RalfKeymasterThat can be done in the config app.
The PipBoy can’t be scaled unfortunately, the HUD can (and is), but the PipBoy is part of the normal game world.
RalfKeymasterWith your GPU a smooth frame rate shouldn’t be too big a deal. You need half the headset refresh rate ideally. If you happen to have an Index, try to set it to 90 instead of 120. If in doubt, try to disable ray tracing which will be the biggest FPS boost you can achieve with a single option (I know, I know, you probably want everything on ultra :)).
There is an option to adjust the gamepad y-axis sensitivity on the input page of the vorpX menu. It’s already reduced, but you can go quite a bit lower. I just wouldn’t reduce it to 0 entirely in case you need some y-axis movement occasionally.
With some luck DirectVR memory scanner head tracking will be possible, which would be the better option in regard to locking the y-axis. Can’t promise that yet though, will be checked next week.
RalfKeymasterPer default the screen is about 2m high and about 2m away from you, which is a fairly good distance/size to make objects on screen look realistically scaled. You can move it closer and farther away as well as make it smaller.
RalfKeymasterThe game FOV can’t be set high enough to match the FOV of your headset, which is necessary in FullVR mode, otherwise the image would become warped/zoomed. That is accounted for by the top/bottom bars. The next vorpX version will *likely* come with a FOV hack. I have to check first whether that has any side effects though, so it’s not entirely certain yet.
RalfKeymasterJudging from your description I’m quite certain that I will have to fix the profile. I’m indeed fairly occupied with Cyberpunk currently, but haven’t forgotten this issue. I’ll look into it when I get the chance. For the time being please switch to Z3D.
RalfKeymasterNot right now, sorry. Sunday for me too. :) I’m a bit occupied with other things currently, but will check whether anything has changed recently that I would consider ‘literally falling apart’ and if so the profile will be updated before the next release.
If you changed any vorpX settings (especially if you raised the 3D-Strength value or changed something else 3D related), please reset the profile to its defaults in the config app. All settings are dialed in right per default to provide correctly scaled, realistic 3D.
RalfKeymasterSent. Let me know if the mail didn’t reach you.
BTW:
If anyone else encounters an issue with the Windows 10 DotNet install dialog not working, you can also do it manually from the control panel:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35-windows-10
And if that also fails, there is an offline installer that you can get from Microsoft:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net35-sp1
RalfKeymaster@ simondoc: yes, false positive. Unfortunately that can happen after an update. Luckily MS, in contrast to some other antivirus vendors, in the past always has been fairly swift resolving the issue, and apparently also this time. I just scanned the whole vorpX program folder with the latest Defender definitions (1.329.242.0 from earlier today) without getting any AV warning, so you should be good after a manual update search in the Windows settings app, which also updates Defender definitions normally.
@ Negatrev: did you try just to launch it from the Windows desktop without launching the Ocuous desktop viewer first? I checked Quest/Link yesterday, but didn’t have to follow the procedure you posted. vorpX hooked when I just launched the game normally (after enabling Link in Quest).
RalfKeymasterCan’t really suggest anything else than I did already, sorry. You can create a trouble shoot data archive in the config app after a crash if you want and send that to support at vorpx com. No promises, but I’ll take a look at it.
RalfKeymasterThe G3D FOV Enhancement is great for older games, but for newer games with more complex renderers it’s largely useless unfortunately since it breaks too many things too easily (hence the glitch warning that pops up below the slider when you change it). In newer games the options that really work FOV wise are raising the actual game FOV one way or the other or, if that is not possible, dealing with lower FOV like the Cyberpunk profile currently does.
RalfKeymasterUsual disclaimer whenever this comes up:
Changing the game FOV to anything else than 100.0 is only recommended for those who feel comfortable tweaking vorpX settings afterwards to make game and headset FOV match again.
Any game FOV different from 100.0 will require manual vorpX ImageZoom adjustment in FullVR mode to make game and headset FOV match again, otherwise the image will become warped/zoomed.
The next vorpX version will *likely* come with a FOV hack that just works. I have to check first whether that has any side effects though, so it’s not entirely certain yet.
RalfKeymaster@ Ogrescar: Thanks for the info! I’ll add that to the dual GPU paragraph of the trouble shooting guide.
@ Pearce32: The game FOV can’t be set high enough to match the FOV of your headset, which is necessary in FullVR mode, otherwise the image would become warped/zoomed. That is accounted for by the top/bottom bars. The next vorpX version will *likely* come with a FOV hack. I have to check first whether that has any side effects though, so it’s not entirely certain yet.
@ johndoe: Did you check for potentially interfering programs that also hook into games? That can cause all sorts of strange problems. The trouble shooting guide in the ‘Technical Support’ forum has more details on the matter.
@ OlDirty, Destroy: Sorry for that guys, extra stupid bug. Only happens when you use a gamepad, clicking OK&SAVE with the mouse or confirming it with ENTER should work fine. Will be fixed soon.
RalfKeymasterThe HUD can only be scaled entirely, there is no way for vorpX to to that without scaling the text unfortunately. Some games have an option to scale the text, but I don’t think that is the case here.
I have that annoying ALT glitch on my radar already. Still thanks for the heads-up. Didn’t have a chance to check it yet, but it will be looked into before the next hotfix release next week. For the time being it should go away when you press ALT again. Alternatively playing with a gamepad also helps, of course.
RalfKeymaster@ Ecnarps : vorpX should ask whether you want to install a profile database update when you launch it. That will include the updated profile. If that fails for some reason, you can grab the latest profile manually from the cloud profiles page in the config app, it’s named Cyberpunk 2077 [vorpX]. That is not necessary though if you get the database pop-up on start.
RalfKeymasterWhat do you consider “virtual input”? Not sure what that means. The help overlay flicker comes from vorpX emulating a mouse for head tracking. When you play with a gamepad, the game gets slightly confused by that and constantly switches between the gamepad and the mouse/kb help overlay. That doesn’t affect the actual input though, which works as intended.
