RalfKeymasterThis is a BitDefender problem. Please contact BitDefender about this issue and inform them that it’s a false positive. They will then check the issue.
Most AV programs try to guess whether a program may be malicious, and apparently BitDefender guesses wrong in case of vorpX. Maybe because it “injects” other programs to work. Most AV vendors offer a web form or mail address to inform them about false positives.
RalfKeymasterThe game only has G3D in DX9 mode. It’s incredibly slow though, so you shouldn’t even try that unless you have an iron stomach.
RalfKeymaster@ peteostro : A Z3D profile will be available with the next update, G3D still unclear yet. The necessary DX11.1 stuff is largely implemeted now, but as suspected finding the right values to change for creating the S3D camera offsets is more complex due to the way the FrostBite engine handles them. So, no promises in this regard.
@ Crispybits : For some reason overriding the controller doesn’t seem to fully work in this game (might use a newer API than vorpX uses for controller handling). Hasn’t been investigated yet, but is on the list.
RalfKeymasterPlease be a little bit patient. You won’t always get an answer immediately.
RalfKeymasterIt’s on the menu bar on the top of the page (rightmost button).
RalfKeymasterI would say there probably is an issue with receiving/sending mails from/to your mail address in that case. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please double check your spam folder.
If you can’t find mails from us there, please try the contact form linked above and provide us with an alternative mail address. Thanks.
RalfKeymasterWill be looked into, but I can’t say anything in regard to whether it will be possible to use VR SLI in vorpX. I’m not too confident TBH, but will have to investigate before I can say anything for sure.
RalfKeymasterZ-Buffer 3D does not create fully natural Stereo 3D by design, instead it’s a lot faster. It’s usually dialed in to provide a pleasent (even stronger than with Geometry 3D) 3D-effect in the distance, but has ‘weaker’ 3D for nearby objects. Geometry 3D for Fallout 4 will be available with the next vorpX update.
Just be aware that both methods each have one advantage and one drawback. While G3D provides the more natural 3D, Z3D is roughly twice as fast. High framerates are as important in VR as Stereo 3D.
In case of Fallout 4 that means that G3D will not allow you to achieve a VR compatible frame rate in many situations unless you own an extremely fast PC (fastest Core i7, GTX980Ti). You’ll be able to decide yourself soon.
RalfKeymasterThat sounds quite odd. vorpX 0.64 doesn’t use the Oculus runtime. For testing purposes please try to completely uninstall vorpX and the runtime, reboot, and then reinstall vorpX 0.64 only without any runtime and see whether that works.
RalfKeymasterSpace Engineers seems to have some probelems since a patch some time ago. Someone just yesterday reported success with disabling the Steam overlay, so that may be worth a try. Steam itself is not an issue, of course.
Please do not run vorpX as admin unless you also run games as admin. Normally that should not be required and can cause more harm than good.
If more games fail in a similar manner, there almost certainly is something on your machine conflicting with vorpX. Not all such case are obvious. Please double check for any chat/messanger program for example. Many of them hook into games.
RalfKeymasterThis is not a vorpX problem. It’s a problem of Webroot falsely classifying vorpX as malicious. Quite odd that it doesn’t even allow you to exclude something from scanning if you wish to do so.
Most other av vendors are quite aware that their programs can lead to false detections and thus allow their users to exclude programs/folders from scanning.
RalfKeymasterDid you read the FAQ sticky?
Please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterMaybe you could change to another, less invasive, av solution?
RalfKeymasterPlease follow the hint in the message and send a mail to support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterThis is a false positive. Please exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning in your av program’s options.
You should also inform your av vendor about this false positive so that they can resolve the issue.
