Is this bug only with DirectVR or geometric 3D? If so it would be easy to just turn off for these short portions of the game.

Cool, thanks for the thoughtful responses guys. I do have an SSD both for my windows installation and one for gaming. 16gb Corsair vengeance ram and a 4790k, so there should be no bottleneck. I might install the game again just to check if I can’t get a stable fps with my current gpu, but running Skyrim at those resolutions does sound tempting.

Karlor: I’ve never been able to get ENBinjector or even ENBoost to work with Vorpx.

Just to expand. I made a guide for New Vegas a few months back. It was before DirectVR, but I honestly always try to setup my games to run without, since it is kinda unstable in many games.
My guide does have a lot of mod suggestions and fixes with or withou DirectVR:

New Vegas in Vorpx looks and plays gloriously. Here is how to set it up.

I’d consider it a vorpx/4k upgrade and no real upgrade to native vr, which is running fine on my system. I have used Vorpx alot and even made a few guides on how to setup games, so I’m no stranger to tweaking the app. It just doesn’t run and look sharp enough that I want to play it with my 980. What resolution do you run skyrim at? It gets pretty choppy at the suggested resolution, which is lower than the headsetss native res and a bit too blurry for me. I also want to mod the hell out of Skyrim and I prefer controller/normal locomotion to teleporting, so no real point in waiting for that ;)

I also want to know what Ralf has to say about this. It could possibly be better to run an sli setup than single powerful card.

I din’t run it in DirectVR, because it crashed and the scan didn’t work in some areas, which made it pretty unreliable. I ended up using it without DirectVR after a few levels. Make a scan in the first area and turn DirectVR off and on, then mess with the settings of normal mode and compare with DirectVR mode until it is as close as you can get it. I don’t have my settings anymore, but it wasn’t hard to get it almost right.

Weird, there should be no shadows except for the static, which aren’t a problem. Are you sure you saved? Or maybe you changed the shadows from the menu which might have reset something. Do you see shadows cast by characters?

Search the “DishonoredEngine.ini” in “\Documents\My Games\Dishonored\DishonoredGame\Config” for “DynamicShadows” and delete TRUE and type in FALSE instead. Then hit save and exit the document. I don’t have the game installed at the moments, so that’s the best I can do. Here is the guide I used for reference: https://segmentnext.com/2012/10/10/dishonored-pc-tweaks-guide-graphics-and-performance/

I don’t think any Vorpx game support independent head an weapon movement. Just try and get used to it. I don’t really think about it. My thumb just correct automatically when I turn my head. I stealthed most of the game, so it wasn’t a big issue, since I didn’t use weapons that much.
I played in G3D VR with full headtracking. I didn’t use DirectVr since it was too unstable and it couldn’t always complete the scan, but I used it for a reference when setting up manual mode, so I got really close. I also turned off the dynamic shadows through the .ini files and I set the image zoom to 0.70 and fov to 90, which helped with the aliasing and image quality and weirdly also made the player height seem more natural.

Some dude is releasing an Alien Isolation mod very soon. He said so a few days ago, so people could buy it on sale if interested. That will probably be much better than Vorpx, so I suggest waiting until that releases.

Thanks, I guess I can always ask for a refund, if I don’t get access to the originals.

There are two kind of reactions to Vorpx. Either you aren’t ready to do what it takes to get it to work and you hate it, or you get it working and play dozens of games in VR and have a blast. No matter how small the price is it’s not worth even a dollar if you can’t get it to work. If you can get it to work you get dozens of games in VR and Vorpx is the best money you’ll ever spend on a VR app.
I don’t think the price is too high, but I think Ralf should introduce a refund system or a demo version, and a big disclaimer, that it is not a perfect VR app and that you can’t expect games to work like the native apps on Steam or Home. Though a handful of games work pretty damn well if you set it up right. Like really well!

Ps. Jeg er fra Danmark og mener ikke at det kostede ekstra, da der kun bliver trukket told af fysiske varer.

No, that is way beyond the possibilities of Vorpx. You’d need total rework of the game mechanics for that.
