I have in my cart now one $39.95 VorpX with the option to use PayPal and I’m so close to pushing it but some of the reviews and comments here give me pause.
I have an HTC Vive setup with a machine exclusively made for VR using an Nvidia card (1060? 1080?) and I forget all the details at the moment. I may boot it up later and get the system specs and add them. For now, let’s just say that it runs everything I’ve thrown at it so far.
I bought Skyrim SE about two months ago, have 216 active mods, use Nexus Mod Manager, and run all this on a laptop. I don’t have any graphics enhancements as the laptop gets sluggish with them. Most of them are new NPCs (most I will be removing), new buildings, weapons, spells, and other odds and ends.
I don’t have ENC. I do have SKSE64, FNIS, SkyUI, and I think that’s all that alters the core esm files if they even do that.
I’ve read that some people complain that Skyrim SE has a fogging issue, menus chopping off, and other nagging problems that make me hesitate to purchase.
How does it fare now? Are these simply settings? I don’t mind getting my hands dirty by having to tweak things. Computers have been my hobby and profession for forty years. (Darn I’m getting old.) I would really like to see this game in VR and don’t want to buy a console or wait until December for the supposed Skyrim VR to come out for PCs.
Thanks
Topic: DK2 Fallout 4 questions
Hi all.
Firstly, can you look around with the headset when using the DK2 with Fallout 4 using Vorpx?
Also, when using Vorpx does it run at the same resolution Fallout 4 VR does? IE – the maximum the headset will allow? I bought Dirt Rally and the awful fuzzy textures really made me feel ill.
Thanks !
i there weve just got psvr working on steam with head tracking.
was woundering if your software suports the psvr on pc just avid pc gamer and didnt fancy the hefty price tag of oculas or vive plus my 2 kids play ps4 so made total sence
now can have best of both just my old games grid, grid 2 ,grid autosport dirt 2 and 3 , i fancy playing in vr if you could let me know would be great
thanks for supportTrying to get two steam games that are on the supported list to work and they are failing to start. I have both vive and oculus rift cv1 head sets to test with and both give the similar results. The games in question start ok without vorpx running. Read through the troubleshooting options in vorpx and the post on the forums, disabling antivirus, aero and other windows services, no other overlay apps running, no steam overlay, tried changing many settings in game outside of vorpx to see if that helps, swapping out of cinema mode and cycling between the 3d modes – geometry/z/z adapt doesn’t help. Recently upgrade from a GTX780 to 1080 but same results on both video cards.
Risen – this starts ok in cinema mode but shows all black screen. Never renders game. Switching out of cinema mode and cycling between the 3d modes – geometry/z/z adapt doesn’t help, display stays black.
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic – this crashes to desktop on start consistently after showing the main game menu scene with the character rendered, seems to want to work but then just crashes.
System info:
Windows 7
ASUS nVidia GTX1080 Founders Edition
Intel i5 2500k

Windows defender / Microsoft security essentialsGames that I have tested to work for me currently:
Fallout4
Skyrim
Oblivion
Dirt 3
Torchlight 2
BastionDoes anyone have step by step instructions for some games? I tried searching the forum and only come up with some old stuff for DK2, and I have the CV1.
Alien Isolation, and Left 4 Dead 2, both give me super zoomed-in menus where I can’t see anything properly.
Then, once I got into A:I the motion was reversed. I move my head left, screen goes right. Then, the height is all weird.
I thought this $40 purchase was touted as the “plug and play” version of this kind of software…. what happened?
I would think that each game would already have a sticky, where people can go and just follow the steps. Or a wiki or something.
Anyway, please share some got simple, step-by-step instructions for Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Isolation, Witcher 3, Star Citizen, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, Project Cars, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dear Esther.Thank you!
Hi,
I have just bought vorpX and tried it with Dirt3 and Dirt Rally. In both game I set graphics settings to absolute minimum and always got 45fps as average and minimum fps.
It seems to be more an issue than a problem with my PC (i7-4790K + 2*Radeon 290X).Topic: How long should it take?
Just wondering what sort of time is involved to make a game work with Oculus.
Dirt Rally.
This game worked fine with runtime 0.8 then they patched the game and took away oculus support for runtime 0.8 and no 1.3 support.
Should it take 3 or 4 months to get it working or are they taking the piss.
Are they CodeMasters or Code Masterbaters.Vorpx was working fine for me in every game
Skyrim
Zombiu
Dirt 3
Aliens vs predator 3
Penumbra
Amnesia
Bfbc2
Alien isolation
Necrovision
Gtaiv
Gtav
Bf3/4
Payday 2
Far cry 3/4Then after the 0.9.1 version I got the error “unnable to initiate oculus runtime”, this was because the new driver invalidated every occulus runtime version below version 7.
Now only Skyrim and Zombiu work.
Updating to windows 10 made every game on steam and several others crash instantly upon starting, despite them working perfectly before the update to 0.9.1. and after several days of troubleshooting I am certain the problem is privilege related, to uncontingent framework dependencies, and those are basically just i/o. What really changed was not changed by me.
Im guessing the reason you couldnt use clone screen but used direct to HMD is the same reason i am getting the crashes, because the process that simulates direct to hmd is what is malfunctioning.
So I am instead forced to do a system restore to fix this, but the vorpx autoupdater is a pain, I have to be offline to use it.
If there was an option to not update beyond a certain patch i would be very grateful, at the current time whatever features are added do not matter because i am unnable to run almost any games with them anyway.
In windows 10 there is slight mouseacceleration which makes it unservicable for practising counterstrike unreal tournament or starcraft II at a competitive level, and i am not talking about the improved pointer precision feature.
I would bore you with links and videos of how i can compete at any level with the occulus rift as the FOV inflation makes you extremely accurate (try it for yourself if you dont believe me!) but giving an alternative just for me and a couple of others who struggle with windows 10 is a longshot anyway.
The reason i dont mind using direct to HMD is because i have gotten extremely good at running it, first i turn the HMD on, then i use launchy to start executibles using touch such as Vorpx, i never have to see them even open. For windows i close one eye and have perfect perception, i have to admit it was very difficult in the beginning and i understand the efficiency is much greater with the “Direct HMD access from apps” mode, but the compatability renders this useless for consumers that are not developers.
Are you certain 0.9.1. works with the games i have listed?
Either way vorpx is the best software for vr gaming, the customization perticularly with the real time IPD, 2d FOV and headtracking sensitivity was worth every penny i spent, when fully optimized i can play for days and not get motionsickness, so thank you deerly Ralf and the vorpx team.
