RalfKeymasterThere currently is a bug that makes mapping the keys impossible. Appears they get mapped but reset to the old value immediately after that… The same bug applies to the gamepad mapping.
This will get fixed in the next update.
RalfKeymaster@ tonka : current mousewheel handling does indeed not work for a few games. Might not be easily solvable, but will be looked into.
You can also set the image zoom in the menu, but that’s a bit cumbersome of course in cases where you want to zoom in and out more often.
RalfKeymasterUpdates are distributed automatically.
RalfKeymasterExit vorpControl (right click tray icon, then “Exit”), then try the shortcut again. Again: no guarantees that this will work, since the game is not supported.
RalfKeymasterHi korun,
While that is true in general, there are no guarantees. Some games might need special settings to hook. You could try to create a vorpX shortcut for the games main .EXE (“Create Desktop Shortcut” from vorpX’s tray right click menu), maybe that works. But no guarantees with this too. Also be aware that there will be no Stereo3D for unsupported games.
RalfKeymasterThe safest resolution is the native Rift resolution (1280×800).
Besides that, you can try every other resolution you want, and see how that works out. The ideal resolution for vorpX would be a resolution with 1:1 aspect ratio. If you want to experiment with custom resolutions and GPU scaling, you can try to get that working somehow.
If you destroy your Rift or graphics card while doing so, you’re on your own though.
RalfKeymasterHi Sporphis,
Downsamplig improves the visual quality (but also makes the image slightly blurrier).
You might also want to try 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions which make things easier for vorpX’s Aspect Ratio Correction. There is a possibility though that those aren’t shown correctly on your Rift. If the image looks odd with 4:3/5:4 resolutions, stick to 16:10.
RalfKeymasterHi Jimbob,
if something like that happens, especially now that things have settled down here, something must have gone wrong. Please resend your e-mail with the request key that is shown on first startup of vorpX Control. You will then receive your activation key as soon as possible. Shouldn’t take anything near 48hrs. at the moment.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
RalfKeymasterIf you have trouble to get vorpX to hook in Battlefield 3, this might help (singleplayer campaign only):
1. Create a vorpX desktop shortcut to bf3.exe (“Create Desktop Shortcut”) from the vorpX tray right click menu. These shortcuts usually hook more reliably than the automatic detection, but due to EAs Battlelog this does not work in BF3 normally.
2. In Origin, click the “Origin” menu and go offline. This will disable all online modes of BF3, but also will allow BF3 to start without Battlelog.
3. Use the vorpX shortcut created in step 1 to start BF3, this will take you straigt to the single player campaign. You may see a black screen for a while, until BF3 is loaded.
If you experience double injection (unlikely but possible), pause the vorpX Watcher when using shortcuts.
RalfKeymasterHi Trust,
If you don’t mind, please post further support questions in the general forum. This one was meant for tips and tricks and such. Thanks.
To answer your question:
The guns are indeed 2D, that’s nothing that vorpX can do anything about, unfortunately.
The ‘Ding’-issue happens here too in DX9, DX11 works, but has only Z-Buffer 3D yet. Must have been introduced lately. Funny bug, I’ll call it the “Hector Salamanca Bug”. Not sure what might cause it, but it will be investigated.
RalfKeymasterHi Abdulal,
please no support requests here, use the General section of the forum instead. Thank you.
To answer your question:
Battlefield 3 is one of those games that might take several times to hook up. For me the latest vorpX version works almost every time now when starting the campaign through battlelog, but obviously that’s not the case for you. Just try a few times, eventually it should work.
You might also want to exclude bf3.exe, vorpControl.exe and vorpX.dll from your virus scanner. The way some scanners monitor memory might interfere with vorpX.
Also: please take a look at the trouble shooting sticky in the general section of the forum, maybe there is something useful.
RalfKeymasterYou did start “vorp Control”, did you? ;) I guess so since you created shortcuts.
What exactly does not work? If vorpX does not even hook up for any game you tried, then there seems to be something fundametally flawed.
First thing you should try is un-install and then re-install vorpX, just in case. Re-boot windows before doing this, to be extra sure that everything gets uninstalled. vorpX does some sanity checks on startup, but maybe your installation is corrupted in a way that does not get detected.
If that doesn’t help, take a look at the trouble shoot sticky, in case you haven’t done so before. Maybe there is some conflict between vorpX and your virus scanner. If absolutely nothing works that sounds like a probable explanation.
RalfKeymasterThe Y axis can be inverted on the Input page of the in-game menu. The option is called “HT Invert Y Axis”
The games you have tried so far may be unsupported at this time, hard to tell without knowing what you tried. See this list for games that have at least Z-Buffer 3D: http://www.vorpx.com/games (slightly outdated).
FarCry3 is a tough one. You may have to try several times unfortunately.
If you haven’t done so before, please take a look at the trouble shoot sticky.
Oct 5, 2013 at 11:41pm in reply to: Just bought (on a Saturday) how long is the delay after I email for a key? #10954
RalfKeymasterHi Tarks,
Judging from the time of your post, you should have received your key already.
If not: did you send the request key? Please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com if you have any questions. Thanks.
RalfKeymasterI’ll reorganize the forum a little bit tomorrow, this will include creating a sub forum for settings. At a later point a profile sharing system will most likely be integrated into the Configuration App itself.
