Long time 3D Vision user here, just got into VR (Valve Index), with 3D Vision there is a problem where the effect seems to take an entire core / thread onto itself and leaves only 3 remaining cores to handle the game, this is known as the “3 Core Bug”, my question is, does VorpX also suffer from this problem?

Also, is there any reason DX12 titles do not work with VorpX?

Someone over in 3D Vision (TimFX7) actually managed to get Shadow of the Tomb Raider working in 3D Vision in DX12. Theoretically 3D Vision can work with DX12, it’s just a tremendous amount of work and none of it is being done by Nvidia seeing as how they discontinued 3D Vision support as of driver 425.31.

    https://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=181&t=23410

I am completely new to VorpX (haven’t purchased yet, whether or not 3 core bug is present will heavily influence my purchasing decision) and somewhat understand that 3D is accomplished via SBS and not 3D Vision so I am assuming that there is no “3 Core bug” present?

Thanks for any help with this.

Bioshock Infinite runs on the older Unreal 3, Sea of Thieves looks to run on Unreal 4.

Try a few other profiles based on Unreal 4, like Hellblade or Conarium.

Check RJK’s handy engine list here for a more complete list.

I’m glad to hear you can at least hook the game with vorpX. I’ve added it now to my wish list. Let us know if you find a working 3D. Thanks, and keep up the great work with your channel – my go to for vr tech.

I forgot to add I did find the oculus touch controls work better for me in vorpx than the index controllers, if only because they’ve got actual buttons to use as shift-modifers and for edge-peek/vorpx menu calling whereas with the index controllers ‘grip/squeeze’ equivelant is just not as functional/tactile. Obviously less of an issue if you use a keyboard/mouse/gamepad or are in a game that doesn’t need a lot of edge-peak usage or varied button mapping.

You may try one of these profiles, preferably the DX) ones. Note that you must hexedit the executables for the DX9 wrapper.

    Hi all,

I would be very grateful for assistance with this one as this is the one game I wanted to get working in VR with vorpx: Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowing.

Right off the bat, I use an Index with SteamVR but the version I own is through GoG, downloaded through Gog Galaxy. I installed MG EXE for it which I believe is the version that it supports and the version that the cloud has profiles for.

I run it and Steam VR and vorpx recognise it, it loads but then it only runs through my computer screen with the view in the HMD remaining black, with only the audio running. Any ideas what the issue is?

I’m new to Vorpx and playing Outer Worlds with Index Controllers and have 2 questions.

    1) Is there a way to see what button does what for the index in each game? I can’t figure out which button switches weapons.

    2) When I press the menu button, the Edge Peek activates which is great, but its covered up by the SteamVR overlay. Is there a way around this?

To OP and others here, vorpx is great, but there is really no reason to use vorpx with this anymore when the lukeross00 r.e.a.l VR mod for GTA V is out. It would be like using vorpx on Alien Isolation still when there’s a great mod out there.

That GTA mod feels almost like native quality. Especially on the higher refresh rates with the index so the alternate frame rendering is not that noticeable. In addition all cut scenes work perfecty in VR now. Here’s the link: https://github.com/LukeRoss00/gta5-real-mod

Hi, Ralf! I have some questions about Halo MC:
    1) Halo 2 Is there any way to begin this game in Geometry 3D? (It works in 2D) Maybe needs change something in config?
    2) Framerate in Halo: Reach. No smoothness when turning the camera. It doesn’t depend on performance.
Playing in 2D, I have the same problems. Not only through the Vorpx. Through the native STEAM movie theater and Virtual Desktop, I have the same questions.
Smoothness only appears if I play at 120 hertz in the Index.
Halo 1 and Halo 2 don’t have these problems.
    Thanks!

Yeah, wish I had an index for the controllers as well, but I have WMR and on that headset, there is no button for SteamVR :/

On the Index you just hit the button on the HMD, it’ll drop you to the steamVR menu, and you can swap to desktops from there.

    Hi everyone

I’m try it to run IL1946 with vorpx but nothing works

I’ve imported the profile IL2 1946 [Erkull], I’ve selected the profile in local games, I got a Reverb VR headset so I select the right option in Device Selection (SteamVR (index,Vive,WMR…)) and in Device Settings (Hand controller (windows MR))and VOPRX, WMR and SteamVR are open before run the simu (il2)… but when i start il2 nothing happens and the message “Attaching to il2fb. exe This takes quite a while. If you suspect the program hangs or you don’t want to use vorpX with to it, click the according button (add to exludelist) (close program) (do nothing)”

What can I do??? Open the window and jump??? -.-

Trying to figure out how to play games in roomscale using my Index controllers (Fallout New Vegas). Or does Vorpx only support games sitting using kbm/ console controller?

I own six headsets each one has it’s plus and minus.
    Rift-S
    Odyssey
    Odyssey +
    HP reverb
    Valve Index
    Vive Cosmos

I play mostly seated so my favorite is HP Reverb true 4K clear as 1080P monitor but you need a top of line gaming computer
Odyssey and Odyssey good for seated and standing (Cheap $249 in US) when on sale.
Valve Index Excellent Tracking good for all games seated, standing and roomscale adjustable refresh rate 80,90,120 and 144 HZ
    Index controllers are great.
    High end computer required
Now for – sold out and highest price of VR headset I own but everything is included and customer support is excellent
Rift S excellent tracking for inside out, cheap clear image comes with everything you need and priced at $399 plays steamvr and oculus exclusives games controllers are great.
    Middle range PC
Customer support and service are very good.
minus sound no headphones sound tinny headband sound for this is plus because I’m close to deaf in my left ear I can wear hearing aid when I’m using the Rift-S.
Vive Cosmos the worst headset I every owned.
Also any Pimax headsets need base stations, headphones and controllers very pricey $1200 to get started and service is the worst.
I would suggest also to purchase a PCI-express USB 3.0 (StarTech or inatech)

Pretty easy if money dosen’t matter Valve Index without a doubt.

Or the Rift S it is cheaper and you have easy accsess to the Oculus Exclusivs. Oh and with Inside out tracking it is pretty much plug and play.

    Hello,
Thanks a lot , the game is gorgeous in G3D( What a game engine !!!).

I’ve found that the game only launch in 1980 X 1080 and full screen.
If like me you had a 1440p resolution for my Index it doen’t work( Same thing for Monster hunter world from Capcom).

    Thank you again.

    Ps : Can someone provide a MGS V ( a phantom pain profile) Please………….
