RalfKeymasterI’m not really sure what to recommend. One thing you could try is to remove the font from your Windows/Fonts folder. Without it being installed a standard font (probably Arial) will be used.
RalfKeymasterPlease check this post regarding Pimax: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/i-really-need-some-help-with-vorpx-pimax-4k/#post-168983
RalfKeymasterIn general vorpX works with every headset that supports either the Oculus runtime or Steam VR. Pimax 4K and Windows MR are known to work fine and are used by quite a few users.
Can’t say much about the Pimax 8k yet. 200 degrees are technically impossible with a single “camera” as used in current “flat game” rendering though. The theoretical maximum is 180, the more reasonable max. FOV you should assume with vorpX is 140-150, provided games allow FOVs that high.
The maximum resolution is only limited by your PCs performance, that has always been the case with vorpX.
RalfKeymasterFinally checked this today. A Geometry 3D profile would be possible, but unfortunately there is no way to adjust the FOV. Still undecided whether it will be included or not since the game’s default FOV is fairly low. If it is added, then probably as an immersive screen mode profile.
RalfKeymasterIt should still work for the singleplayer campaign. For multiplayer it will work again in the next vorpX version 18.2
RalfKeymasterNot much that can be done in this regard, I fear. Once the next version is out, I will invest some time to evaluate whether there maybe is some semi-official way to hook Microsoft Store games, but don’t hold your breath for it.
RalfKeymasterThread closed. At this point there is nothing useful to add to this topic.
RalfKeymasterFor obvious legal reasons I can’t create profiles that require a hacked game version even if that might be technically possible, sorry.
Try to contact EAC using the above options. I didn’t get a response so far, but they whitelisted several streaming/recording apps, so there may be a chance that they listen if more people contact them about vorpX.
RalfKeymasterThe game is protected against hooking into it by Easy Anti Cheat, not much that vorpX can do about that.
Your best bet in regard to an official solution is trying to convince Ubisoft and/or EAC to whitelist vorpX.
You can contact EAC using this webform:

RalfKeymasterGame specific profiles are vital for vorpX to work. That has nothing to do with vorpX “not being perfect”. Every 3D driver requires profiles for games, and that is even more true for the advanced features like Direct VR. You can’t just open an unsupported game and expect it to work like one that has a full profile with all possible features enabled, which can take many hours to make for a single game.
If you want to create a custom profile for an unsupported game, you should find out which 3d-engine the game uses and then check whether vorpX already supports another game based on the same engine. Using that as a base grants the best chance of success. After making a copy of an existing profile, assign the main .exe of the game you want to try to the copied profile.
There never is a guarantee though that an user profile works, every game is different. Also keep in mind that user profiles created this way won’t have all features that full blown official profiles can offer in the best case.
WoW: make sure to run the official WoW from the Blizzard launcher. That way you will get working Geometry 3D.
RalfKeymasterThe thread title refers to an FC5 update, not a vorpX update.
Unless Easy Anti Cheat gets removed from the game there probably won’t be a way to hook into it without resorting to dubious “trainers”, which – for hopefully understandable reasons – cannot be further discussed here.
RalfKeymasterFor the best experience games need individual profiles. Unsupported games can (but don’t have to) work with limited functionality and you might even be able to create a custom 3D profile or download one that another user created.
However: my advice would be to check whether you find a few games on the supported games list that you would like to play. Buying vorpX purely for a single unsupported game is probably not the best idea.
RalfKeymasterThe Source engine issue might be related to some recent SteamVR update. Some still work fine (e.g. Stanley Parable, Left 4 Dead 2), others don’t (e.g. HL2, Black Mesa Source). I can’t say anything more specific yet, but the issue will be looked into before the next update. The SteamVR/Source issue has been addressed with a profile update. Importing the updated “Half-Life 2 / Portal [vorpX]” profile from the cloud should fix it. Same for Black Mesa.
@ Sauermon: BTW: Gerry’s Mod currently is not supported and 2D only since it uses an older Source engine build that the current vorpX version can’t handle. Geometry 3D for Gerry’s Mod will be available in vorpX 18.2.0.
RalfKeymasterLichdom is not supported, so it’s perfectly normal that you don’t get 3D. Judging from what I found on the internet it seems to be based on CryEngine 3, so making a custom profile based on the Crysis 3 or the Kingdom Come Delieverance profile is worth a shot. There is no guarantee though that this will work.
If it works, you will get basic stereo 3D. FOV adjustment for FullVR mode would have to be done manually though.
Same for Vermintide 2. That one will be looked into before the next update though, I just can’t promise anything yet.
Some general info: vorpX doesn’t automatically provide stereo 3D for every game you throw at it. For stereo 3D and Direct VR functionality game specific profiles are required. Normally you should see a message in the headset whenever you open an unsupported game to avoid any potential confusion in this regard.
To check beforehand whether there is a profile for a game you want to try you can use the “Local Profiles” list in the config app or the supported games list.
Team Fortress 2 (and other Source engine games): there might be an issue with a recent SteamVR version causing this. I can’t say anything more specific yet, but the issue will be looked into before the next update.
RalfKeymaster@ morbidexpression: takes a little bit longer than originally estimated, probably around May 20th or a few days later.
@ Phantomroro: Final Fantasy XV will have G3D, it’s one of those cases though where I would recommend Z3D despite G3D being available – mostly for performance reasons and some shadow glitches. Default will be Z3D, but you can switch to G3D if you have a (very) fast machine.
