You can aim with your head in ADS mode since a while. Thumbstick only ADS like in the first version was a necessity caused by how the mod does decoupled walk/look and I originally liked it actually, but in terms of playability it wasn’t that great. Worked fine for a more stealth oriented play style, but not really good for anyone prefering fast paced run and gun gameplay. So since a while you can head aim in ADS mode and with the latest release that also works seamlessly when you switch to ADS while looking into a different direction than you walk in.
Too little force for map shift also isn’t good. In more hectic situations that often leads to triggering map shift inadvertantly. I almost spent a full day with finding a sweetspot when I added Index controller support two years ago or so.
The other idea sounds great though! Requiring a higher force only initially might be the perfect solution to inadvertantly triggering map shift without requiring that ‘death grip’ all the time. I’ll definitely check that.
when aiming down sights using gesture. I notice that the zoom in happens but movement can only be done right stick and not by your hands.
Also right stick can only move view horizontally when in ADS which makes it even harder to hit a target.
One other thing. Using index controllers the amount of force required on the grip to enter shift mode is too hard.
Would it be possible to make thr force required adjustsble under input?
Even better once toggled if could stay toggled until you completely remove your fingers from the grip this way I dont need to do a death grip on my left hand whilst also tryimg to use the dpad or buttons on the left.
Greetings, sorry to bother you all today, but I recently tried to play Star Citizen with VorpX on my Index, the situation is a mess, VorpX refuses or either lags indefinitely asking for permission to use a hook that refuses to work due to an untrusted .dll file even upon deleting said file the problem persists back to asking for a hook. This is new for me, I have played Star Citizen in VorpX before without a single problem, now it’s a fiasco with VorpX absolutely losing it’s mind. The only thing that has changed since it last worked is that I moved Star Citizen to a totally different drive on my PC, would this cause this type of dilemma? Also, to clarify I have disabled or uninstalled most my internet virus protection to no avail. Any help in this would truly be appreciated. My thanks!
I cannot aim with Comrade Hammer. All other shot guns works fine. Playing with Valve Index and game controller. What can I do?
Thanks
I installed the stand-alone VR Mod for LiS-BTS recently and it’s 99% perfect, with the only issue being the lack of 3D in cutscenes (a fairly small price to pay considering how good the rest of it plays).
So it’s an instance of a pancake game being forced into VR with zero performance issues, zero shadow issues, zero light issues, zero Z3D artifacts, no need for PP on my Pimax; it’s just straight-up excellent. I’m running it in Wide FOV, 75hz, 1.5 PiTool quality, and it’s flawless. Index controller support is also zero-config perfection.
Ralf: I *think* the methods used in that mod are based on open-source projects. Is there any chance you might be able to incorporate any of those methods into vorpX in titles where they would work? It’s so great being able to play a game without any of the small problems that so often crop-up. LiS2, for example, I played through vorpX, and it worked great, but I had to keep switching to Z3D flipping between G3D and Z3D because nothing I could do would eliminate shadow-rendering issues that showed up in G3D in some scenes.
Thanks for responding Zander :) I too have a Index and with my other previous headsets ( Oculus and Htc Vive) i had no issues..its something going on with Index/VorpX and W.o.W but i can’t figure it out for nothing!!

Thanks! In fact, this one I have been using for quite some time now. And it’s true, you only have to rip the movie but it’s still rather annoying if you ask me.
On the quest 2 there is a movie theater with rental 3D movies and it works out of the box. Was hoping that at this time we would have something similar for pc as well.
The wish-list item: Just been playing FO3 again for a while and realized that a basic macro-function would be perfect. For example I want to either turn off 3D or enter into Edgepeak mode every time I bring up the Pip-boy. I want edgepeak to activate every time I enter VATS and turn off every time I exit. I end up doing all these things manually (I have one of those little keyboards attached to my XBox One controller, so it’s not too bad, as I can set custom hot-keys for accessing edgepeak etc.) But a basic macro-builder in vorpX itself would make things like that easier and more fluid.
And the question: Is there a good resource where I can see exactly what the default Index controller mappings and functions are for various games? It’s always been fairly confusing for me to try and figure out exactly how to utilize the Index controllers properly without having to resort to some functions on the keyboard, which is less than ideal for obvious reasons. It would actually help me to have a chart I could easily reference before playing a game.
Just updated my nvidia driver to 511.23 from January 2022 and now Bioshock HD works again!
I have an RTX 2080 and a Valve Index. Default Settings in Vorpx und ingame i adjusted the fov to 120.
Hi, thank you for this mod. I have some issue with jagging when i use step right or left but my fps is still in green without spikes.. I have index with 3080 + 10900k. I use resolution 25xx (dont remember exactly but 4:3), lower is bad. I disable weapon assist but still jaggy when i aim. Z3D is realy smooth but have artefacts around charracters… G3D nice but more jagging (fps still in green). Some question: 1. Can i have manual about settings with most impact stuttering in vr? Is useable RTX and DLSS in VR? or i can disable?
Hello everyone,
I got a few Steam Keys to give away, all you have to do is take 5 Screenshots:
– Choose 5 different games from This List
– Take one Sceenshot from each game
– Click a game to submit a screenshot
– First submitter of 20 Screenshots will additionally receive a special game (see page)
Once i have received your Screenshots, youll immediately be returened with a key.
Note: Please dont ask me what games they are, i am not commercial, rather small games then AAA. Also note i can not guarantee that a key will work. Perhaps see this as a little “Screenshooter” contest ;-)
@FonzD86
I’m currently playing this game on a i7-8700, 16GB RAM, GTX1070Ti with a Valve Index (90Hz refresh, Motion Smoothing On). I’m not experiencing your issues with this game, but I have experienced similar issues with Outlast (where it supposedly has DirectVR available, but not for myself).
Aside from having to lower Image Zoom to its lowest setting (0.40), while in FullVR/Pixel 1:1, in order to get a stable image, the graphics for Bioshock Infinite have been absolutely gorgeous.
With regards to your inverted head tracking, one of the sub-menus within Vorpx deals with HMD tracking (if memory serves), and I believe there are a couple options where you can invert the x/y axis (useful if no DirectVR is available).
Ralf would know for sure.
Best of luck with B:I. I hope it works out for you.
I don’t have Unravel 2 installed currently, but 1 works fine here (EA Origin version). Three things you could try:
- Disable the Origin in-game overlay. Shouldn’t be necessary, but can’t hurt.
- Try the alternative hooking method (config app/general). Remember to switch back later even if that helps, it won’t work with all games.
- Try a different VR API in the vorpX config app. If you have an Oculus headset, you can use all three, with a WMR headset both OpenXR and SteamVR should work, with a SteamVR headset (e.g. Valve Index) OpenXR and SteamVR.
In my opinion is the HP Reverb G2 with a FOV Mod the best Headset, for people with a standard or big IPD ! People who have a very small IPD will get only a average FOV with a Mod. For example the youtube Voodoo has a IPD under 60mm and prefers the Pimax Headsets because of that, although the image of the Revereb G2 is much better. I use the max IPD setting (72mm), and a very small VR Cover (6mm) and the FOV is nearly the same as it is in my Valve Index.
I have upgraded my AMD Hardware last month and had problems with the usb cable, but HP send me a new Reverb G2 2.0 cable within 24 Hours (UPS) and all problems are gone.
