RJK_ParticipantI do the same, may be once a week, and it really helps. Besides that i use a bellows to remove occacional dust. ( the dochebag from your wife will probably do the same job
)
RJK_ParticipantHave you recently noticed Googles VorpX ads ? Very impressing !
RJK_ParticipantWith the vice pro its really hard to come to proper conclusion. After testing around for some hours this morning it seems the “advanced supersampling filter – enabled” makes a better image while -application resolution- is set to 100%. But mostly important each time you put on the pro the image looks different in regard of sharpness. That may sound funny but because of the high resolution of the Headset together with the bad lenses you have to exactly meet the sweetspot for a sharp image. Ok, may i am overdoing it but i personally measure the sharpness on TEXT areas.
As far i understand now application resolution is nothing else than the supersampling setting in older steamvr versions. Quite confusing, they should have just left it the way is was before.
Reading this still made me a bit suspicious on how the pro would be treated on a GTX970 for eample.
RJK_ParticipantI am not shure and i dont want to raise any trouble but somehow my steamVR + vorpX update seems to make image quality slighty worse to before. When turning up that slider all the way to 500% the image seems to become noticably clearer to me. Note: I have the Vive Pro, may be that has something to do with it.
I wonder how everyone elses impression is in regard of sharpnes after steam has introduced the motion smoothnes stuff (not available on Win7 which i am using).
RJK_ParticipantIve updated the instuctions and the DGVoodoo2 cloud profile so it can still be used, just in case.
RJK_ParticipantI am testing some older profiles right now. Is the warcraft III profile openGL now ? I am asking because i wanted to import my Warcraft3 DGVOOdoo2 profile. VorpX didnt let me so. It says the War3.exe is used, but the import worked a while ago. Did you rename the profiles exe ?
RJK_ParticipantNow after testing some stuff i got really exited about the “alternate hooking method” and the device reset fixes. This will probably fix a bunch of games that were crashing with vorpX. I couldnt wait to test that, for example Overlord 1 runs like a charm with 19.1 – Thanks !
RJK_ParticipantHello everybody, please look into the folder where vorpx.ini is located. Check if there is a file called vorpxcontrol.ini.old. Temporarily rename or delete that file and report back if it helps. Thanks
RJK_ParticipantI am saying thanks too, but at the moment i cant update steamvr so ill probably get exited a bit later sometime.
That hooking delay sounds promising, may save a bunch of games.
Cant wait to see if that device reset fix will help with overlord for example , theyre great games.BTW: Does anyone know of a way to download steamvr without beeing logged into “steam” ?
RJK_Participant@Ralf , thanks for the info, but does that mean that i have to redo all my profiles to prevent bad reputation ?
BTW: I wasnt able to update steamvr yet because the gods dont accept my password. So i will probably stick to 18.3 for some time.
RJK_ParticipantShort question to the Frostbyte experts: I have several games marked with G3D , are these Z3D or G3D ?
RJK_ParticipantFor now, in theory you could tilt you room instead of the image / either mount table and chair on a slanting platform or slightly lift up the front of your chair, then resetting headtracking should result in a different angle in relation to the normal seating position. (if a understand the gyro mechanisms properly). BTW: The Immersive Screen is already bent down a little.
RJK_ParticipantEnable expert settings and use the shader editing tool, step through the shaders in “Hide” mode until the crosshair disappears. Make this shader active and try the different settings below, probably “HUD”, “No Transform” or “No Stereo” should fix that. If you are unlucky, the setting effects other objects too so you have to go through the other settings as well until you find one about suitable for all of them. If you play the game in cinema mode you can also try “Focal Offset” on the 3D settings page, slightly changing this may help already.
RJK_ParticipantThanks, i think ill try something like a remote mouseclick through HWnd or so, that would be probably the easiest way.
