engine? Amazing work.
onetooParticipantHey Ralf, The issue with the pop-ups is on my end. Something strange is happening with my Chrome plugins. I disabled the pop-up blocker pro plugin, and I’m no longer getting prompts or pop-ups. I can just keep it disabled for your site. For reference, the issue happened on the RE Village page and others that contained video.
onetooParticipantGreat layout. Couple of things to point out. It looks like the time and date is off according to my region even after I log in. 5/9/21:1:54pm is marked as the latest contribution, but it’s currently around 8am EST where I am. Also, when I click on a post containing a video, occasionally the video would open up in a separate window without me prompting it.
Edit: This comment is timestamped for 2:03pm though it should be 8:03am est.
onetooParticipantI’ve read that Airlink doesn’t work with Shadow PC so people are sticking to Virtual Desktop for that. Oculus blocked streaming services. There’s a workaround using a Public IP. Just google “Use Airlink on Shadow OculusQuest – Reddit” He’s testing it with VorpX in the video (personal experience, it works better than VD), and there’s no reason that it shouldn’t with Helix work than Helix’s narrow requirements.
onetooParticipantYeah, it connected with no issue on my end, but alas, doesn’t matter anymore lol. Air Link really is amazing. I’m currently playing Metro Exodus and the game is really stable and has proper colors vs VD.
onetooParticipantVorpX works with Virtual Desktop. You have to set VorpX to SteamVR since VD doesn’t use the Oculus Runtime. Air Link will be better and should work just fine since it’s basically wireless Link and a native solution built directly into the main Oculus software. I read that it also has ASW, so the performance should be much better.
onetooParticipantThere are mods to fix the VR in Subnautica (including cyclops) and add VR to SubZero.
